A Study on the Educational Significance Guidance Plan Value of the Jumong Myth Using STEAM

Jumong is a legendary figure in Korean mythology.He is depicted as a genius archer,a brilliant mind with horses,a god who rules the rivers and the sky.Jumong is a mythical character who is believed to be of divine descent and to possess superhuman abilities that humans cannot match.The myth of Jumong is a very competitive content that can compete on a global scale.However,in order for it to be successful,it is necessary to be able to reinterpret our mythology to suit the times and reproduce it culturally.To this end,the realistic globalization of Korean classical literature should commence with the genre of Korean mythology.This paper presents the educational significance of the Jumong myth as a teaching-learning model,via STEAM(science,technology,engineering,arts,and mathematics),on the theme of Korean mythology.As we enter the era of artificial intelligence(AI)through the 4th Industrial Revolution,the most appropriate teaching and learning method,the convergence class,will provide an opportunity for students living in modern times to discover the cultural archetypes that allow them to recognise themselves as individuals and us as a collective,and to find the roots of the myth to positively renew their identity.Furthermore,it is my hope that they will rediscover and appreciate the representative work of Korean mythology,Gojomong,the eponymous story of Goguryeo.

A Tailor-made Data Quality Approach for Higher Educational Data

Purpose: This paper relates the definition of data quality procedures for knowledge organizations such as Higher Education Institutions. The main purpose is to present the flexible approach developed for monitoring the data quality of the European Tertiary Education Register(ETER) database, illustrating its functioning and highlighting the main challenges that still have to be faced in this domain.Design/methodology/approach: The proposed data quality methodology is based on two kinds of checks, one to assess the consistency of cross-sectional data and the other to evaluate the stability of multiannual data. This methodology has an operational and empirical orientation. This means that the proposed checks do not assume any theoretical distribution for the determination of the threshold parameters that identify potential outliers, inconsistencies, and errors in the data. Findings: We show that the proposed cross-sectional checks and multiannual checks are helpful to identify outliers, extreme observations and to detect ontological inconsistencies not described in the available meta-data. For this reason, they may be a useful complement to integrate the processing of the available information.Research limitations: The coverage of the study is limited to European Higher Education Institutions. The cross-sectional and multiannual checks are not yet completely integrated.Practical implications: The consideration of the quality of the available data and information is important to enhance data quality-aware empirical investigations, highlighting problems, and areas where to invest for improving the coverage and interoperability of data in future data collection initiatives.Originality/value: The data-driven quality checks proposed in this paper may be useful as a reference for building and monitoring the data quality of new databases or of existing databases available for other countries or systems characterized by high heterogeneity and complexity of the units of analysis without relying on pre-specified theoretical distributions.

Engagement and Commitment Among Teachers Working in Subsidized Secondary Education in Catalonia

This paper discusses the notion of commitment--a construct used in the psychology of work--and engagement, as hypothetically opposed to the concept of burnout used in the paradigm of positive psychology. The aim of this study is to analyze engagement in a group of 132 high school teachers from various schools in the private sector and identify its relationship with the commitment variable. The results of the work of this group in three dimensions are presented in this study： vigor, dedication, and absorption; the correlation data are also presented with organizational commitment in three dimensions： affective, normative and temporal （or continuity）. With these results the aim is to find predictive evidence among teachers who score significantly in the three dimensions of engagement and the three dimensions of commitment.

Type 2 Diabetes Wellness Program in a Faith-Based Organization

In this practicum, the program objective is to improve the health of Joseph’s Storehouse food bank recipients’ community in the Blessing Center (New Hope Free Clinic and Joseph’s food bank), Redlands, California. The approach is to implement primary prevention and secondary prevention activity to increase knowledge and skills of the clients and their families of how to prevent and control type 2 diabetes through a wellness program in the clinic. The practicum began January 2015 and ended April 2015. 53 food bank recipients (non-diabetic and diabetic) were recruited. A quasi-experimental study design, pre-test/posttest, was used for the study. The impact of the program targeted diverse audience, high risk ethnic groups, and improved knowledge, awareness, management, and positive behavioral change. The study implication for public health promotion specialists is to narrow venues targeting the most vulnerable populations to promote and reduce type 2 diabetes.

