This study investigated the capacity building needs for manual and computer assisted teaching of pattern drafting for entrepreneurship in tertiary institutions in Nigeria.The study was conducted and guided by two research questions and two hypotheses.This study adopted an ex-post facto research design.The population for the study consisted of 131 Home Economics lecturers from the Universities,Polytechnic,and Colleges of Education in South East Nigeria.The entire population was studied because of its manageable size,hence there was no sampling.The results of this study showed that the Home Economics lecturers are competent in drafting patterns using manual method.Technical skills required for lecturers of Home Economics to advance from manual to computer-assisted teaching of pattern drafting were identified.They include ability to grade patterns,ability to use software packages,and ability to discuss procedures of pattern drafting among others.Based on the findings,it was recommended among others that computer assisted teaching of pattern drafting should be incorporated and applied by Home Economics lecturers to ensure that students acquire technical skills that will enable them to enter into entrepreneurship. 展开更多

Virtual simulation teaching of architecture courses is a teaching mode based on the deep integration of information technology and design class in intelligent environment.Under the background of new engineering,relying on a national virtual simulation laboratory,the exploration of green low-carbon simulation in architecture courses is of great importance for improving the dimension of scientific thinking of architecture undergraduates.In this study,based on the background of architecture curriculum construction,the practical content of the teaching reform of architecture courses based on virtual simulation was expounded from three dimensions of reshaping teaching objectives,updating teaching content and improving teaching evaluation.The practical paths of teaching reform of architecture courses were put forward under virtual simulation experiment teaching,namely building teaching teams,strengthening pilot courses,reforming teaching methods,optimizing classroom teaching content and evaluation methods,constructing practical classroom teaching form in line with the learning situation of architecture courses,building a smart learning platform,and closely combining resource construction,application and curriculum content.This study has important practical significance for optimizing and improving the teaching system of professional courses,adapting to the needs of the industry,enhancing competitiveness,and promoting the construction of first-class architecture courses. 展开更多

Instead of analogues, it is permitt... In emergence of design, it is undoubted to be informed from nature for how things get done. But in architecture, the students are not used to start up with biological investigation. Instead of analogues, it is permitted to pursue an evolvability systematics for built emerge. The systematics relies upon the key assumptions of Kirschner who sought the characteristics of biological evolution. For an integrated design thinking of an architectural mind, this is a methodological study, which strategically adapts living forms' evolvability capacity to built-forms' structural emergence. The study outlines the evolution strategy with experimental studios of building and design. The preceding systematic is taught in distinguished courses. It is purposed to build an easy-to-apply framework for how to generate novel structures and how the spatial structure units are organized to emerge with an imagined nature as novel tectonic model. Besides, building up structural thinking into the consilience of evolution strategy, the study is also distinguished for understanding the value system of architectural mind to diagnose the genuine character of inventive built form. Timetabling optimization of classrooms and self-study rooms in university teaching buildings based on the building controls virtual test bed platform considering energy efficiency

The energy consumption of a teaching building can be effectively reduced by timetable optimization.However,in most studies that explore methods to reduce building energy consumption by course timetable optimization,self-study activities are not considered.In this study,an MATLAB-EnergyPlus joint simulation model was constructed based on the Building Controls Virtual Test Bed platform to reduce building energy consumption by optimizing the course schedule and opening strategy of self-study rooms in a holistic way.The following results were obtained by taking a university in Xi’an as an example:(1)The energy saving percentages obtained by timetabling optimization during the heating season examination week,heating season non-examination week,cooling season examination week,and cooling season non-examination week are 35%,29.4%,13.4%,and 13.4%,respectively.(2)Regarding the temporal arrangement,most courses are scheduled in the morning during the cooling season and afternoon during the heating season.Regarding the spatial arrangement,most courses are arranged in the central section of the middle floors of the building.(3)During the heating season,the additional building energy consumption incurred by the opening of self-study rooms decreases when duty heating temperature increases. 展开更多

为了适应以学生为中心、以提高学习成效为目标的教育改革需求,哈尔滨工业大学建筑学院教学团队针对多专业缺少沟通、建筑环境物理课程内容存在重复等问题,基于建筑学、城市规划、风景园林和建环专业的不同培养目标,以建筑环境学和建筑物... 为了适应以学生为中心、以提高学习成效为目标的教育改革需求,哈尔滨工业大学建筑学院教学团队针对多专业缺少沟通、建筑环境物理课程内容存在重复等问题,基于建筑学、城市规划、风景园林和建环专业的不同培养目标,以建筑环境学和建筑物理(声、光、热)课程组成的建筑环境物理课程群为平台,从教学体系、教学内容等方面对建筑环境物理课程群进行了一系列改革。通过融合不同专业背景教学团队,聚焦不同专业本科生需要获取的知识点,研究了“跨专业+菜单化”培养模式,将建筑环境学与建筑物理(声、光、热)的授课内容整合为不同的教学模块,学生可对每个课程中的模块内容进行学习,避免了内容的无效重复。以建筑环境学、建筑环境学概论、建筑环境交互原理、建筑物理(光)四门课程为例,介绍了基于新培养模式的理论教学内容重构,包括将不同专业理论课程贯通、理论课与实践课程贯通。一年多的教学实践表明该培养模式有助于提升教学质量。 展开更多

建筑材料课程具有理论与实践并重、知识点多且专等特点,建筑材料课程对学生的要求在不断地提高,要求学生既能够理解知识又能够应用及解决工程实际问题。但目前的大多数建筑材料课程结构、课程内容上缺乏系统、深入的研究,普遍存在课程... 建筑材料课程具有理论与实践并重、知识点多且专等特点,建筑材料课程对学生的要求在不断地提高,要求学生既能够理解知识又能够应用及解决工程实际问题。但目前的大多数建筑材料课程结构、课程内容上缺乏系统、深入的研究,普遍存在课程设置不够科学、教材部分知识内容陈旧等弊端。该文经过调查研究及教师任教体会深刻剖析高等学校建筑材料课程的现状,指出目前存在的问题和需改进之处。以互联网为工具,提出建立建筑材料实践教学体系、建立课外网络平台、鼓励学生参加科研项目、改变现有课程考核方式及建立国际化平台等五个方面的建议和措施,最后对教学改革效果进行系统总结。该文对于应用型本科建筑材料课程的教学改革具有一定指导作用。 展开更多
