The study focuses on the flexible jumper issue of Subsurface Tension Leg Production (STLP) system concept, which is considered as a competing alternative system to support well completion devices and rigid risers in ultra-deep water for offshore petroleum production. The paper presents analytical and numerical approaches for the optimum design and global analysis of the flexible jumper. Criteria using catenary concept are developed to define the critical length for optimum design. Based on the criteria, detailed hydrodynamic analyses including quasi-static analysis, modal analysis, and dynamic analysis are performed. Modal analysis with respect to the quasi-static analysis shows that the existence of resonant modes requires special consideration. The results of dynamic analysis confirm the effectiveness of the de-coupled effect from the jumper on STLP system. The approaches developed in the study also have wide application prospect in reference to the optimum design and analysis of any Hybrid Riser (HR) concept. 展开更多

In this paper, we developed a novel process integrating vacuum distillation with atmospheric chlorination reaction(VD-ACR) to realize the flexible production of tetrachloroethane(TeCA) and pentachloroethane(PCA)from 1,2-dichloroethane(DCA). During the simulation, the distillation column and reactors were operated for separation and chlorination respectively under variable pressures and temperatures. It is interesting to note that VD-ACR processes producing pure TeCA or PCA can exhibit the similar configuration parameters after optimization, which enables the flexible production of TeCA and PCA with different molar ratios via changing operating parameters. The molar ratio of TeC A/PCA can be fine-tuned within the range of 0.9:0.1-0.1:0.9 through adjusting the amount of chlorine pumped into side reactors, giving rise to the increase of the heat duty of reboiler by five times. A pilot-scale experiment was then operated based-upon this VD-ACR process and the result matched well with the simulation. Therefore, the VD-ACR model presented in this study will be beneficial for the industrial-scale flexible production of TeCA and PCA from DCA. 展开更多

With diversified requirements and varying manufacturing environments, the optimal production planning for a steel mill becomes more flexible and complicated. The flexibility provides operators with auxiliary requirements through an implementable integrated production planning. In this paper, a mixed-integer nonlinear programming(MINLP) model is proposed for the optimal planning that incorporates various manufacturing constraints and flexibility in a steel plate mill. Furthermore, two solution strategies are developed to overcome the weakness in solving the MINLP problem directly. The first one is to transform the original MINLP formulation to an approximate mixed integer linear programming using a classic linearization method. The second one is to decompose the original model using a branch-and-bound based iterative method. Computational experiments on various instances are presented in terms of the effectiveness and applicability. The result shows that the second method performs better in computational efforts and solution accuracy. 展开更多

A newly drying technology, intermittent-contact drying of veneer with flexible screen belt (ICD-fbs), was invented and used in poplar veneer drying. Productive test was carried out for validating the practical use of this drying method. The test result shows that to dispose flexible screen belts on the two sides of hot board could help steam discharge remarkably. The veneer dried using ICD-fsb method had smooth and level surface, less deformation and warping, even moisture content, and high utilization rate. The time for opening hot board to discharge steam,which, early or late, is a key to obtain good drying result, was determined at the time when the core's temperature of veneer reaches 100℃ (vaporization). Using ICD-fsb method, the shrinking rates in tangent of veneer were from 1.90% to 2.26% for veneer of 0.4 mm in thickness,2.49% to 4.50% for veneer of 1 mm in thickness and 1.34% to 3.30% for veneer of 1.7 mm in thickness, which are much lower than the results obtained by other drying methods. The method of ICD-fsb offers a reliable technological guarantee for solving the deformation problem of veneer drying, especially the deformation of wood from quick-growing plantation. 展开更多