Research on the Dynamic Relationships among Taiwan’s Early Childhood Education and Its Stakeholders: The System Dynamics Perspective

In Taiwan,the low birth rate has become one of the most critical problems faced by the government and educational institutions at all levels.The enrolling student number of kindergartens perhaps is the most directly affected by such trend.The purpose of this study aims at constructing a system dynamics model to depict the relationships between the preschool children and their stakeholders for deducing the evolutionary trends of,and the interactions of,governmental policies and the operations of the early childhood education institutions.Through the interpretation of policies and simulation analysis of the twenty-year growth trend related to the child population in Taiwan,this study found that governmental policies and the promotion of education and care services have a positive effect on the growth of all levels of kindergarten classes.Besides,the relationship between the education and care service staff and the kindergarten play a causal balancing role in our proposed model.We suggest that the system dynamics model proposed by this study can help to observe the dynamic relationships formed by the stakeholders in preschool education and care system based on the“joint responsibility”of Taiwan’s early childhood education.

Educational Improvement Science:The Art of the Improving Organization

Purpose:To advocate educational improvement science(EIS)as an emerging transdisciplinary field,I reflect on the three major pathways of educational advancement in human history,discern the misuses and pitfalls of reform,and theorize how education can be improved to better serve its mission.Design/Approach/Methods:Employing a multiperspectival approach,I critically re-examine educational reforms and improvements worldwide and conceptualize the emerging transdisciplinary field through an extensive literature review,etymological analysis,international comparisons,and socio-historical,-cultural and-philosophical reflections.Findings:In this paper,I advance the concept of neo-improvementalism for EIS by elucidating its philosophical assumptions,disciplinary fundamentals,and theoretical frameworks through historical and comparative lenses.I identify and construct disciplinary knowledge of EIS comprising two categories,namely,subject matter knowledge and profound knowledge,adopted from improvement science.I then highlight three methodological approaches of EIS and the building of professional improvement communities empowering individual and institutional improvement capabilities.I propose that EIS is the art of the improving organization for classes,schools,and/or more broadly defined educational agencies.Originality/Value:This study recognizes the significance of EIS and research thereon,especially discipline-building and exploration based on local characteristics in a global vision,and the cultivation of new frontiers of educational research and practices.

Pharmaceutical education in China has evolved from the stages of scale expansion to quality improvement.In order to improve the quality and provide guidance for pharmaceutical education,the Ministry of Education has successively established several pharmaceutical education steering committees.The establishment and development of these committees are closely related to the current development of pharmaceutical education and industry in China.They have prompted the development of pharmaceutical education by providing guidance on related theories,policies,experience and information.This article is to present the establishment,development,current status and memberships of pharmaceutical education steering committees in China.

Overall, General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry is a very useful text to support a twosemester undergraduate course series in chemistry for health sciences students. Its strengths are the use of the P.A.V.E. way to student learning applications. It is very obvious that the author has the background and the preparation of the student taking the course(s) in mind when she was writing the textbook.

职业教育新形态教材内容的设计与组织研究

针对职业教育新形态教材研究与开发中存在的不足,提出了职业教育新形态教材内容的设计与组织逻辑的内在要求,通过对理论知识与操作技能概念、情境性学习理论、图式理论、技能学习相关理论、职业道德及职业精神培育相关理论的分析探讨,形成了指导新形态教材内容的设计与组织的创新性依据。据此,设计了新形态教材内容的设计与组织模型,并从纸质教材的理论知识设计与组织、技能知识设计与组织、思政育人设计与组织、教材开发系统和数字资源系统等方面进行了可行性论证。

全球治理视角下“双碳”人才培养机制——基于能源环境类国际组织职员的数据

“碳达峰、碳中和”是我国“十四五”时期生态文明建设整体布局的重要内容,亟须一批高素质专业人才发挥引领作用。在全球治理背景下思考这一问题,需要聚焦能源、环境类国际组织,对其职员的素质能力进行分析。研究发现,“双碳”类国际组织对于较低级别职员的发展有较高的期望,体现在选拔、绩效考核和晋升等多个环节。基于此,在“双碳”人才培养方面,需要统筹协调机制、完善科研体系、建设交叉学科专业、构建高水平人才培养体系,实现高校、政府部门和国际组织的协同联动,才能推进“双碳”人才高质量发展。

农科特色有机化学课程的教学探索与实践

立足高等农林教育,从教学案例、教学方法、教师团队建设等方面对有机化学课程教学进行了探索和实践。教学实践表明,激发了学生的学习兴趣,拓展了学生的视野,助力学生领略了有机化学研究前沿(尤其是与农科交叉融合应用前沿)魅力,培养了学生的文化素养、职业素养和科学素养,塑造了学生“知农爱农”的情怀,厚植了学生的家国情怀;实现了知识传授、能力培养与价值引领的同向同行和交相辉映,有效解决了公共基础课与专业教育需求不能完全匹配的问题,充分发挥了课程在农科人才培养中的作用。

