A dissolved oxygen fuzzy system predicting model based on neural network was put forward in this study. 106 groups of data were used to confirm the fitness of the predicting model. The first 80 groups of data were acted as training input and the other 26 groups of data were acted as the confirmed data in the system. The result showed that the testing data was approximately the same as the predicted data. So it gave a new way to solve the problem that the status of the water quality couldn't be predicted in time and it's hard to watching and measuring the factors dynamic. 展开更多

The coagulation process is one of the most important stages in water treatment plant, which involves many complex physical and chemical phenomena. Moreover, coagulant dosing rate is non-linearly correlated to raw water characteristics such as turbidity, conductivity, PH, temperature, etc. As such, coagulation reaction is hard or even impossible to control satisfactorily by conventional methods. Based on neural network and rule models, an expert system for determining the optimum chemical dosage rate is developed and used in a water treatment work, and the results of actual runs show that in the condition of satisfying the demand of drinking water quality, the usage of coagulant is lowered. 展开更多

Owing to continuous production lines with large amount of consecutive controls, various control signals and huge logistic relations, this paper introduced the methods and principles of the development of knowledge base in a fault diagnosis expert system that was based on machine learning by the four-layer perceptron neural network. An example was presented. By combining differential function with not differential function and back propagation of error with back propagation of expectation, the four-layer perceptron neural network was established. And it was good for solving such a bottleneck problem in knowledge acquisition in expert system and enhancing real-time on-line diagnosis. This neural network-based fuzzy system for prognosis of tank failures has been put into operation at Huangdao oil terminal. The application results have shown that this system is effective for real-time prognosis of various potential tank failures and timely adoption of mitigative measures to avoid major tank accidents, which would have great significance for safeguarding the safe operation of the oil terminal. 展开更多

Reliable on line cutting tool conditioning monitoring is an essential feature of automatic machine tool and flexible manufacturing system (FMS) and computer integrated manufacturing system (CIMS). Recently artificial neural networks (ANNs) are used for this purpose in conjunction with suitable sensory systems. The present work in Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) uses back propagation neural networks (BP) and fuzzy neural networks (FNN) to process the cutting tool state data measured with force and acoustic emission (AE) sensors, and implements a valuable on line tool condition monitoring system using the ANNs. Different ANN structures are designed and investigated to estimate the tool wear state based on the fusion of acoustic emission and force signals. Finally, four case studies are introduced for the sensing and ANN processing of the tool wear states and the failures of the tool with practical experiment examples. The results indicate that a tool wear identification system can be achieved using the sensors integration with ANNs, and that ANNs provide a very effective method of implementing sensor integration for on line monitoring of tool wear states and abnormalities. 展开更多

This study aims to predict the undrained shear strength of remolded soil samples using non-linear regression analyses,fuzzy logic,and artificial neural network modeling.A total of 1306 undrained shear strength results from 230 different remolded soil test settings reported in 21 publications were collected,utilizing six different measurement devices.Although water content,plastic limit,and liquid limit were used as input parameters for fuzzy logic and artificial neural network modeling,liquidity index or water content ratio was considered as an input parameter for non-linear regression analyses.In non-linear regression analyses,12 different regression equations were derived for the prediction of undrained shear strength of remolded soil.Feed-Forward backpropagation and the TANSIG transfer function were used for artificial neural network modeling,while the Mamdani inference system was preferred with trapezoidal and triangular membership functions for fuzzy logic modeling.The experimental results of 914 tests were used for training of the artificial neural network models,196 for validation and 196 for testing.It was observed that the accuracy of the artificial neural network and fuzzy logic modeling was higher than that of the non-linear regression analyses.Furthermore,a simple and reliable regression equation was proposed for assessments of undrained shear strength values with higher coefficients of determination. 展开更多

The single input (SI) to the fuzzy logic and artificial neural network models was the percentage weight of neodymium, while the multiple outputs (MO) were average grain size, ultimate tensile strength, yield strength elongation and hardness. The fuzzy logic-based model showed more accurate prediction than the artificial neutral network-based model in terms of the correlation coefficient values (R). 展开更多

