With the rapid development of low-orbit satellite com-munication networks both domestically and internationally,space-terrestrial integrated networks will become the future development trend.For space and terrestrial networks with limi-ted resources,the utilization efficiency of the entire space-terres-trial integrated networks resources can be affected by the core network indirectly.In order to improve the response efficiency of core networks expansion construction,early warning of the core network elements capacity is necessary.Based on the inte-grated architecture of space and terrestrial network,multidimen-sional factors are considered in this paper,including the number of terminals,login users,and the rules of users’migration during holidays.Using artifical intelligence(AI)technologies,the regis-tered users of the access and mobility management function(AMF),authorization users of the unified data management(UDM),protocol data unit(PDU)sessions of session manage-ment function(SMF)are predicted in combination with the num-ber of login users,the number of terminals.Therefore,the core network elements capacity can be predicted in advance.The proposed method is proven to be effective based on the data from real network. 展开更多

Recent developments in the aerospace industry have led to a dramatic reduction in the manufacturing and launch costs of low Earth orbit satellites.The new trend enables the paradigm shift of satelliteterrestrial integrated networks with global coverage.In particular,the integration of 5G communication systems and satellites has the potential to restructure nextgeneration mobile networks.By leveraging the network function virtualization and network slicing,the satellite 5G core networks will facilitate the coordination and management of network functions in satellite-terrestrial integrated networks.We are the first to deploy a 5G core network on a real-world satellite to investigate its feasibility.We conducted experiments to validate the satellite 5G core network functions.The validated procedures include registration and session setup procedures.The results show that the satellite 5G core network can function normally and generate correct signaling. 展开更多

The Internet of Things(IoTs)has become an essential component of the 5th Generation(5G)network and beyond,accelerating the transition to digital society.The increasing signaling traffic generated by billions of IoT devices has placed significant strain on the 5G Core network(5GC)control plane.To address this issue,the 3rd Gener-ation Partnership Project(3GPP)first proposed a Service-Based Architecture(SBA),intending to create a flexible,scalable,and agile cloud-native 5GC.However,considering the coupling of protocol states and functions,there are still many challenges to fully utilize the benefits of the cloud computing and orchestrate the 5GC in a cloud-native manner.We propose a Message-Level StateLess Design(ML-SLD)to provide a cloud-native 5GC from an architectural standpoint in this paper.Firstly,we propose an innovative mechanism for servitization of the N2 interface to maintain the connection between Radio Access Network(RAN)and the 5GC,avoiding interruptions and dropouts of large-scale user data.Furthermore,we propose an On-demand Message Forwarding(OMF)al-gorithm to reduce the impact of cloud fluctuations on the performance of cloud-native 5GC.Finally,we create a prototype that is based on the OpenAirInterface(OAI)5G core network projects,with all Network Functions(NFs)packaged in dockers and deployed in a kubernetes-based cloud environment.Several experiments have been built with UERANSIM and Chaosblade simulation tools.The findings demonstrate the viability and efficiency of our proposed methods. 展开更多

This paper studies and analyzes the rigorous requirements of railway 5G private network core network(5GC)equipment based on network function virtualization(NFV)technology in terms of reliability,security,latency and other aspects of communication cloud,compares cloud platform schemes with different decoupling modes,and proposes that railway 5GC should be implemented by software and hardware integration scheme or software and hardware two-layer decoupling scheme.At the same time,the redundancy and disaster recovery schemes and measures that can be taken by 5GC based on cloud platform are proposed.Finally,taking the products of ZTE Corporation as an example,the implementation architecture of railway 5GC cloud platform in 1+1 redundancy mode is given.It serves as a reference for the engineering construction of 5G-R core network. 展开更多

Secure authentication between user equipment and 5G core network is a critical issue for 5G system.However,the traditional authentication protocol 5 G-AKA and the centralized key database are at risk of several security problems,e.g.key leakage,impersonation attack,MitM attack and single point of failure.In this paper,a blockchain based asymmetric authentication and key agreement protocol(BC-AKA)is proposed for distributed 5G core network.In particular,the key used in the authentication process is replaced from a symmetric key to an asymmetric key,and the database used to store keys in conventional 5G core network is replaced with a blockchain network.A proof of concept system for distributed 5G core network is built based on Ethereum and ECC-Secp256 k1,and the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed scheme are verified by the experiment results. 展开更多