深化职业教育产教融合的关键是实现跨界组织实体化运作

深化产教融合是职业教育实现高质量发展的核心举措。改革开放以来,我国职业教育产教融合在政策牵引和实践演绎的相互作用下,展现了由松散到紧密、由浅层次到深层次的演变历程。但长期以来,产教“融而不合”、校企“跨而不实”的现实困境始终难以破题。伴随市域产教联合体、行业产教融合共同体等新型产教跨界组织的产生与发展,以制度突破为基本前提,推进跨界组织的实体化运作成为深化职业教育产教融合的关键。而实现这一点,需要跨界组织具有符合实际的组织结构、发挥实效的主导权力、约束有力的职责分工、稳定的利益共享机制、有效的激励保障政策,也需要多方主体协同有效的共建共治。

何以补齐中小学体育教师资源短板?——基于深化体教融合典型实践的多案例分析

基于5个典型案例,依据资源依赖理论聚焦体育教师资源、组织结构关系和效能提升3个主题及其相互内在关联因素,归纳出市场运行机制、校际合作机制、政社合作机制、政策支持机制和行动补给机制5种补齐普通中小学体育教师资源短板的适配机制。体育、教育等行政组织及普通中小学、体校、青少年体育俱乐部等组织形成恰适性治理逻辑、网络化治理格局和互补型治理方式的组织结构关系,实现对国家深化体教融合等顶层设计的政策创新、满足参与行动组织资源诉求和学校体育教育资源再生的目标。以此为导向构建更具包容性的补齐中小学体育教师资源短板的理论模型,以及多种机制共存的学校体育资源供给路径。

普惠性视域下社会组织参与老年教育的实践思考

伴随着我国人口老龄化的加剧,大力发展老年教育成为我国的重要国策。老年教育作为一项民生事业,关乎老年人的生存质量和权益保障,需要贯彻普惠性价值理念,将普惠性作为主要目标贯彻落实到老年教育实践中。长期以来我国老年教育主要靠政府自上而下推动,导致老年教育供给效率低下,老年人的教育需求得不到满足。而社会组织参与老年教育,实际是自下而上扩大老年教育供给,可以确保让更多老年人老有所学。普惠性视域下我国社会组织参与老年教育已形成了四种模式:政府主导型、自主办学型、共学养老型、市场嵌入型。但发展中也遇到了一些现实困境,如法规政策的制约、场地问题、经费问题、参与意识问题以及服务水平与服务质量问题。为此,提出普惠性视域下进一步推进社会组织参与老年教育的策略,如完善法规、政策扶持,拓展制度空间;提供场地设施支持,夯实基础性阵地;加大经费扶持,确保有效运行;优化宣传途径,激发参与活力;规范管理,提高服务水平和质量。

土力学教学中思政元素的有机融入

高校专业课程中应融入思政元素,实现协同育人。但是如何在专业课中有机融入思政元素,达到“如花在春”“润物无声”的效果,仍然需要进一步探索研究。本文以土力学专业课为例,在教学目标中增加了思政目标,从专业、行业、国家、国际、文化、历史等角度深入挖掘专业知识中蕴含的思政元素,在教学案例中有机融入。这样由面到点、层层深入地剖析了从传统专业课到课程思政的实现途径,并结合自身的课程思政教学经历,提出了修身、建库、研讨等提升教师课程思政教学能力的方法。

国际组织在全球教育治理中发挥着重要作用,对世界教育改革和发展产生了深刻影响。世界银行、经合组织、联合国教科文组织三大国际组织在参与全球教育治理进程中,其价值理念都呈现出新的转型特征,并直接影响着其参与全球教育治理的行动路向。综合分析,三大国际组织全球教育治理呈现出显著的时代特质:在治理范式上,教育知识生产功用共向彰显;在治理取向上,融合与分离中彰显独特价值;在治理生态上,价值转型与社会思潮相伴而生。

网络名师工作室的内涵与使命:引领教育适应新常态

以2020年春季为分水岭,教育领域正在从线下教学常态向混合教学新常态转型,为了探索转型后的教学样态,我国加强了基层教学组织的建设。网络名师工作室就是在网络学习空间与实体学习空间共同存在的背景下,为适应教学变革的现实需求,由具有独特的空间思维与空间应用专长的教学名师领衔所建立的、率先开展新质教育研究与实践的教师专业成长共同体。通过梳理当前的工作室建设过程中存在的窘境,并结合对江苏地区已经建立的网络名师工作室的调研分析,研究提出,网络名师工作室应当率先思考如何顺应混合教学的现实存在,如何形成基于数据的教学决策,如何组织适应个性的教学活动,并将信息化教学变革作为关键任务。工作室不同于一般的基层教学组织,需要更加强调事务的“实”、问题的“真”、过程的“活”,文章还就如何发挥工作室的三大效应进行了分析,并对未来发展进行了思考。
