Three narrow-mouthed frogs were collected in city drains of the Binjiang Forest Park, Shanghai. Based on subsequent examination and morphological characters, these specimens were identified as Kaloula borealis(Barbour, 1908). The species was mainly distributed in Northern China and Korea. It is a new amphibian record for Shanghai. We found the visible differences in male secondary sexual characteristics between our specimens and Beijing specimens. K. borealis was first described inhabiting urban greenlands which could benefit amphibian conservation in urban and urbanizing areas.展开更多

The capped langur is considered to be distributed in northeast India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and northwest Myanmar only (Brandon-Jones et al., 2004; Choudhury, 2008, 2014; Das et al., 2008; Groves, 2001). In our field survey, however, we obtained photos of the capped langur, demonstrating its existence in China. Following the species promotion of Shortridge's langur (Brandon-Jones et al., 2004; Groves, 2001) and the delimiting of its distribution range to northwestern Yunnan in China and northeastern Myanmar (Brandon-Jones et al., 2004; Cui et al.,展开更多

This species is mainly sympatric with A. blanfordi, and their habits and habitats support their close relationship within the cantoris group. In total,29 specimens of A. cantoris(n = 12) and A. blanfordi(n = 17) were compared morphologically using statistical methods. The occurrence of A. cantoris in Iran has been questioned for a long time by different herpetologists, and the distribution, ecology and taxonomy of this newly recorded species were investigated and provided in this paper. An updated identification key for the species of Acanthodactylus in Iran is given.展开更多

文摘DEAR EDITOR, The distribution of the capped langur (Trachypithecus pileatus) in China has become controversial since Shortridge's langur (Trachypithecus shortridgei) was upgraded to a full species. Following the species promotion of Shortridge's langur (Brandon-Jones et al., 2004; Groves, 2001) and the delimiting of its distribution range to northwestern Yunnan in China and northeastern Myanmar (Brandon-Jones et al., 2004; Cui et al.,
文摘The present paper deals with ten new species and one new record species of the Genus Bibio Geoffroy from China. The type specimens are kept in the Insect Collections of Beijing Agricultural University. 1. Bibio parvispinalis, sp. nov. (fig, 1) This new species is very similar to B. tenebrosus Coquilletti, but can be distinguished from the latter by the antenna 12-segmented, the last segment of palpi two times longe than wide, the spina of the front tibia rather sharp pointed, the tergum 9 of the

文摘This paper reported a new record of Orchidaceae from Guangxi,Galeola nudifolia Lour. This species was previously known from Hainan Province and Yunnan Province of China,India,Myanmar,Vietnam,Thailand,Malaysia,Indonesia and the Philippines. The new Orchidaceae record has broken the record of only one species of the genus Galeola Lour.in Guangxi, and it filled the gap in the northern part of the original distribution area, and proved that the species in general is in a continuous distribution state. The new Orchidaceae record in Guangxi is of great significance to the study of the distribution pattern and geographical origin of the species.

文摘A new record of Acanthodactylus cantoris from Sistan and Baluchistan in southeastern Iran is presented in this paper, and this lizard is found occurring in the coastal area of the Persian Gulf from Govater to Chabahar. An updated identification key for the species of Acanthodactylus in Iran is given.
