In order to provide a reliable basis for wind resistant evaluation of a long-span suspension bridge, a structural health monitoring system is installed on a bridge in the East China Sea and the simultaneous wind data at the bridge deck and at the top of the bridge tower are recorded. The average wind speeds and directions, variations of wind speeds with height, turbulent characteristics, spatial correlation and characteristics of wind flow around the bridge deck are analyzed by using statistical methods and spectral analysis. It is found that the average wind speeds along the bridge girder are almost identical; however, the mean wind directions vary greatly at different locations. The dimensionless exponent decreases as the average wind speed increases. The measured turbulence intensities are greater than the recommended values, and the turbulence power spectrum can well fit the standard spectrum. However, the measured spectral values are considerably smaller in low frequency ranges. The mean wind speed of the wake flow decreases and the turbulence intensity increases significantly, and the spectral characteristics of the wake flow change obviously while the feature frequency of vortex shedding has not yet been observed. 展开更多

Utilization of wind energy is a promising way to generate power,and wind turbine blades play a key role in collecting the wind energy effectively.This paper attempts to measure the deformation parameter of wind turbine blades in mechanics experiments using a videometric method. In view that the blades experience small buckling deformation and large integral deformation simultaneously, we proposed a parallel network measurement(PNM) method including the key techniques such as camera network construction,camera calibration,distortion correction,the semi-automatic high-precision extraction of targets,coordinate systems unification,and bundle adjustment,etc. The relatively convenient construction method of the measuring system can provide an abundant measuring content,a wide measuring range and post processing.The experimental results show that the accuracy of the integral deformation measurement is higher than 0.5 mm and that of the buckling deformation measurement higher than 0.1mm. 展开更多

To determine the performance and data accuracy of the 50 MHz Beijing Mesosphere-Stratosphere-Troposphere (MST) radar, comparisons of radar measured horizontal winds in the height range 3-25 km with radiosonde observations were made during 2012. A total of 427 profiles and 15 210 data pairs were compared. There was very good agreement between the two types of measurement. Standard deviations of difference (mean difference) for wind direction, wind speed, zonal wind and meridional wind were 24.86° (0.77°), 3.37 (-0.44), 3.33 (-0.32) and 3.58 (-0.25) m s^-1, respectively. The annual standard deviations of differences for wind speed were within 2.5-3 m s^-1 at all heights apart from 10-15 km, the area of strong winds, where the values were 3-4 m s^-1. The relatively larger differences were mainly due to wind field variations in height regions with larger wind speeds, stronger wind shear and the quasi-zero wind layer. A lower MST radar SNR and a lower percentage of data pairs compared will also result in larger inconsistencies. Importantly, this study found that differences between the MST radar and radiosonde observations did not simply increase when balloon drift resulted in an increase in the real-time distance between the two instruments, but also depended on spatiotemporal structures and their respective positions in the contemporary synoptic systems. In this sense, the MST radar was shown to be a unique observation facility for atmospheric dynamics studies, as well as an operational meteorological observation system with a high temporal and vertical resolution. 展开更多

As a new type of wind field detection equipment, coherent Doppler wind lidar(CDWL) still needs more relevant observation experiments to compare and verify whether it can achieve the accuracy and precision of traditional observation equipment in urban areas. In this experiment, a self-developed CDWL provided four months of observations in the southern Beijing area. After the data acquisition time and height match, the wind profile data obtained based on a Doppler beam swinging(DBS) five-beam inversion algorithm were compared with radiosonde data released from the same location. The standard deviation(SD) of wind speed is 0.8 m s^(–1), and the coefficient of determination R~2 is 0.95. The SD of the wind direction is 17.7° with an R~2 of 0.96. Below the height of the roughness sublayer(about 400 m), the error in wind speed and wind direction is significantly greater than the error above the height of the boundary layer(about 1500 m). For the case of wind speeds less than 4 m s^(–1), the error of wind direction is more significant and is affected by the distribution of surrounding buildings. Averaging at different height levels using suitable time windows can effectively reduce the effects of turbulence and thus reduce the error caused by the different measurement methods of the two devices. 展开更多

The most important of such image based measurement techniques are those for the measurement of planar flow velocity fields, planar pressure distribution, model location and deformation, model temperature and quantitative high speed flow visualization. The applications as carried out by DLR range from low speed flows to transonic flows, from high lift configurations to propellers and rotors, from wake vortex investigations in catapult facilities and water towing tanks to investigations of vortex break down phenomena on delta wings. The capability to use image based measurement techniques in transonic flows requires dedicated technical developments and experienced scientists due to the special environment of a transonic wind tunnel. The main objectives of the research are to characterize the wind-induced resonant and slowly-varying (quasi-static) responses of a tall building under ambient wind excitations based on GPS measurements. The equipment used includes two sets of orthogonally aligned accelerometers, two GPS receivers and an ultrasonic anemometer. The natural frequencies of the wind-induced vibration of the tall building are determined by carrying out spectral analysis of the measured time series of acceleration. The time series are also used to estimate the structural damping with the random decrement technique (RDT). The results show that GPS can be effectively used to measure the resonant and slowly-varying responses of tall buildings with 3D mode shapes under wind excitations. The results from the GPS and the accelerometers agree well with each other in both the time and frequency domains. 展开更多

