The light green color of single crys...In this paper, we report the growth of single crystals of Co_x Zn_(1-x)S and Co_x Zn_(1-x)Se (0<x<0.3) by the method of chemical transport, using iodine as a transport agent. The light green color of single crystal Co_xZn_(1-x)S as well as the light brown color of Co_xZn_(1-x)Se become deep with an increase in x. The compositions of the single crystals were nearly stoichiometric. The transfer rate decreases with an increase of the x value. The growth rate was related to the temperature difference. The large temperature difference speed up the growth rate, but the size of crystal obtained was small. In general, the optimal temperature difference was 15℃. From X-ray diffraction measurements, the structures of crystals Co_xZn_(1-x)S and Co_xZn_(1-x)Se (0<x<0.1) were identified to be zinc blende structure similar to that of ZnS and ZnSe.展开更多

A new clay-cement composite grouting material (CCGM) for tunnelling in underwater karst area was developed through the excellent synergistic interactions among cement, clay, meta-aluminate and lignin. The probable for...A new clay-cement composite grouting material (CCGM) for tunnelling in underwater karst area was developed through the excellent synergistic interactions among cement, clay, meta-aluminate and lignin. The probable formation mechanism of the material was proposed based on a series of experimental tests. The results show that with an optimal mass ratio (2:1:1:0.024) for water, cement, clay and additives, the obtained CCGM displayed an excellent grouting performance for karst in an underwater condition. Compared with neat cement grouts and clay-cement grouts, CCGM has faster gel time, lower bleeding rate and bulk shrinkage rate, greater initial viscosity, and a strong resistance to water dispersion. A successful engineering application indicates that CCGM not only fulfils a better grouting performance for karst in underwater conditions but also reduces the engineering cost and environmental pollution.展开更多

The stress- strain relationship is first measured under conditions of uniaxial compression with additional lateral stress and strain, then the elastic modulus of the material is determined by the linear fitting method. It is found that the modulus is positively correlated to the grain size and negatively correlated to the container size. Arching and dragging are revealed to be the mechanism of such correlations by using the digital image correlation method and the pressure film technology based on the statistical method.展开更多

The curing and carbonization mechanisms of furfural-acetone resin were mainly investigated; structural changes and volatile products evolved during pyrolysis were analyzed. The results indicate that, during pyrolysis of furfural-acetone resin adding 7% (mass fraction) phosphorous acid as curing agent, the rupture of C—O bond in the five-membered heterocycle firstly takes place to release oxygen atoms and then does the C—H bond, which enable the molecular chain to cross-link and condense, then lead to the formation of three dimensional networking structure. With the increase of pyrolyzing temperature, the scission of methyl and the opening of furan ring are generated. As a result, the recomposition of molecular chain structure is generated and a hexatomic fused ring containing double bonds is built. The main volatile products during pyrolysis of furfural- acetone resin are H2O, and a small mount of CO, CO2 and CH4. At elevated temperatures, dehydrogenation takes place and hydrogen gas is evolved.展开更多
