Based on the mechanism, a new purification method was studied. The method can be described as washing-drying-rewashing-drying. The experimental results indicate that the process is very efficient to remove impurities adsorbed by the precipitate when using NiCl2 and Na2CO3 as the raw materials. The finished product's contents of sodium and chlorine are both less than 0.01 wt%.展开更多

However, the main defect is that α-phase is difficult to synthesize and easily transformed to β-phase Ni(OH)2 upon aging in a strong alkaline solution. In this study, the Al-Co, Al-Yb, Yb-Co and Al-Yb-Co multiple doping was used respectively. By controlling the amount of sodium carbonate, the α-Ni(OH)2 was prepared by ultrasonic-assisted precipitation. And the influence of sodium carbonate on the crystalline phase and structure stability for alpha nickel hydroxide was studied. The results demonstrate that, with increasing amount, the biphase nickel hydroxide transforms to pure alpha nickel hydroxide gradually, and the structure stability is also improved. When the amount of sodium carbonate is 2 g, the sample still keeps α-Ni(OH)2 after being aged for 30 days, for Al-Yb-Co-Ni(OH)2. And when the amount is less than 2 g, the phase transformations exist in the samples with different extents. These results demonstrated that the amount of sodium carbonate is a critical factor to maintain the structural stability of α-Ni(OH)2.展开更多

Temperature programing oxidation test and Raman spectrum results indicated the formation of complex and ordered carbon structures at high deposition temperatures. The values of I(D)/I(G) of the deposited carbon reached 1.86, 1.30, and 1.22 in the first, second, and third stages, respectively. The structure of carbon in the second stage was similar to that in the third stage. Carbon deposited in the first stage rarely contained homogeneous pyrolytic deposit layers. A kinetic model was developed to analyze the carbon deposition behavior in the first stage. The rate-determining step of the first stage is supposed to be interfacial reaction. Based on the investigation of carbon deposition kinetics on nickel powders from different resources, carbon deposition rate is suggested to have a linear relation with the square of specific surface area of nickel particles.展开更多

The effects of NiCO3 content in the raw materials on the microstructure and magnetic properties of Ni-Zn ferrite powders were systematically studied. The Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The magnetic properties of the powders were evaluated by vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM). The results show that the introduction of NiCO3 into reactants improves the con- version percentage and refines the Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 particles. The increase of NiCO3 content enhances the magnetic properties of Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4. Particularly, the saturation magnetization reaches the maximum when the NiCO3 content is 3 at.%.展开更多

With the aid of ultrasonication, melamine- formaldehyde-tetraoxalyl-ethylenediamine chelating resins were grafted on activated carbon (MFT/AG). PdC12 sol was adsorbed on MFT/AC, which was then immersed in spent electroless nickel plating bath; then nano-nickel could be reduced by ascorbic acid to form a nano-nickel coating on the activated carbon composite (Ni/AC) in situ. The materials present were carefully examined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and electro- chemistry techniques. The resins were well distributed on the inside and outside surfaces of activated carbon with a size of 120 ± 30 nm in MFT/AC, and a great deal of nano-nickel particles were evenly deposited with a size of 3.8 ± 1.1 nm in Ni/MFT. Moreover, Ni/AC was successfully used as a catalyst for ultrasonic degradation of 2.6-dichloronhenol.展开更多
