About three-fourths of the earth is covered by the seas. It plays the vital role in two important functions from ancient time known as the means of communication and the source of huge living and non-living natural resources. At present, the countries are becoming very much concerned about their marine resources to resolve many of the present and future challenges of their economies. Generally for Bangladesh, ocean is contributing a significant role to its overall socio-economic progress through rising up the economic activities across the country and especially to the coastal zone at southern part. This paper investigates how much Bangladesh is capable to take of or handle the challenges to become a middle income country through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition, it has attempted with a closer-look to find out the barriers or limitations of these activities from different angles if exist.展开更多

Emerging technologies ranging from big data, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things to artificial intelligence(AI) have maintained a dynamic development. New phenomena such as “new retail” and “new manufacturing” are persistently changing people's daily lives and gradually influencing human values and notions in social governance. BRICS countries have accelerated the innovation and development of the digital economy by constantly improving relevant cooperation mechanisms. “Digital BRICS” has already become an important force to promote world economic growth and enhance the reform of the global economic governance system. The development of the digital economy per se has unique characteristics. Thus, BRICS countries are faced with practical challenges in deepening cooperation. Particularly, they must reconsider the national security risks created by the transnational diffusion of technologies and the implications for the international order stemming from the excessive expansion of the power of digital giants. BRICS countries can continue to bridge differences and divergences among each other by strengthening functional cooperation in joint efforts to create greater room for shared digital benefits and open up a new future for the digital economy characterized by harmony, cooperation, and coexistence.展开更多

However, their growth patterns are obsolete, impeding the quality and competitiveness of their economic growth, while simultaneously threatening the sustainability of their economic convergence with developed nations. Transforming the domestic growth pattern-the solution to the middle-income trap-has therefore become a key priority for each of these economies. This paper presents a comparative analysis of how to transform the pattern of economic growth in BRICS and achieve sustainable economic convergence with a comparative analysis of the pattern of economic growth and problems among BRICS countries.展开更多

We cannot use the commonmethod to forecast its future economy level. This paper establishes an economic level forecastmodel of the countries whose economy is in the take off because of the stimulation of model country. The enlightenment of the model is from physics. If there are two substances, A and B, and a mediumbetween them, according to physics, when substance A is hotter than B, B's temperature willinevitably rise and close to that of A. Thus, this system tends to be a state of balance. Threefactors affect heat conduction between substance A and B. They are the difference of temperaturebetween two substances, the conductivity of medium and the characteristics of themselves. The modelis testified through two examples. And then we forecast the economic development level of China inlong term. This paper raises a model to solve the problem of research approaches. However, sincethere are some limitations on data source, problems will appear. For example, in certain years, ourforecast results do not suit the real situation. But in the long term, the tendency is accurate. Then this model can be amended in accordance with different situations.展开更多

A cross country comparison is done from global, country groups, and individual country perspective respectively. The findings include that the global trade in creative industry is growing steadily in terms of both absolute value and relative value. The trade reliance of major countries in creative products is getting deeper. The trade pattern in creative industry is taking shape. China's future markets in creative products include developed countries and high income developing economies. In view of this development trend, China's producers should make necessary adjustment in their production and market strategy so that they will not miss the future opportunities.展开更多
