A multi-objective load distribution model, which takes into account the rolling force margin balance, roll wear ratio and strip shape control, is presented. To avoid the selection of weight coefficients encountered in single objective optimization, a multi-objective differential evolutionary algorithm, called MaximinDE, is proposed to solve this model. The experimental results based on practical production data indicate that MaximinDE can obtain a good pareto-optimal solution set, which consists of a series of alternative solutions to load distribution. Decision-makers can select a trade-off solution from the pareto-optimal solution set based on their experience or the importance of ob- iectives. In this article, a Pareto-based multi-objective estimation of distribution algorithm with multivariate T-copulas is proposed. The algorithm employs Pareto-based approach and multivariate T-copulas to construct probability distribution model. To estimate joint distribution of the selected solutions, the correlation matrix of T-copula is firstly estimated by estimating Kendall’s tau and using the relationship of Kendall’s tau and correlation matrix. After the correlation matrix is estimated, the degree of freedom of T-copula is estimated by using the maximum likelihood method. Afterwards, the Monte Carte simulation is used to generate new individuals. An archive with maximum capacity is used to maintain the non-dominated solutions. The Pareto optimal solutions are selected from the archive on the basis of the diversity of the solutions, and the crowding-distance measure is used for the diversity measurement. The archive gets updated with the inclusion of the non-dominated solutions from the combined population and current archive, and the archive which exceeds the maximum capacity is cut using the diversity consideration. The proposed algorithm is applied to some well-known benchmark. The relative experimental results show that the algorithm has better performance and is effective.展开更多

In this study, a multi-source coordinated load restoration strategy was investigated for a distribution network with soft open points(SOPs). Here, the flexible regulation ability of the SOPs is fully utilized to improve the load restoration level while mitigating voltage deviations. Owing to the uncertainty, a scenario-based stochastic optimization approach was employed, and the load restoration problem was formulated as a mixed-integer nonlinear programming model. A computationally efficient solution algorithm was developed for the model using convex relaxation and linearization methods. The algorithm is organized into a two-stage structure, in which the energy storage system is dispatched in the first stage by solving a relaxed convex problem. In the second stage, an integer programming problem is calculated to acquire the outputs of both SOPs and power resources. A numerical test was conducted on both IEEE 33-bus and IEEE 123-bus systems to validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.展开更多

Currently, Newton-Raphson algorithm is applied to load distribution of hot tandem mills in many hot rolling plants and has some serious defects such as having a strict restriction on initial iterative calculation value and requiring coefficient matrix of nonlinear equations to be nonsingular. To eliminate these defects and improve the online performance of the process control computer, Newton descendent numeric algorithm is introduced to this field to widen the initial value range and a new model named error conversion algorithm is put forth to deal with special conditions when the coefficient matrix is singular. Furthermore, considering the characteristics of load distribution, a condition of strip thickness distribution abnormality and corresponding solutions are provided which ensure that rolling parameters can be calculated normally. Simulation results show that the improved algorithm has overcome the defects of the Newton-Raphson algorithm and is suitable for online application.展开更多

The MSC can provide larger lateral bearing capacity and limit the deflection compared with the RSC. Therefore, the MSC can be much more appropriate to use as an offshore wind turbine foundation. Model tests on the MSC in saturated sand subjected to monotonic lateral loading were carried out to investigate the effects of external structure sizes on the sand surface deformation and the earth pressure distribution along the embedded depth. Test results show that the deformation range of the sand surface increases with the increasing width and length of the external structure. The magnitude of sand upheaval around the MSC is smaller than that of the RSC and the sand upheaval value around the MSC in the loading direction decreases with the increasing external structure dimensions. The net earth pressure in the loading direction acting on the internal compartment of the MSC is smaller than that of the RSC at the same embedded depth. The maximum net earth pressure acting on the external structure outer wall in the loading direction is larger than that of the internal compartment, indicating that a considerable amount of the lateral load and moment is resisted by the external skirt structure.展开更多

The archive gets updated with the inclusion of the non-dominated solutions from the combined population and current archive, and the archive which exceeds the maximum capacity is cut using the diversity consideration. The proposed algorithm is applied to some well-known benchmark. The relative experimental results show that the algorithm has better performance and is effective.

文摘This paper presents a novel approach for electrical distribution network expansion planning using multi-objective particle swarm optimization (PSO). The optimization objectives are: investment and operation cost, energy losses cost, and power congestion cost. A two-phase multi-objective PSO algorithm is employed to solve this optimization problem, which can accelerate the convergence and guarantee the diversity of Pareto-optimal front set as well. The feasibility and effectiveness of both the proposed multi-objective planning approach and the improved multi-objective PSO have been verified by the 18-node typical system.