In a typical discrete manufacturing process,a new type of reconfigurable production line is introduced,which aims to help small-and mid-size enterprises to improve machine utilization and reduce production cost.In order to effectively handle the production scheduling problem for the manufacturing system,an improved multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm based on Brownian motion(MOPSO-BM)is proposed.Since the existing MOPSO algorithms are easily stuck in the local optimum,the global search ability of the proposed method is enhanced based on the random motion mechanism of the BM.To further strengthen the global search capacity,a strategy of fitting the inertia weight with the piecewise Gaussian cumulative distribution function(GCDF)is included,which helps to maintain an excellent convergence rate of the algorithm.Based on the commonly used indicators generational distance(GD)and hypervolume(HV),we compare the MOPSO-BM with several other latest algorithms on the benchmark functions,and it shows a better overall performance.Furthermore,for a real reconfigurable production line of smart home appliances,three algorithms,namely non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-II(NSGA-II),decomposition-based MOPSO(dMOPSO)and MOPSO-BM,are applied to tackle the scheduling problem.It is demonstrated that MOPSO-BM outperforms the others in terms of convergence rate and quality of solutions. 展开更多

Production planning under flexible job shop environment is studied.A mathematic model is formulated to help improve alternative process production.This model,in which genetic algorithm is used,is expected to result in better production planning,hence towards the aim of minimizing production cost under the constraints of delivery time and other scheduling conditions.By means of this algorithm,all planning schemes which could meet all requirements of the constraints within the whole solution space are exhaustively searched so as to find the optimal one.Also,a case study is given in the end to support and validate this model.Our results show that genetic algorithm is capable of locating feasible process routes to reduce production cost for certain tasks. 展开更多

To meet the market requirements for Flexible Transf er Line (FTL), which consists of modular NC machining tools of high quality and co st saving, the methodologies and technologies of client-oriented FTL rapid resp onse schematic design CAPP-based, one of the key techniques, are presented in t his paper. In order to achieve this purpose, an integrated system for integrated design of CAD/CAPP/FTL with box-type parts is realized. In this paper, firstly the theory of the conceptual design of FTL based on CAPP is established and the software architecture is developed. The global-domain pr oduct model is put forward to meet with data representation. After the manufactu ring feature is analyzed and decomposed for machining operations, the feature-b ased part unified data model object-oriented is built. Secondly the knowledge- based CAPP system data model is established. The process planning unit model is formed by work element (WE), which is tool-cell based function abstraction meth od, and has unified layers with respect to designing and manufacturing. With WEs through dynamic response and simultaneous structure in process planning, the pr inciple solution for CAPP function system can be implemented. Lastly the mapping from process domain to module design domain is built. The unidirectional select ion process based on fuzzy matching technology is easily dealt with computer. Th e algorithm of decision with fuzzy synthetic evaluation method and technology is applied to estimate the feasibility of the results in local working procedure o f modular NC machine tools and make decision of designs in overall FTL, which co nsists of many different factors. Production planning in FMS provides a solution to problems regarding part type selection: machine grouping, production ratio, resource allocation and loading problem. These problems need to be solved optimally for maximum utilization of resources. Optimal solution to these problems has been a focus of attention in production and manufacturing, industrial and academic research since a number of decades. Evolution of new optimization techniques, software, technology, machines and computer languages provides the scope of a better optimal solution to the existing problems. Thus there remains a need of research to solve the problem with latest tools and techniques for higher optimal use of available resources. As an objective, the researchers need to reduce the computational time and cost, complexity of the problem, solution approach viz. general or customized, better user friendly communication with machine, higher freedom to select the desired objective(s) type(s) for optimal solution to the problem. As an approach to the solution to the problem, a researcher first needs to go for an exhaustive literature review, where the researcher needs to find the research gaps, compare and analyze the tools and techniques used, number of objectives considered for optimization and need, and scope of research for the research problem. A criterion is proposed to prioritize each operation (rather than sequence). Under the multi-agent architecture the criterion can be used to guide the decision-making procedure during production scheduling so that there is an adequate flexibility at each decision point. Experimental results demonstrate the efficiency of the criterion when it is used as a scheduling heuristic. Aiming at the characteristics of obvious block division and strong discreteness in the assembly production mode of electronic products,this paper proposes a composite U-shaped flexible assembly line model,and establishes a multi-objective optimization mathematical model on this basis.According to the characteristics of the model,the improved ranked positional weight(RPW)method is used to adjust the generation process of the initial solution of the genetic algorithm,so that the genetic algorithm can be applied to the block task model.At the same time,the adaptive cross mutation factor is used on the premise that tasks between different blocks are not crossed during cross mutation,which effectively improves the probability of excellent individuals retaining.After that,the algorithm is used to iterate to obtain the optimal solution task assignment.Finally,the algorithm results are compared with actual production data,which verifies the validity and feasibility of the assembly line model for discrete production mode proposed in this paper. 展开更多

