Molten Carbonate Fuel Cells (MCFC) are produced with a highly efficient and clean power generation technology which will soon be widely utilized. The temperature characters of MCFC stack are briefly analyzed. A radial basis function (RBF) neural networks identification technology is applied to set up the temperature nonlinear model of MCFC stack, and the identification structure, algorithm and modeling training process are given in detail. A fuzzy controller of MCFC stack is designed. In order to improve its online control ability, a neural network trained by the I/O data of a fuzzy controller is designed. The neural networks can memorize and expand the inference rules of the fuzzy controller and substitute for the fuzzy controller to control MCFC stack online. A detailed design of the controller is given. The validity of MCFC stack modelling based on neural networks and the superior performance of the fuzzy neural networks controller are proved by Simulations. 展开更多

Self-Triggered Set Stabilization of Boolean Control Networks and Its Applications

Set stabilization is one of the essential problems in engineering systems, and self-triggered control(STC) can save the storage space for interactive information, and can be successfully applied in networked control systems with limited communication resources. In this study, the set stabilization problem and STC design of Boolean control networks are investigated via the semi-tensor product technique. On the one hand, the largest control invariant subset is calculated in terms of the strongly connected components of the state transition graph, by which a graph-theoretical condition for set stabilization is derived. On the other hand, a characteristic function is exploited to determine the triggering mechanism and feasible controls. Based on this, the minimum-time and minimum-triggering open-loop, state-feedback and output-feedback STCs for set stabilization are designed,respectively. As classic applications of self-triggered set stabilization, self-triggered synchronization, self-triggered output tracking and self-triggered output regulation are discussed as well. Additionally, several practical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of theoretical results. 展开更多

Using fuzzy neural networks to approximate the unknown nonlinear functions, a fuzzy- neural adaptive observer is introduced for state estimation as well as system identification. Under the framework of the backstepping design, fuzzy-neural adaptive output feedback control is constructed recursively. It is proven that the proposed fuzzy adaptive control approach guarantees the global boundedness property for all the signals, driving the tracking error to a small neighbordhood of the origin. Simulation example is included to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. 展开更多

Firstly, the uncertain nonlinear dynamic and unknown periodic TVP are represented by using neural networks(NNs) and Fourier series expansion(FSE), respectively. Secondly, based on the ANNC and reparameterization approaches, two control algorithms are designed to make the uncertain parabolic DPSs with NPTVP asymptotically stable. The sufficient conditions of the asymptotically stable for the resulting closed-loop systems are also derived. Finally, a simulation is carried out to verify the effectiveness of the two control algorithms designed in this work. 展开更多

The next-generation optical network is a service oriented network,which could be delivered by utilizing the generalized multiprotocol label switching(GMPLS) based control plane to realize lots of intelligent features such as rapid provisioning,automated protection and restoration(P&R),efficient resource allocation,and support for different quality of service(QoS) requirements.In this paper,we propose a novel stateful PCE-cloud(SPC)based architecture of GMPLS optical networks for cloud services.The cloud computing technologies(e.g.virtualization and parallel computing) are applied to the construction of SPC for improving the reliability and maximizing resource utilization.The functions of SPC and GMPLS based control plane are expanded according to the features of cloud services for different QoS requirements.The architecture and detailed description of the components of SPC are provided.Different potential cooperation relationships between public stateful PCE cloud(PSPC) and region stateful PCE cloud(RSPC) are investigated.Moreover,we present the policy-enabled and constraint-based routing scheme base on the cooperation of PSPC and RSPC.Simulation results for verifying the performance of routing and control plane reliability are analyzed. 展开更多

So it is rather difficult to derive a traditional mathematical model which is capable of expressing both its dynamics and steady-state characteristics. A neural network-based adaptive control strategy is proposed in this paper. In this method, two neural networks have been adopted for system identification (NNI) and control (NNC), respectively. Then, the commonly-used specialized learning has been modified, by taking the NNI output as the approximation output of the servo-motor during the weights training to get sensitivity information. Moreover, the rule for choosing the learning rate is given on the basis of the analysis of Lyapunov stability. Finally, an example of applying the proposed control strategy on a servo-motor is presented to show its effectiveness. 展开更多

