The theory takes into account an adiabatic anharmonic coupling between the high-frequency N-H(D) stretching and the low-frequency intermolecular N...O stretching modes by considering that the effective angular frequency of the fast mode N-H(D) is assumed to be strongly dependent on the slow mode stretching coordinate N...O, the intrinsic anharmonicity of the low-frequency N...O mode through a Morse potential, Davydov coupling triggered by resonance exchange between the excited states of the fast modes of the two hydrogen bonds involved in the cyclic dimer, multiple Fermi resonances between the N-H(D) stretching and the overtone of the N-H(D) bending vibrations and the direct and indirect damping of the fast stretching modes of the hydrogen bonds and of the bending modes. The IR spectral density is computed within the linear response theory by Fourier transform of the autocorrelation function of the transition dipole moment operator of the N-H(D) bond. As a strong oxidizer,hypochlorite(Cl O^(-))are widely employed as bleaching agents and disinfectants.Determination of ClO^(-)is required to ensure bactericidal effects and avoid hazards caused by excessive residual ch...As a strong oxidizer,hypochlorite(Cl O^(-))are widely employed as bleaching agents and disinfectants.Determination of ClO^(-)is required to ensure bactericidal effects and avoid hazards caused by excessive residual chlorine.Herein,the derivative bicyclic 2-pyridone,namely DHIP-Py,was prepared successfully to establish a new ClO^(-)-quantitative method.The probe exhibits excellent Cl O^(-)selectivity over other ROS and anions/cations,high sensitivity(LOD=1.32μmol/L),fast response(<5 s),and wide-p H tolerance(pH4~10).Benefit from its good water solubility,DHIP-Py is well suited for water sample analysis and has been successfully applied to detect Cl O^(-)in real-world food and environmental samples,including tap water,bottled water and river water.The detection results were essentially identical to that of obtained from traditional DPD method.Moreover,visual detection of Cl O^(-)via filter paper-based solid sensor and imaging of ClO^(-)in Escherichia coli were also achieved by DHIP-Py.These satisfactory results demonstrate that this bicyclic 2-pyridone-based hypochlorite probe is a promising free chlorine chemosensor with great potential for analytical applications.展开更多

The results of the antimicrobial study...A series of benzimidazole bearing 2-pyridones 5a-k were synthesized and assessed in vitro for their activity as antimicrobial agents using the conventional broth dilution method. The results of the antimicrobial study revealed that compounds 5b, 5c, Sj and 5k exhibited substantial antibacterial activity while compound 5d emerged as amore potent antifungal agent compared to the standard drugs chloramphenicol and ketoconazole, respectively. It was observed that the presence of inductively electron withdrawing groups remarkably enhance the antibacterial activity of the newly synthesized compounds. Cytotoxicity studies suggested that none of the tested compounds exhibited any significant cytotoxic effects.展开更多

Nevertheless, the local hypoxic microenvir...Photodynamic therapy(PDT) has been gaining popularity in both scientific research and clinic applications due to its non-invasiveness and spatiotemporal targeting properties. Nevertheless, the local hypoxic microenvironment in tumor tissue impedes PDT universality. To overcome this drawback, a 2-pyridonebearing BODIPY photosensitizer was synthesized rationally and introduced to polyethyleneglycol-bpoly(aspartic acid) to form a photosensitizer-^(1)O_(2) generation, storage/release agent dual-loading system(PEG-b-PAsp-BODIPY). The investigation of the PDT effect at different illumination conditions in vitro and in vivo revealed that the system tremendously inhibited tumor proliferation, indicating that this new PEG-b-PAsp-BODIPY could act as a potentially effective photo therapeutic system for cancer therapeutics.展开更多