文摘Confinement of rock bolts by the surrounding rock formation has long been recognized as a positive contributor to the pull-out behavior, yet only a few experimental works and analytical models have been reported, most of which are based on the global rock bolt response evaluated in pull-out tests. This paper presents a laboratory experimental setup aiming to capture the rock formation effect, while using distributed fiber optic sensing to quantify the effect of the confinement and the reinforcement pull-out behavior on a more local level. It is shown that the behavior along the sample itself varies, with certain points exhibiting stress drops with crack formation. Some edge effects related to the kinematic freedom of the grout to dilate are also observed.Regardless,it was found that the mid-level response is quite similar to the average response along the sample. The ability to characterize the variation of the response along the sample is one of the many advantages high-resolution fiber optic sensing allows in such investigations. The paper also offers a plasticity-based hardening load transfer function, representing a"slice"of the anchor. The paper describes in detail the development of the model and the calibration/determination of its parameters. The suggested model captures well the coupled behavior in which the pull-out process leads to an increase in the confining stress due to dilative behavior.

文摘After suffering from a grid blackout, distributed energy resources(DERs), such as local renewable energy and controllable distributed generators and energy storage can be used to restore loads enhancing the system’s resilience. A numerical test was conducted on both IEEE 33-bus and IEEE 123-bus systems to validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

文摘In distributed machine learning(DML)based on the parameter server(PS)architecture, unbalanced communication load distribution of PSs will lead to a significant slowdown of model synchronization in heterogeneous networks due to low utilization of bandwidth. To address this problem,a network-aware adaptive PS load distribution scheme is proposed, which accelerates model synchronization by proactively adjusting the communication load on PSs according to network states. We evaluate the proposed scheme on MXNet,known as a realworld distributed training platform, and results show that our scheme achieves up to 2.68 times speed-up of model training in the dynamic and heterogeneous network environment.

文摘Load distribution is a key technology in strip hot rolling process, which influences the coil's mierostrueture and performance. Simulation results show that the improved algorithm has overcome the defects of the Newton-Raphson algorithm and is suitable for online application.
文摘The pits and pit-associated fatigue crack initiation of the offshore structure steel A537cLl have been investigated under salt water spray condition. The tests were interrupted on sched- ule to make plastic replica of corroded specimen surface on which many randomly distributed pits can be found. The development of the geometric parameters of pits was obtained and the statistical distributions of these parameters were determined.Instead of depth, the ratio of depth to width is the most dominant parameter in relation to crack initiation. Also, the pitting was enhanced when low frequency or high stress range was applied and although stress range has no effect on the nucleation of pits,it can accelerate the initiation of cracks from pits.

文摘The modified suction caisson(MSC) is a novel type of foundation for ocean engineering, consisting of a short external closed-top cylinder-shaped structure surrounding the upper part of the regular suction caisson(RSC). The maximum net earth pressure acting on the external structure outer wall in the loading direction is larger than that of the internal compartment, indicating that a considerable amount of the lateral load and moment is resisted by the external skirt structure.

文摘Non-cylindrical casings filled with explosives have undergone rapid development in warhead design and explosion control. The fragment spatial distribution of prismatic casings is more complex than that of traditional cylindrical casings. In this study, numerical and experimental investigations into the fragment spatial distribution of a prismatic casing were conducted.A new numerical method, which adds the Lagrangian marker points to the Eulerian grid, was proposed to track the multi-material interfaces and material dynamic fractures.Physical quantity mappings between the Lagrangian marker points and Eulerian grid were achieved by their topological relationship.Thereafter, the fragment spatial distributions of the prismatic casing with different fragment sizes, fragment shapes, and casing geometries were obtained using the numerical method. Moreover, fragment spatial distribution experiments were conducted on the prismatic casing with different fragment sizes and shapes, and the experimental data were compared with the numerical results. The effects of the fragment and casing geometry on the fragment spatial distributions were determined by analyzing the numerical results and experimental data. Finally,a formula including the casing geometry parameters was fitted to predict the fragment spatial distribution of the prismatic casing under internal explosive loading.

文摘The output uncertainty of high-proportion distributed power generation severely affects the system voltage and frequency.Simultaneously, controllable loads have also annually increased, which markedly improve the capability for nodal-power control. To maintain the system frequency and voltage magnitude around rated values,a new multi-objective optimization model for both voltage and frequency control is proposed. Moreover,a great similarity between the multiobjective optimization and game problems appears. To reduce the strong subjectivity of the traditional methods, the idea and method of the game theory are introduced into the solution.According to the present situational data and analysis of the voltage and frequency sensitivities to nodal-power variations, the design variables involved in the voltage and frequency control are classified into two strategy spaces for players using hierarchical clustering. Finally, the effectiveness and rationality of the proposed control are verified in MATLAB.