The aim of this survey paper is to provide the state of the art of the research on control and optimal control of Boolean control networks,under the assumption that all the state variables are accessible and hence available for feedback.Necessary and sufficient conditions for stabilisability to a limit cycle or to an equilibrium point are given.Additionally,it is shown that when such conditions are satisfied,stabilisation can always be achieved by means of state feedback.Analogous results are obtained for the safe control problem that is investigated for the first time in this survey.Finite and infinite horizon optimal control are subsequently considered,and solution algorithms are provided,based on suitable adaptations of theRiccati difference and algebraic equations.Finally,an appropriate definition of the cost function allows to restate and to solve both stabilisation and safe control as infinite horizon optimal control problems. 展开更多

Public opinion propagation control is one of the hot topics in contemporary social network research. With the rapid dissemination of information over the Internet, the traditional isolation and vaccination strategies can no longer achieve satisfactory results. A positive guidance technology for public opinion diffusion is urgently needed. First, based on the analysis of influence network controllability and public opinion diffusion, a positive guidance technology is proposed and a new model that supports external control is established. Second, in combination with the influence network, a public opinion propagation influence network model is designed and a public opinion control point selection algorithm(POCDNSA) is proposed. Finally, An experiment verified that this algorithm can lead to users receiving the correct guidance quickly and accurately, reducing the impact of false public opinion information; the effect of CELF is no better than that of the POCDNSA algorithm. The main reason is that the former is completely based on the diffusion cascade information contained in the training data, but does not consider the specific situation of the network structure and the diffusion of public opinion information in the closed set. thus, the effectiveness and feasibility of the algorithm is proven. The findings of this article therefore provide useful insights for the implementation of public opinion control. 展开更多

Depending on the place that the observer is put in the system, the network control systems with packet dropping are modeled as stochastic systems with the random variables satisfying the Bernoulli random binary distribution. The observer-based controller is designed to stabilize the networked system in the sense of mean square, and the prescribed H∞ disturbance attenuation level is achieved. The controller design problem is formulated as the feasibility of the convex optimization problem, which can be solved by a linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach. This paper describes a broad perspective of the application of graph theory to establishment of GPS control networks whereby the GPS network is considered as a connected and directed graph with three components.In this algorithm the gross error detection is undertaken through loops of different spanning trees using the "Loop Law" in which the individual components Δ X, Δ Y and Δ Z sum up to zero.If the sum of the respective vector components ∑X,∑Y and ∑Z in a loop is not zero and if the error is beyond the tolerable limit (ε>w),it indicates the existence of gross errors in one of the baselines in the loop and therefore the baseline must be removed or re_observed.After successful screening of errors by graph theory,network adjustment can be carried out.In this paper,the GPS data from the control network established as reference system for the HP Dam at Baishan county in Liaoning province is presented to illustrate the algorithm. 展开更多

An investigation on the neural networks based active vibration control of flexible redundant manipulators was conducted. The smart links of the manipulator were synthesized with the flexible links to which were attached piezoceramic actuators and strain gauge sensors. A nonlinear adaptive control strategy named neural networks based indirect adaptive control (NNIAC) was employed to improve the dynamic performance of the manipulator. The mathematical model of the 4-layered dynamic recurrent neural networks (DRNN) was introduced. The neuro-identifier and the neuro-controller featuring the DRNN topology were designed off line so as to enhance the initial robustness of the NNIAC. By adjusting the neuro-identifier and the neuro-controller alternatively, the manipulator was controlled on line for achieving the desired dynamic performance. Finally, a planar 3R redundant manipulator with one smart link was utilized as an illustrative example. The simulation results proved the validity of the control strategy. 展开更多