MLBM has many advantages, such as simple structure, high stability, and no limitation of the monochromaticity of laser. By circumventing the strong influence of atmospheric backscattering on the high sensitivity of target echo detection, high precision detection on backscatter density of laser by signal processing was achieved. Furthermore, the signal densities of various distances were extracted by time sampling and precise frequency control of digital circuit. Finally, the MLBM system including devices integrated of emitting and reviving equipments and program was obtained. Detection experiments showed that our system has high precision and the measurement error could be controlled within 5% to 10%. 展开更多

Influence of Temperature Probes Installation on the Salient Pole to Temperature Measurement

Accurate and reliable information about the temperature of the synchronous generators excitation winding hot spot is necessary to determine the dynamic limit caused by excitation winding overheating in the PQ diagram. For good estimation of a position and the hot spot temperature it is decided to mount 19 temperature probes on one pole of the 6-pole, 400 kVA. 50 llz synchronous generator. Due to a large number of the probes and because the probes should be glued with the metal epoxy it was assumed that mounting of the probes will disrupt the temperature field of the excitation winding. To get the answer to this question the excitation winding resistance was measured betbre and after mounting the probes, in a hot and a cold state. Temperature rise can be estimated if the resistance ratio in the hot and the cold state is known. The paper also addresses the analysis of the measurement accuracy. The result shows that, there is no significant influence on the temperature when mounting the 19 temperature probes which covered 10% of the pole excitation winding surface. 展开更多

为能够快捷且经济地完成开口类钝体桥梁断面涡振制振气动措施的选型,以一座边主梁叠合梁斜拉桥为背景,采用“CFD(computation fluid dynamics)数值模拟选型+风洞试验验证”的思路对其涡振制振气动措施选型进行研究.该桥原设计主梁断面... 为能够快捷且经济地完成开口类钝体桥梁断面涡振制振气动措施的选型,以一座边主梁叠合梁斜拉桥为背景,采用“CFD(computation fluid dynamics)数值模拟选型+风洞试验验证”的思路对其涡振制振气动措施选型进行研究.该桥原设计主梁断面在常遇风速下存在显著涡激振动,为完成气动措施的初步选型,采用CFD数值计算对原设计断面的流场进行模拟,通过研究原设计断面的旋涡脱落状态确定主要旋涡抑制对象,进而有针对性地模拟了3种气动措施(下中央稳定板、导流板与风嘴)对主要脱落旋涡的抑制作用,通过将各断面旋涡脱落状态与三分力系数进行对比分析,得到各断面涡振性能的相对优劣关系,并最终选取风嘴与下中央稳定板结合而成的组合气动措施进行风洞验证试验.试验结果表明:该组合气动措施能够有效抑制梁体在各风攻角下的涡激振动,且在+5°风攻角下,通过风洞试验得到的导流板、下中央稳定板、风嘴组合气动3种措施对原设计断面涡振振幅的减小作用依此递增,分别为2.7%、27.7%与87.4%,制振能力高低关系与数值模拟结果相一致;本次数值模拟结果符合预期要求,未来可针对不同类型桥梁断面进一步扩展数值模拟与风洞试验结果对比的数据集,以期更为准确、快捷地完成气动措施的选型. 展开更多

为确定10 m高度以下风场特征以指导光伏支架结构设计,在陕西汉中某拟建光伏电站场址内开展了近地面风场实测.由于实测结果存在较高的低频能量,分别选用平稳模型和基于离散小波变换的非平稳模型,研究了10 m以下近地面风场的平均风速、湍... 为确定10 m高度以下风场特征以指导光伏支架结构设计,在陕西汉中某拟建光伏电站场址内开展了近地面风场实测.由于实测结果存在较高的低频能量,分别选用平稳模型和基于离散小波变换的非平稳模型,研究了10 m以下近地面风场的平均风速、湍流度、阵风因子、湍流积分尺度和风功率谱等特征参数,并与规范取值进行对比分析.结果表明:丘陵地区10 m以下近地面风场具有一定的非平稳特性;平稳模型会高估风的湍流强度和湍流积分尺度;非平稳模型较好地提取了时变平均风速,提高了样本的平稳性,且与光伏结构易发生共振的高频部分能量密度有所增大,能量接近Kaimal谱和von Karman谱,高于平稳模型结果,更具适用性. 展开更多