Researchers have started to extend SDN to cellular networks. Such new programmable architecture is beneficial to the evolution of mobile networks and allows operators to provide better services. The typical cellular network comprises radio access network (RAN) and core network (CN); hence, the technique roadmap diverges in two ways. In this paper, we investigate SoftRAN, the latest SDN solution for RAN, and SoftCell and MobileFlow, the latest solutions for CN. We also define a series of control functions for CROWD. Unlike in the other literature, we emphasize only softwaredefined cellular network solutions and specifications in order to provide possible research directions. 展开更多

This article presents the network design schemes of CERNET2 including overall architecture, the backbone, core nodes, access solutions and the CNGI peer centers. CERNET2 connects 25 core nodes distributed in 20 cities of China at the speed of 2.5-10 Gb/s. CERNET2 has four unique features. First, its backbone adopts native IPv6 protocols, rather than IPv4/IPv6 dual stack. It is the largest pure IPv6 network in the world. Second, it provides an environment for testing and trial operation of China-made IPv6 core routers. It also allows tests of interconnection, interworking and interoperation among multiple vendors. Third, the large IPv6 address space enables the study on network addresses in a real network environment, which ensures the construction of a secured and trusted CNGI. Objective:Based on data mining software,applying frequent itemsets,association rules,hierarchical clustering,complex networks and other data mining methods to analyze the usage and compatibility of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)patent compound for functional dyspepsia.Method:Use the Chinese patent database to search the compound for the treatment of functional dyspepsia,exclude traditional Chinese medicine extracts,single drugs,combined use of Chinese and Western medicines,etc.,screen the patented compound of TCM,establish an Excel data table,and apply data mining software to The data is subjected to frequency statistics,association rules,cluster analysis and complex network analysis.Result:A total of 238 prescriptions for functional dyspepsia were screened.The four qi of the drugs were mainly warm and calm,the five flavors were mainly sweet and spicy,and the spleen and stomach were the main meridians.The top 10 Chinese medicines with higher frequency are Shanzha、Chenpi、Gancao、Maiya、Jineijin、Fuling、Baizhu、Shenqu、Houpo、Banxia;frequent itemsets show that the drugs are mainly compatible with qi and spleen,qi and digestion;association rules The analysis shows that the common drug pairs used in the treatment of functional dyspepsia include Chenpi-Shanzha、Maiya-Shanzha、Jineijin-Shanzha,etc.;cluster analysis found that there are 4 types of drugs for functional dyspepsia,mainly including drugs for regulating qi-flowing for harmonizing stomach,drugs for soothing liver and promoting Qi,drugs for eliminating food and resolving accumulation,drugs for benefiting qi and strengthening spleen;the 22-flavor Chinese medicine in the core drug network,the core compatibility is mainly to eliminate stagnation and spleen.Conclusion:Data mining research provides a reference for the clinical treatment of functional dyspepsia and the development of TCM formulas;Clinical treatment of functional dyspepsia should grasp the basic principles of strengthening vital energy and eliminating pathogenic factors to benefit qi,strengthen the spleen,and eliminate food.It is a basic treatment method,taking into account the methods of regulating qi-flowing for harmonizing stomach,soothing the liver and relieving depression,relieving dampness and dampness,and combining the specific conditions of patients with syndrome differentiation and treatment. 展开更多

Joint system consumption minimization and workload allocation in edge-core network

To investigate the problem of optimizing the total consumption in an edge-core network, the system consumption minimization problem is fromulated, considering the energy consumption and delay. Given that the formulated problem is a mixed nonlinear integer programming (MNIP) , a low-complexity workload allocation algorithm is proposed based on interior-point method. The proposed algorithm has an extremely short running time in practice. Finally, simulation results show that edge network can significantly complement core network with much reduced backhaul energy consumption and delay. 展开更多

Determining effective traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatments for specific disease conditions or particular patient groups is a difficult issue that necessitates investigation because of the complicated personalized manifestations in real-world patients and the individualized combination therapies prescribed in clinical settings. In this study, a multistage analysis method that integrates propensity case matching, complex network analysis, and herb set enrichment analysis was proposed to identify effective herb prescriptions for particular diseases (e.g., insomnia). First, propensity case matching was applied to match clinical cases. Then, core network extraction and herb set enrichment were combined to detect core effective herb prescriptions. Effectiveness-based mutual information was used to detect strong herb symptom relationships. This method was applied on a TCM clinical data set with 955 patients collected from well-designed observational studies. Results revealed that groups of herb prescriptions with higher effectiveness rates (76.9% vs. 42.8% for matched samples; 94.2% vs. 84.9% for all samples) compared with the original prescriptions were found. Particular patient groups with symptom manifestations were also identified to help investigate the indications of the effective herb prescriptions. 展开更多
