In this paper, global robust stability of uncertain stochastic recurrent neural networks with Markovian jumping parameters is considered. A novel Linear matrix inequal- ity(LMI) based stability criterion is obtained to guarantee the asymptotic stability of uncertain stochastic recurrent neural networks with Markovian jumping parameters. The results are derived by using the Lyapunov functional technique, Lipchitz condition and S-procuture. Finally, numerical examples are given to demonstrate the correctness of the theoretical results. Our results are also compared with results discussed in [31] and [34] to show the effectiveness and conservativeness. 展开更多

The multi- layers feedforward neural network is used for inversion ofmaterial constants of fluid-saturated porous media. The direct analysis of fluid-saturated porousmedia is carried out with the boundary element method. The dynamic displacement responses obtainedfrom direct analysis for prescribed material parameters constitute the sample sets training neuralnetwork. By virtue of the effective L-M training algorithm and the Tikhonov regularization method aswell as the GCV method for an appropriate selection of regu-larization parameter, the inversemapping from dynamic displacement responses to material constants is performed. Numerical examplesdemonstrate the validity of the neural network method. 展开更多

Continuous-variable quantum key distribution(CVQKD)allows legitimate parties to extract and exchange secret keys. However, the tradeoff between the secret key rate and the accuracy of parameter estimation still around the present CVQKD system. In this paper,we suggest an approach for parameter estimation of the CVQKD system via artificial neural networks(ANN),which can be merged in post-processing with less additional devices. The ANN-based training scheme, enables key prediction without exposing any raw key.Experimental results show that the error between the predicted values and the true ones is in a reasonable range. The CVQKD system can be improved in terms of the secret key rate and the parameter estimation, which involves less additional devices than the traditional CVQKD system. 展开更多

Interval type-2 fuzzy neural networks(IT2FNNs)can be seen as the hybridization of interval type-2 fuzzy systems(IT2FSs) and neural networks(NNs). Thus, they naturally inherit the merits of both IT2 FSs and NNs. Although IT2 FNNs have more advantages in processing uncertain, incomplete, or imprecise information compared to their type-1 counterparts, a large number of parameters need to be tuned in the IT2 FNNs,which increases the difficulties of their design. In this paper, big bang-big crunch(BBBC) optimization and particle swarm optimization(PSO) are applied in the parameter optimization for Takagi-Sugeno-Kang(TSK) type IT2 FNNs. The employment of the BBBC and PSO strategies can eliminate the need of backpropagation computation. The computing problem is converted to a simple feed-forward IT2 FNNs learning. The adoption of the BBBC or the PSO will not only simplify the design of the IT2 FNNs, but will also increase identification accuracy when compared with present methods. The proposed optimization based strategies are tested with three types of interval type-2 fuzzy membership functions(IT2FMFs) and deployed on three typical identification models. Simulation results certify the effectiveness of the proposed parameter optimization methods for the IT2 FNNs. 展开更多

The finite-time Mittag-Leffler synchronization is investigated for fractional-order delayed memristive neural networks(FDMNN)with parameters uncertainty and discontinuous activation functions. The relevant results are obtained under the framework of Filippov for such systems.Firstly, the novel feedback controller, which includes the discontinuous functions and time delays,is proposed to investigate such systems.Secondly, the conditions on finite-time Mittag-Leffler synchronization of FDMNN are established according to the properties of fractional-order calculus and inequality analysis technique. At the same time, the upper bound of the settling time for Mittag-Leffler synchronization is accurately estimated. In addition,by selecting the appropriate parameters of the designed controller and utilizing the comparison theorem for fractional-order systems, the global asymptotic synchronization is achieved as a corollary. Finally,a numerical example is given to indicate the correctness of the obtained conclusions. 展开更多

This paper proposes a technique for synthesizing a pixel-based photo-realistic talking face animation using two-step synthesis with HMMs and DNNs. We introduce facial expression parameters as an intermediate representation that has a good correspondence with both of the input contexts and the output pixel data of face images. The sequences of the facial expression parameters are modeled using context-dependent HMMs with static and dynamic features. The mapping from the expression parameters to the target pixel images are trained using DNNs. We examine the required amount of the training data for HMMs and DNNs and compare the performance of the proposed technique with the conventional PCA-based technique through objective and subjective evaluation experiments. 展开更多