When applying Software-Defined Networks(SDN) to WANs,the SDN flexibility enables the cross-domain control to achieve a better control scalability.However,the control consistence is required by all the cross-domain services,to ensure the data plane configured in consensus for different domains.Such consistence process is complicated by potential failure and errors of WANs.In this paper,we propose a consistence layer to actively and passively snapshot the cross-domain control states,to reduce the complexities of service realizations.We implement the layer and evaluate performance in the PlanetLab testbed for the WAN emulation.The testbed conditions are extremely enlarged comparing to the real network.The results show its scalability,reliability and responsiveness in dealing with the control dynamics.In the normalized results,the active and passive snapshots are executed with the mean times of 1.873 s and 105 ms in135 controllers,indicating its readiness to be used in the real network. 展开更多

A new technique, namely, the free-matrix-based time-dependent discontinuous Lyapunov functional approach, is adopted in constructing the Lyapunov functional, which takes advantage of the sampling characteristic of sawtooth input delay. Based on this discontinuous Lyapunov functional, some less conservative synchronization criteria are established to ensure that the slave system is synchronous with the master system. The desired sampled-data controller can be obtained through the use of the linear matrix inequality(LMI) technique. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness and the improvements of the proposed methods. 展开更多

In this paper, the authors investigate the overload problem of a congested router in TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) networks, with a design of an AQM (Active Queue Management) controller based on control theory. The model of TCP/AQM is converted into a second-order system with time delay, the stability of the closed-loop AQM system is described in terms of a characteristic quasi-polynomial. The authors focus on the synthesis of first-order AQM controller. The authors' approach consists of determining the stabilizing regions in the parameter space of the first-order controller, then choosing controller's parameters within these regions. Finally, the authors illustrate the proposed methodology with an example and simulations using NS-2 simulator. 展开更多

The influence of a node in a network can be characterized by its macroscopic properties such as eigenvector centrality. An issue of significant theoretical and practical interest is to modify the influence or roles of the nodes in a network, and recent advances indicate that this can be achieved by just controlling a subset of nodes: the socalled controllers. However, the relationship between the structural properties of a network and its controllability, e.g., the control of node importance, is still not well understood. Here we systematically" explore this relationship by constructing scale-free networks with a fixed degree sequence and tunable network characteristics. We calculate the relative size (nc*) of the minimai controlling set required to controi the importance of each individual node in a network. It is found that while clustering has no significant impact on nc*, changes in degree-degree correlations, heterogeneity and the average degree of networks demonstrate a discernible impact on its controllability. 展开更多

The complexity of software system has been increasing with software evolution, which affects the stability of software structure. Most of the existing measurement methods focus on the analysis of the macro-characteristics of the network topology, but lacked a certain depth and expansion to explore the nature of the complexity of the software structure, for this purpose, the complex network control theory was applied to the study of software network controllability. Firstly, the Source-Driver (SD) model was established based on the system control theory, the driver node sets were obtained by the minimum input theorem in the control process of software network topology;Then the relationship between the degree and center degree, the relationship between the in-degree and the out-degree of the software network topology were further analyzed owing to the non-uniqueness of the driver node sets;Finally, the values of the four indicators in the software system were compared. Experimental results show that the driver node sets in the software networks are mainly composed of nodes with low degree values, but it does not mean that the nodes whose in-degree values and out-degree values are also low;The action on control nodes and driver nodes are not random, the controllability of the driver nodes is closely related to the in-degree, when selecting the driver node sets, the network topology characteristics should be considered comprehensively, and the nodes with high degree and center degree are the first choice. The results have important guiding significance for the control, maintenance and redesign of software architecture. 展开更多

The mathematical model of the Markovian jumping neural networks with distributed delays is established in which a set of neural networks are used as individual subsystems. Finite time stability analysis for such neural networks is addressed based on the linear matrix inequality approach. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the usefulness of our proposed method.
