A cued search algorithm with uncertain detection performance is proposed for phased array radars. Firstly, a target search model based on the information gain criterion is presented with known detection performance, and the statistical characteristic of the detection probability is calculated by using the fluctuant model of the target radar cross section (RCS). Secondly, when the detection probability is completely unknown, its probability density function is modeled with a beta distribution, and its posterior probability distribution with the radar observation is derived based on the Bayesian theory. Finally simulation results show that the cued search algorithm with a known RCS fluctuant model can achieve the best performance, and the algorithm with the detection probability modeled as a beta distribution is better than that with a random selected detection probability because the model parameters can be updated by the radar observation to approach to the real value of the detection probability. 展开更多

Repeating airgun sources are eco-friendly sources for monitoring the changes in the physical properties of subsurface mediums,but their signals decay quickly and are buried in the noises soon after traveling short distances.Stacking waveforms from different airgun shots recorded by a single seismic station(shot stacking)is the most popular technique to detect weak signals from noisy backgrounds,and has been widely used to process the data of Fixed Airgun Signal Transmission Stations(FASTS)in China.However,shot stacking sacrifices the time resolution in monitoring to recover a qualified airgun signal by stacking many shots at distance stations,and also suffers from persistent local noises.In this paper,we carried out several small-aperture seismic array experiments around the Binchuan FAST Station(BCFASTS)in Yunnan Province,China,and applied the array technique to improve airgun signal detection.The results show that seismic array processing combining with shot stacking can suppress seismic noises more efficiently,and provide better signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)and coherent airgun signals with less airgun shots.This work suggests that the array technique is a feasible and promising tool in FAST to increase the time resolution and reduce noise interference on routine monitoring. 展开更多

Low Resolution Thermal Array Sensors are widely used in several applications in indoor environments. In particular, one of these cheap, small and unobtrusive sensors provides a low-resolution thermal image of the environment and, unlike cameras;it is capable to detect human heat emission even in dark rooms. The obtained thermal data can be used to monitor older seniors while they are performing daily activities at home, to detect critical situations such as falls. Most of the studies in activity recognition using Thermal Array Sensors require human detection techniques to recognize humans passing in the sensor field of view. This paper aims to improve the accuracy of the algorithms used so far by considering the temperature environment variation. This method leverages an adaptive background estimation and a noise removal technique based on Kalman Filter. In order to properly validate the system, a novel installation of a single sensor has been implemented in a smart environment: the obtained results show an improvement in human detection accuracy with respect to the state of the art, especially in case of disturbed environments. 展开更多

In order to improve the infrared detection and discrimination ability of the smart munition to the dynamic armor target under the complex background,the multi-line array infrared detection system is established based on the combination of the single unit infrared detector.The surface dimension features of ground armored targets are identified by size calculating solution algorithm.The signal response value and the value of size calculating are identified by the method of fuzzy recognition to make the fuzzy classification judgment for armored target.According to the characteristics of the target signal,a custom threshold de-noising function is proposed to solve the problem of signal preprocessing.The multi-line array infrared detection can complete the scanning detection in a large area in a short time with the characteristics of smart munition in the steady-state scanning stage.The method solves the disadvantages of wide scanning interval and low detection probability of single unit infrared detection.By reducing the scanning interval,the number of random rendezvous in the infrared feature area of the upper surface is increased,the accuracy of the size calculating is guaranteed.The experiments results show that in the fuzzy recognition method,the size calculating is introduced as the feature operator,which can improve the recognition ability of the ground armor target with different shape size. 展开更多

Solar arrays are important and indispensable parts of spacecraft and provide energy support for spacecraft to operate in orbit and complete on-orbit missions.When a spacecraft is in orbit,because the solar array is exposed to the harsh space environment,with increasing working time,the performance of its internal electronic components gradually degrade until abnormal damage occurs.This damage makes solar array power generation unable to fully meet the energy demand of a spacecraft.Therefore,timely and accurate detection of solar array anomalies is of great significance for the on-orbit operation and maintenance management of spacecraft.In this paper,we propose an anomaly detection method for spacecraft solar arrays based on the integrated least squares support vector machine(ILS-SVM)model:it selects correlated telemetry data from spacecraft solar arrays to form a training set and extracts n groups of training subsets from this set,then gets n corresponding least squares support vector machine(LS-SVM)submodels by training on these training subsets,respectively;after that,the ILS-SVM model is obtained by integrating these submodels through a weighting operation to increase the prediction accuracy and so on;finally,based on the obtained ILS-SVM model,a parameterfree and unsupervised anomaly determination method is proposed to detect the health status of solar arrays.We use the telemetry data set from a satellite in orbit to carry out experimental verification and find that the proposed method can diagnose solar array anomalies in time and can capture the signs before a solar array anomaly occurs,which reflects the applicability of the method. 展开更多

Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)have been widely used in military,medical,wireless communications,aerial surveillance,etc.One key topic involving UAVs is pose estimation in autonomous navigation.A standard procedure for this process is to combine inertial navigation system sensor information with the global navigation satellite system(GNSS)signal.However,some factors can interfere with the GNSS signal,such as ionospheric scintillation,jamming,or spoofing.One alternative method to avoid using the GNSS signal is to apply an image processing approach by matching UAV images with georeferenced images.But a high effort is required for image edge extraction.Here a support vector regression(SVR)model is proposed to reduce this computational load and processing time.The dynamic partial reconfiguration(DPR)of part of the SVR datapath is implemented to accelerate the process,reduce the area,and analyze its granularity by increasing the grain size of the reconfigurable region.Results show that the implementation in hardware is 68 times faster than that in software.This architecture with DPR also facilitates the low power consumption of 4 mW,leading to a reduction of 57%than that without DPR.This is also the lowest power consumption in current machine learning hardware implementations.Besides,the circuitry area is 41 times smaller.SVR with Gaussian kernel shows a success rate of 99.18%and minimum square error of 0.0146 for testing with the planning trajectory.This system is useful for adaptive applications where the user/designer can modify/reconfigure the hardware layout during its application,thus contributing to lower power consumption,smaller hardware area,and shorter execution time. 展开更多

Crack detection in an aerospace turbine disk is essential for aircraft-quality detection.With the unique circular stepped structure and superalloy material properties of aerospace turbine disk,it is difficult for the traditional ultrasonic testing method to perform efficient and accurate testing.In this study,ultrasound phased array detection technology was applied to the non-destructive testing of aviation turbine disks:(i)A phased array ultrasonic c-scan device for detecting aerospace turbine disk cracks(PAUDA)was developed which consists of phased array ultrasonic,transducers,a computer,a displacement encoder,and a rotating scanner;(ii)The influence of the detection parameters include frequency,wave-type,and elements number of the ultrasonic phased array probe on the detection results on the near-surface and the far surface of the aerospace turbine disk is analyzed;(iii)Specimens with flat-bottom-hole(FBH)defects were scanned by the developed PAUDA and the results were analyzed and compared with the conventional single probe ultrasonic water immersion testing.The experiment shows that by using the ultrasonic phased array c-scan to scan the turbine disk the accuracy of the detection can be significantly improved which is of greater accuracy and higher efficiency than traditional immersion testing. 展开更多

This paper proposes a new multitarget constant modulus array structure for code division multiple access (CDMA) systems. The new algorithm for the structure is called pre-despreading and wavelet denoising constant modulus algorithm (D-WD-CMA). In the new algorithm, the pre-despreading is applied to multitarget arrays to remove some multiple access inter- ferences. After that the received signal is subjected to wavelet de-noising to reduce some noise, and used in CMA adaptive iteration for signal separation. Simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm performed better than the traditional CMA algorithm. 展开更多

High-resolution approaches such as multiple signal classification and estimation of signal parameters via rotational invariance techniques(ESPRIT) are currently employed widely in multibeam echo-sounder(MBES)systems for sea floor bathymetry,where a uniform line array is also required.However,due to the requirements in terms of the system coverage/resolution and installation space constraints,an MBES system usually employs a receiving array with a special shape,which means that high-resolution algorithms cannot be applied directly.In addition,the short-term stationary echo signals make it difficult to estimate the covariance matrix required by the high-resolution approaches,which further increases the complexity when applying the high-resolution algorithms in the MBES systems.The ESPRIT with multiple-angle subarray beamforming is employed to reduce the requirements in terms of the signal-to-noise ratio,number of snapshots,and computational effort.The simulations show that the new processing method can provide better fine-structure resolution.Then a highresolution bottom detection(HRBD) algorithm is developed by combining the new processing method with virtual array transformation.The application of the HRBD algorithm to a U-shaped array is also discuss.The computer simulations and experimental data processing results verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. 展开更多

In this paper, we propose the blind space-time high rate multi-user detector for synchronous uplink multi-rate Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (DS-CDMA) systems with antenna array at the base station. By employing antenna array at the base stations, the spatial dimension is used efficiently to suppress co-channel interference and increase the capacity for multi-rate CDMA system. After low rate physical users in the system are modeled as corresponding high rate virtual users, we construct the space-time signature vectors of virtual users. And subspace projection algorithm is employed to estimate space-time signature vectors blindly. Then a soft-decision high rate lnultiuser detector is proposed based on the estimated signature vectors, which avoids estimating the ambiguous complex factors which are necessary in traditional blind detector. Numerical simulation results evaluate the performance in terms of Bit Error Rate (BER) for the proposed scheme. Code-Division Multiple-Access (CDMA) systems are interference limited,and therefore efficient interference management is necessary to enhance the performance of a CDMA system.In this paper,a successive beamforming (spatial filtering),linear decorrelating MultiUser Detection (MUD, temporal filtering) and diversity reception structure for uplink multicarrier Direct Sequence CDMA (DS-CDMA) system with antenna array are proposed.By beamforming,the antenna array suppresses interference according to the distinct array signature.Subsequently,linear decorrelating MUD is ap- plied to separate the signals of different users and eliminate Multiple Access Interference (MAI).Finally, the decorrelated signals at different subcarriers that belong to the same user are combined to achieve frequency diversity.Simulation results show that the proposed structure offers significant Bit Error Rate (BER) performance improvement by successively exploiting the space-time-frequency processing. 展开更多