The applications of intelligent techniques have increased exponentially in recent days to study most of the non-linear parameters. In particular, the behavior of earth resembles the non- linearity applications. An efficient tool is needed for the interpretation of geophysical parameters to study the subsurface of the earth. Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) perform certain tasks if the structure of the network is modified accordingly for the purpose it has been used. The three most robust networks were taken and comparatively analyzed for their performance to choose the appropriate network. The single- layer feed-forward neural network with the back propagation algorithm is chosen as one of the well- suited networks after comparing the results. Initially, certain synthetic data sets of all three-layer curves have been taken tk^r training the network, and the network is validated by the field datasets collected from Tuticorin Coastal Region (78°7'30"E and 8°48'45"N), Tamil Nadu, India. The interpretation has been done successfully using the corresponding learning algorithm in the present study. With proper training of back propagation networks, it tends to give the resistivity and thickness of the subsurface layer model of the field resistivity data concerning the synthetic data trained earlier in the appropriate network. The network is trained with more Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) data, and this trained network is demon- strated by the field data. Groundwater table depth also has been modeled. 展开更多

Four layer feedforward regular fuzzy neural networks are constructed. Universal approximations to some continuous fuzzy functions defined on F 0 (R) n by the four layer fuzzy neural networks are shown. At first, multivariate Bernstein polynomials associated with fuzzy valued functions are empolyed to approximate continuous fuzzy valued functions defined on each compact set of R n . Secondly,by introducing cut preserving fuzzy mapping, the equivalent conditions for continuous fuzzy functions that can be arbitrarily closely approximated by regular fuzzy neural networks are shown. Finally a few of sufficient and necessary conditions for characterizing approximation capabilities of regular fuzzy neural networks are obtained. The Radial Basis Functions Neural Network (RBFNN) is used to establish the model of a response system through the input and output data of the system. The synchronization between a drive system and the response system can be implemented by employing the RBFNN model and state feedback control. In this case, the exact mathematical model, which is the precondition for the conventional method, is unnecessary for implementing synchronization. The effect of the model error is investigated and a corresponding theorem is developed. The effect of the parameter perturbations and the measurement noise is investigated through simulations. The simulation results under different conditions show the effectiveness of the method. 展开更多

The finite-time control of uncertain fractional-order Hopfield neural networks is investigated in this paper. A switched terminal sliding surface is proposed for a class of uncertain fractional-order Hopfield neural networks. Then a robust control law is designed to ensure the occurrence of the sliding motion for stabilization of the fractional-order Hopfield neural networks. Besides, for the unknown parameters of the fractional-order Hopfield neural networks, some estimations are made. Based on the fractional-order Lyapunov theory, the finite-time stability of the sliding surface to origin is proved well. We investigate the stochastic asymptotical synchronization of chaotic Markovian jumping fuzzy cellular neural networks (MJFCNNs) with discrete, unbounded distributed delays, and the Wiener process based on sampled-data control using the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach. The Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional combined with the input delay approach as well as the free-weighting matrix approach is employed to derive several sufficient criteria in terms of LMIs to ensure that the delayed MJFCNNs with the Wiener process is stochastic asymptotical synchronous. Restrictions (e.g., time derivative is smaller than one) are removed to obtain a proposed sampled-data controller. This paper presents the pathological voice detection and classification techniques using signal processing based methodologies and Feed Forward Neural Networks(FFNN).The important pathological voices such as Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD)and Down Syndrome(DS)are considered for analysis. These pathological voices are known to manifest in different ways in the speech of children and adults. Therefore,it is possible to discriminate ASD and DS children from normal ones using the acoustic features extracted from the speech of these subjects. The important attributes hidden in the pathological voices are extracted by applying different signal processing techniques. In this work, three group of feature vectors such as perturbation measures, noise parameters and spectral-cepstral modeling are derived from the signals. The detection and classification is done by means of Feed For-ward Neural Network(FFNN)classifier trained with Scaled Conjugate Gradient(SCG)algorithm. The performance of the network is evaluated by finding various performance metrics and the the experimental results clearly demonstrate that the proposed method gives better performance compared with other methods discussed in the literature. 展开更多

If it is, which main functional class and subclasses it belongs to? This is an important biological question because they are closely related to the biological function of an uncharacterized protein. Particularly, with the avalanche of protein sequences generated in the post genomic era and since conventional techniques are time consuming and expensive, it is highly desirable to develop an automated method by which one can get a fast and accurate answer to these questions. Here, a top-down predictor, called MetalloPred, is developed which consists of 3 level of hierarchical classification using cascade of neural networks from sequence derived features. The 1st layer of the prediction engine is for identifying a query protein as metalloprotein or not;the 2nd layer for the main functional class;and the 3rd layer for the sub-functional class. The overall success rates for all the three layers are higher than 60% that were obtained through rigorous cross-validation tests on the very stringent benchmark datasets in which none of the proteins has 30% sequence identity with any other in the same class or subclass. MetalloPred achieved good prediction accuracies and could nicely complement experimental approaches for identification of metal binding proteins. MetalloPred is freely available to be used in-house as a standalone and is accessible at http://www.juit.ac.in/assets/Metallopred/. 展开更多
