Corneal graft melting is a severe complication of keratoplasty.This review is to summarize the incidence,the pathogenesis,the risk factors,the prognosis and the prevention of corneal graft melting after keratoplasty.W...Corneal graft melting is a severe complication of keratoplasty.This review is to summarize the incidence,the pathogenesis,the risk factors,the prognosis and the prevention of corneal graft melting after keratoplasty.We systematically searched PubMed,Web of Science and WanFang database to retrieve potentially eligible articles about relevant clinical reports and animal experiments.We read the full texts to identify eligible articles.The selection of studies and data extraction were performed independently by two reviewers.In conclusion,the pathogenesis of corneal graft melting is complicated,and many risk factors are closely related to corneal graft melting.Analysis of pathogenesis and risk factors of corneal graft melting can facilitate the development of targeted therapies to better guide clinical practice.展开更多

Attenuated total reflection-Fourier tran...By dynamic method under UV irradiation, commercial melt-blown polypropylene (PPMB) filter element was modified with acrylamide (AAm) using benzophenone (BP) as initiator. Attenuated total reflection-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscope verified that polyacrylamide chain was grafted on the fiber surface of PPMB filter element. Elemental content analysis with energy dispersive X-ray of fibers revealed that the polymerization content in the inner part of filter element was relatively higher than that in the outer. Degree of grafting changed with initiator concentration, monomer concentration, reaction temperature and reached 2.6% at the reaction condition: CBp=0.06 mol/L, CAAm=2.0 mol/L, irradiation time: 80 min, temperature: 60℃. Relative water flux altered with the hydrophilicity and pore size of filter element. In the antifouling test, the modified filter gave greater flux recovery (approximately 70%) after filtration of the water extract of Liuweidihuang, suggesting that the fouling layer was more easily reversible due to the hydrophilic nature of the modified filter.展开更多
Background:To explore the safety and effectiveness of Sclera patch grafts in the management of scleral defects.Methods:This is a retrospective uncontrolled study.Medical records were retrospectively reviewed for 8 eye...Background:To explore the safety and effectiveness of Sclera patch grafts in the management of scleral defects.Methods:This is a retrospective uncontrolled study.Medical records were retrospectively reviewed for 8 eyes of 8 patients with sclera patch grafts.Two patients had necrotizing scleritis,2 patients had scleral melting/perforation secondary to thermal burns,4 patients had scleral staphyloma secondary to surgery.Sclera was reconstructed with allogenic sclera patch grafts,6 in 8 patients combined autologous conjunctival pedicle flap,1 patient combined partial medial rectus translocation,1 patient combined autologous pedicle tenon graft,simultaneously.Treatment outcomes were evaluated using structural integrity,best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),scleritis remission,sclera rejection and melt,and ocular symptoms.Results:Eight patients were reviewed.In all of these cases,satisfactory anatomic and functional outcomes were achieved.In the at least half a year follow-up,the BCVA of all the eight patients were no worse than that of preoperative.No eye pain,foreign body sensation and other discomforts showed in all the patients,except one woman,who showed sclera rejection and melt 1 month postoperative.In addition,one patient showed high intraocular pressure(28 mmHg),which can be controlled by a kind of medicine.Conclusions:In this series,sclera patch grafts is an effective method for management scleral defects in the at least half a year following-up.Attention should be paid to the sclera patch rejection and melt post operatively.展开更多