A neuronal signal detecting circuit and a neuronal signal stimulating circuit designed for a monolithic integrated MEA(micro-electrode array) system are described. As a basic cell of the circuits, an OPA( operational amplifier) is designed with low power, low noise, small size and high gain. The detecting circuit has a chip area of 290 μm × 400 μm, a power dissipation of 2.02 mW, an equivalent input noise of 17.72 nV/ Hz, a gain of 60. 5 dB, and an output voltage from - 2. 48 to + 2. 5 V. The stimulating circuit has a chip area of 130 μm × 290 μm, a power dissipation of 740 μW, and an output voltage from - 2. 5 to 2. 04 V. The parameters show that two circuits are suitable for a monolithic integrated MEA system. The detecting circuit and MEA have been fabricated. Phased array ultrasonic testing, an effective ultrasonic testing(UT) technology, has been widely used in steel inspection because of its high accuracy, sensitivity, and efficiency. However, as its application in as-cast magnesium alloys has just begun, more research is needed. Considering the important role of the gain compensation in quantifying defects in magnesium alloys by ultrasonic phased array technology, the effects of microstructure, the position, size, and overlap of defects, and boundary distance(distance from the defect position to the side surface of the test casting) on gain compensation of as-cast AZ80 and AZ31 magnesium alloys were studied. Results show the gain compensation increases with the increase of grain size. There is a strict linear positive correlation between gain compensation and defect depth, but such relationship no longer exists due to the defects overlap, orientation and boundary distance. In addition, there is a strict linear negative correlation between the gain compensation and defect size. 展开更多

Based on the analysis to the behavior of bad pixels, a statistics-based auto-detecting and compensation algorithm for bad pixels is proposed. The correcting process is divided into two stages: bad pixel detection and bad pixel compensation. The proposed detection algorithm is a combination of median filtering and statistic method. Single frame median filtering is used to locate approximate map, then statistic method and threshold value is used to get the accurate location map of bad pixels. When the bad pixel detection is done, neighboring pixel replacement algorithm is used to compensate them in real-time. The effectiveness of this approach is test- ed by applying it to I-IgCATe infrared video. Experiments on real infrared imaging sequences demonstrate that the proposed algorithm requires only a few frames to obtain high quality corrections. Aiming at the problem that it is difficult to locate all the aperture positions of the large size component using Houghcircle detection method,this article presents a non-contact measurement method combining the integral imaging technology withHough circle detection algorithm.Firstly,a set of integral imaging information acquisition algorithms were proposed accordingto the classical imaging theory.Secondly,the camera array experiment device was built by using two-dimensional translationstage and charge coupled device(CCD)camera.When the system is operating,element image array captured with the camera isused to achieve the positioning of the component aperture using Hough circle detection and coordinate acquisition algorithm.Based on the above theory,a verification experiment was carried out.The results show that the detection error of the componentaperture position is within0.3mm,which provides effective theoretical support for the application of integral imagingtechnology in high precision detection 展开更多

A 4×4 beta-phase gallium oxide(β-Ga_(2)O_(3))deep-ultraviolet(DUV)rectangular 10-fingers interdigital metalsemiconductor-metal(MSM)photodetector array of high photo responsivity is introduced.The Ga2O_(3)thin film is prepared through the metalorganic chemical vapor deposition technique,then used to construct the photodetector array via photolithography,lift-off,and ion beam sputtering methods.The one photodetector cell shows dark current of 1.94 p A,phototo-dark current ratio of 6×10_(7),photo responsivity of 634.15 A·W^(-1),specific detectivity of 5.93×1011cm·Hz1/2·W^(-1)(Jones),external quantum efficiency of 310000%,and linear dynamic region of 108.94 d B,indicating high performances for DUV photo detection.Furthermore,the 16-cell photodetector array displays uniform performances with decent deviation of 19.6%for photo responsivity. 展开更多

Multi-element array photoelectric detector is the core devices to form a photoelectric detection target with a large field of view.This photoelectric detection target brings about the problem of uneven detection sensitivity distribution in the detection screen.To improve the uneven detection sensitivity of this photoelectric detection target,this paper analyzes the distribution law of the uneven detection sensitivity of the photoelectric detection target using the multi-element array photoelectric detector,dissects the main factors affecting the detection sensitivity according to the photoelectric detection principle,establishes the calculation model of detection sensitivity of the photoelectric detection target in the different detection areas and proposes a method to improve the detection sensitivity by compensating the gain of each unit photoelectric detector.The analysis of simulation and experimental results show that the proposed method of photoelectric detection target can effectively improve the output signal amplitude of the projectile under the certain detection distance,in particular,the output signal amplitude of the projectile is significantly increased when the projectile passes through the detection blind area.The experimental results are consistent with the simulation results,which verify the effectiveness of the proposed improvement method. 展开更多
