Six-Dimensional Guidance: The Strategies of Thinking Quality Cultivation in Senior High School English Discourse Learning

Taking the discourse learning of the new senior high school English textbook published by the People’s Education Press as an example,combined with the“six-dimensional guidance”deep reading strategy,and through the six-skill training strategies of“memory skill training,understanding skill training,application skill training,analytical skill training,evaluation skill training,creative skill training,”this paper aims to cultivate students’thinking profundity,logic,flexibility,sensitivity,criticality,and originality.It also promotes the real implementation of senior high school English deep reading that points to the cultivation of thinking quality in classroom teaching,and realizes the transformation from“conventional reading”to“deep reading”that reflects the core literacy of the discipline.

The Translation of Allusions in Political Discourse:An Intertextuality Perspective

drawn from ancient classics are the treasures of traditional Chinese culture.The allusions used in Xi Jinping:The Governance of China illustrate a distinctive feature of political discourse,and the publication of its English version provides a valuable opportunity for the study of allusions in translated political discourse.With the English translations of 241 allusions collected from two volumes of the book,we classified these allusions into three categories of history,culture,and literature based on their original sources.Then we analyzed the strategies used in translating the allusions,and provided typical examples to illustrate the use of such translation strategies for each category.Finally,we tried to account for the use of these strategies in light of the intertextuality theory.

A Corpus-based Analysis of Discourse Strategies in Theoretical RAs:from Metadiscourse Perspective

Using the Hyland & Tse's classification of metadiscourse,the present study conducts a corpus-based analysis of RAs with non-IMRD structure from the perspective of metadiscourse analysis,in order to probe into the employment of discourse strategies and their corresponding communicative goals.

Chinese-to-English Translation of Publicity on Chinese Minority Culture： Discourse Ideology and Translation Strategies

Discourse ideology refers to the position, attitude and guideline employed by a writer or speaker constructing a discourse in relation to the readers/hearers. This paper defines the notion of discourse ideology in the practice of translation, highlights the relationship between discourse ideology and the translator＇s subjectivity, and illustrates the translation strategies appropriate to the context of publicity of Chinese minority culture to the readers outside China. A tentative conclusion is drawn that the top-down approach from discourse ideology to translation strategies and the bottom-up approach from translation strategies to discourse ideology complement with each other in the Chinese-to-English translation of publicity on Chinese minority culture.

Discourse Marker Na(那)as an Interpersonal-Level Compensatory Strategy in Clinical Interviews

Discourse markers(DMs) are characterized by multifunctionality in different contexts.This study addressed the use of the Chinese DM,na(那),as a solution to topical divergence,during clinical interactions with right-hemisphere-damaged(RHD) patients.Drawing on data collected from clinical interviews between psychotherapists and RHD patients,this study examined the functions of na in response to RHD topical divergence,focusing on the topic and attitudinal aspects.It was found that na was mainly employed by psychotherapists to mark a reproffer of interview topics(i.e.,an attempt to return to earlier topics),and a display of disalignment and disaffiliation with RHD topical divergence.These functions of na reflect the psychotherapists’ attempts to overcome communicative problems arising from RHD topical divergence,so as to ensure the achievement of the communicative goal.Thus,na can be interpreted as a compensatory strategy for dealing with RHD topical divergence on an interpersonal level.These findings not only expand our knowledge about the function spectrum of na,but also offer insights for RHD patients’ interlocutors to enhance conversational communication with RHD patients via the compensatory strategy.

Discourse Construction of the Belt and Road Initiative in British and American Media:The Perspective of Proximization Theory

This study takes the reports on China’s“One Belt,One Road”in the British and American media as the object of study,mainly by collecting more than 10,000 words from the relevant reports published in the British media The Times,The Daily Telegraph and The Guardian from 2019-2022,to create a British corpus.A number of US media outlets,such as the New York Times,Los Angeles Times and Washington Post,were also collected to extract over 10,000 words of relevant corpus to create a US corpus.The BFSU Qualitative Coder 1.1,AntConc 3.5.7 and the LLX2 chi-square test were used to analyse the perceptions of the British and American corpora on China’s“One Belt,One Road”initiative,and to explore the temporal,spatial and value convergence of speakers and addressees in the corpus in the context of convergence theory.In this paper,we explore the specific distribution and pragmatic functions of the convergence of speakers and addressees in the corpus,in order to explore and reveal the different features of the application of convergence strategies in the British and American corpora in relation to China’s“One Belt,One Road”initiative.

Analysis of discourse strategies by Faulkner in The sound and the fury

The sound and the fury is regarded as one of the greatest novels in the 20^th century and as a work of great brilliance, even genius. People have been studying it from the literary point of view or other disciplines, but not from the perspective of discourse analysis. This paper intends to make a tentative analysis of peculiar discourse strategies adopted by Faulkner in this novel from the discoursal point of view.

Discourse-Based Communication Strategies of ESL Learners

Communication strategies have commonly been used by ESL learners, especially the learners with low proficiency to fulfill their needs to communicate. The paper attempts to classify communication strategies learners used in discourse and investigate the role of these strategies in second language acquisition.