The design procedures of the fuzzy neural controller and the teaching controller are described. The parameters of the membership function are regulated by an on-line learning algorithm. The speed responses of the system under the condition, where the target functions are chosen as I qs and ω, are analyzed. The system responses with the variant of parameter moment of inertial J, viscous coefficients B and torque constant K tare also analyzed. In Wireless Sensor Networks(WSN),attacks mostly aim in limiting or eliminating the capability of the network to do its normal function.Detecting this misbehaviour is a demanding issue.And so far the prevailing research methods show poor performance.AQN3 centred efficient Intrusion Detection Systems(IDS)is proposed in WSN to ameliorate the performance.The proposed system encompasses Data Gathering(DG)in WSN as well as Intrusion Detection(ID)phases.In DG,the Sensor Nodes(SN)is formed as clusters in the WSN and the Distance-based Fruit Fly Fuzzy c-means(DFFF)algorithm chooses the Cluster Head(CH).Then,the data is amassed by the discovered path.Next,it is tested with the trained IDS.The IDS encompasses‘3’steps:pre-processing,matrix reduction,and classification.In pre-processing,the data is organized in a clear format.Then,attributes are presented on the matrix format and the ELDA(entropybased linear discriminant analysis)lessens the matrix values.Next,the output as of the matrix reduction is inputted to the QN3 classifier,which classifies the denial-of-services(DoS),Remotes to Local(R2L),Users to Root(U2R),and probes into attacked or Normal data.In an experimental estimation,the proposed algorithm’s performance is contrasted with the prevailing algorithms.The proposed work attains an enhanced outcome than the prevailing methods. 展开更多

This expert system takes advantage of both a neural network and a rule reasoning expert system; it can also make use of all kinds of knowledge in the repository to diagnose the fault with the positive and negative mixing reasoning mode. The binary system was adopted to denote all kinds of fault in a rotation mechanism. The neural networks were trained with a random parallel algorithm (Alopex). The expert system overcomes the self learning difficulty of the rule reasoning expert system and the shortcoming of poor system control of the neural network. The method taking account of dynamic and static characteristics of control system has settled the problems of recognizing and controlling the unknown, uncertain and nonlinear system successfully, and has been applied to hydraulic roll bending control. The simulation results indicate that the system has good performance and strong robustness, and is better than traditional PID and neural-fuzzy control. The former of the two elements comprises a neural network with both identification and control role, and the latter is a fuzzy neural algorithm, which is introduced to provide additional control enhancement. The feedforward controller provides only coarse control, whereas the feedback controller can generate on-line conditional proposition rule automatically to improve the overall control action. Using fuzzy neural networks to approximate the unknown nonlinear functions, a fuzzy- neural adaptive observer is introduced for state estimation as well as system identification. Under the framework of the backstepping design, fuzzy-neural adaptive output feedback control is constructed recursively. It is proven that the proposed fuzzy adaptive control approach guarantees the global boundedness property for all the signals, driving the tracking error to a small neighbordhood of the origin. The output of the controller is composed of two parts, part one is derived on basis ofthe principle of sliding control, the lower order model and the estimated parameters of the plantare only required, part two is derived on basis FNN, it is used to compensate the uncertainties ofthe systems. Because new type of FNN controller extracts from the advantages of the intelligentcontrol and model based sliding mode control, the numbers of adjusting parameters and the structureof FNN are simplified at large, and the practical significance and variation range are attached toeach layer of the network and its connected weights, the control performance and learning speed areincreased at large. Simultaneous perturbation stochastic approximation (SPSA) belongs to the class of gradient-free optimization methods that extract gradient information from successive objective function evaluation. This paper describes an improved SPSA algorithm, which entails fuzzy adaptive gain sequences, gradient smoothing, and a step rejection procedure to enhance convergence and stability. The proposed fuzzy adaptive simultaneous perturbation approximation (FASPA) algorithm is particularly well suited to problems involving a large number of parameters such as those encountered in nonlinear system identification using neural networks (NNs). Accordingly, a multilayer perceptron (MLP) network with popular training algorithms was used to predicate the system response. We found that an MLP trained by FASPSA had the desired accuracy that was comparable to results obtained by traditional system identification algorithms. Simulation results for typical nonlinear systems demonstrate that the proposed NN architecture trained with FASPSA yields improved system identification as measured by reduced time of convergence and a smaller identification error. 展开更多

Due to its great potentisl value in theory and application, fault-tolerant control atrategies of nonlinear systems, especially combining with intelligent control methods, have been a focus in the academe. A fault-tolerant control method based on fuzzy neural networks was presented for nonlinear systems in this paper. The fault parameters were designed to detect the fault, adaptive updating method was introduced to estimate and track fault, and fuzzy neural networks were used to adjust the fault parameters and construct automated fault diagnosis. And the fault compeusation control force, which was given by fault estimation, was used to realize adaptive fault-tolerant control. This framework leaded to a simple structure, an accurate detection, and a high robusmess. The simulation results in induction motor show that it is still able to work well with high dynamic performance and control precision under the condition of motor parameters' variation fault and load torque disturbance. 展开更多