High penetration level of renewable energy has brought great challenges to operation of power systems,and use of flexible resources(FRs)is becoming increasingly important.Flexibility of power systems can be improved by changing generation arrangements,but the interests of some market participants may be harmed in the process.This study proposes a stochastic economic dispatch model with trading of flexible ramping products(FRPs).To calculate changes in revenue and reasonably compensate units that provide FRs,multisegmented marginal bidding for energy is simulated by linearizing generation cost,and an optimal market clearing strategy for FRPs is developed according to changes in clearing energy and marginal clearing price.Then,the correlation between prediction errors of wind speeds among different wind farms is determined based on a joint distribution function modeled by the copula function,and quasi-Monte Carlo simulation(QMC)is used to generate wind power scenarios.Finally,numerical simulations of modified IEEE-30 and IEEE-118 bus systems is performed with minimum comprehensive cost as the objective function.This verifies the proposed model could effectively deal with wind variability and uncertainty,stabilize the marginal clearing price of the electricity market,and ensure fairness in the market. 展开更多

The development of robust and efficient trifunctional catalysts showing excellent oxygen evolution reaction(OER), oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) kinetics has been challenging.Herein, we prepared a hybrid iron and cobalt-based metal alloy phosphide on a phosphorus and nitrogen co-doped carbon substrate(Fe Co-P/PNC) as a catalyst using a one-step Pregulation method. The catalyst exhibited a positive half-wave potential of 0.86 V versus the reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE) for ORR, and low overpotentials of 350 and 158 m V for OER and HER, respectively, to achieve a current density of10 m A cm^(-2). Density functional theory calculations demonstrated the dominant role of P in both Fe Co phosphide and carbon matrix, which led to the good ORR, OER and HER kinetics. The assembled aqueous and flexible Zn-air batteries with Fe Co-P/PNC as the air cathode displayed excellent peak power densities of 195.1 and 90.8 m W cm^(-2), respectively, as well as outstanding charging-discharging performance, long lifetime, and high flexibility. Moreover, the self-powered overall water-splitting cell exhibited a low working voltage of1.71 V to achieve a current density of 10 m A cm^(-2), confirming its excellent multifunctional OER/ORR/HER activity. 展开更多

In this paper we propose a COncurrent Production Engineering System (COPES) for the flexible transfer line (FTL) layout design in a restricted area. COPES first determines the buffer size in front of the bay of each machine tool in the FTL and then initializes a computer aided design (CAD) system to draw the FTL in a restricted area. We develop a set of modules systems which have been integrated into a single framework, in accordance with the practice of concurrent engineering. Concurrent engineering involves the cooperation of these activities. It's expected that the developed COPES can improve the cooperation between production engineers' and the plant designer. This can be done by enabling the production engineers' to make better decision regarding FTL buffer size. 展开更多

为了促进含氢能源系统中灵活性资源的综合利用,针对光储氢集站对调度指令的响应问题,提出一种考虑广义储能参与灵活响应的光储氢集站实时能量管理策略。对光储氢集站内电池储能、电制氢负荷等广义储能进行精细化建模,在集站模型中引入... 为了促进含氢能源系统中灵活性资源的综合利用,针对光储氢集站对调度指令的响应问题,提出一种考虑广义储能参与灵活响应的光储氢集站实时能量管理策略。对光储氢集站内电池储能、电制氢负荷等广义储能进行精细化建模,在集站模型中引入考虑电-热-流耦合关系的电制氢虚拟储能模型。通过优化集站灵活性资源的出力构建日内-实时两级能量管理策略,在能量管理优化层面满足运行计划要求的同时考虑效益最大化,实现电池储能荷电状态初、末状态优化;对系统功率波动进行实时反馈校正,保证集站内功率平衡。算例仿真结果验证了所提策略在提升运行经济效益、促进可再生能源消纳方面的积极作用。 展开更多