Discourse Coherence in College English Reading and Writing

The development of reading and writing ability in English are the major goals in College English Curriculum Requirements(2020).The paper discusses the importance of discourse coherence in teaching reading and writing.Some parts from textbook Going Global(Elementary)are used as examples to discuss the issue.Coherence is very crucial in reading and writing process and some processing strategies are suggested to better learners’discourse understanding.The paper addresses the issue of local and global coherence and then proceed to analyze the teaching material form Going Global.It is emphasized that learners’consciousness about local and global coherence should be raised in both their reading and writing process.And some teaching implications and learning strategies are suggested based on the discussion.

文化强国背景下中国学术话语权评价体系的构建与提升路径探析——以中国社会科学学科为例

[目的/意义]目前在文化强国战略背景下,我国学术话语权正处在重要的发展阶段,学术话语权评价有助于促进中国学术应对新时代发展的挑战,推动中国特色学术话语权国际化和本土化,明晰未来中国学术话语权发展的总体方向与具体举措。[方法/过程]本文采用文献与网络调研、比较研究、科学计量学等方法,系统地梳理了国内外学术话语权的基本理论、实践脉络,立足于中国学术话语权国内外发展实践,基于学术主体视角,参照相关学术成果评价指标体系,并对中国社会科学学科进行了实证研究,在此基础上,进一步思考和分析了提升中国学术话语权的现实路径。[结论/发现]中国学术话语权评价的核心要素主要由学术引领力、学术竞争力、学术创新力和学术传播力4部分组成,通过实证分析发现中国社会科学学科的多数学科在国际上的地位还比较低。最后提出了提升中国学术话语权国际影响和地位可从这4个方面进行全面提升。

高等教育国际话语权的世界格局与中国行动方略

中国高等教育国际话语权既表征着国际社会对中国高等教育质量与水平的认可程度,也反映着中国式高等教育现代化的国际影响力。构建与提升中国高等教育国际话语权,既是争取中国国际话语权的战略之源,也是为世界高等教育多样化发展贡献中国方案的必然之举,还是加快建设世界重要人才中心和创新高地的基础支撑。然而,当前中国尚未掌握作为世界高等教育第一大国与自身综合国力和国际地位相匹配的高等教育国际话语权。相对于传统高等教育发达国家而言,中国高等教育国际话语权依然处于弱势地位。中国高等教育国际话语权的构建与提升是一个复杂而艰难的过程,需要坚持实事求是的基本原则,坚持夯实国内根基、布局发展中国家和着眼发达国家“三位一体”协同推进,加快构建中国特色高等教育话语体系,保持坚定的战略定力。

“双碳”战略下的德国气候话语语用研究

研究立足于“双碳”战略大背景,基于语用学视角下的预设和言语行为理论,借助语料库工具,建立联邦政府应对气候问题演讲语料库;综合运用定量定性研究方法,从词汇、句式、语篇层面解读德国气候话语的语用策略。研究发现,德国政府关于气候问题的演讲话语实现了其气候话语理念在环境领域的传播,并阐释了其应对气候变化问题的态度,同时扩大和巩固了气候话语权,提升了国际领导力和软实力。在推广模式上,德国政府通过预设触发语实施形象塑造战略与情感传递战略,增强了气候话语影响力。最后提出了其对我国气候话语体系建设的几点启示。

青岛故事融入国际话语体系的困境及优化策略

讲好“青岛故事”,融入国际话语体系,是提升青岛国际形象,彰显青岛国际地位的重要实践方式。基于国外NOW英语新闻语料库和国内主流英文媒体对于“青岛故事”的报道语料,对比外媒“他塑”与国内媒体“自塑”的青岛形象,发现其对外传播存在“说了传不开、传开叫不响”的现实困境,主要体现在叙事主体单一化、叙事理念相对滞后、叙事模态不够丰富,叙事视角存在偏差。针对这些困境,提出了实现多元参与、坚持理念引领、丰富叙事模态、转变叙事视角的优化策略。

“讲述美国故事”的霸权外交叙事模式:解构与批评

20世纪40年代,美国为塑造其全球大国的话语霸权,启动了“向世界讲述美国故事”的外交战略传播工程。“向世界讲述美国故事”有其特殊的历史动因、发展脉络和叙事模式及策略。研究发现,美国通过整合对外传播资源和先进信息技术,建构了一套服务其国家利益的霸权外交叙事模式,逐渐成长为一个与其综合国力相匹配的国际话语权超级大国。美国为了打造全政府、全社会、全媒体的外交叙事体系,在推动跨部门联动、法制化构建和双轨并行的同时,辅之以故事情节塑造、人物形象凸显、多重视角呈现和数据信息操纵等多元叙事策略。为了打破美国的叙事霸权,维护中国的叙事主权,中国应加快推进“讲好中国故事”的大国外交叙事体系建设,敢于揭露和反制美国对华污名化叙事,不断提升中国的国际话语权。

文化话语视角下的城市国际化研究--探索杭州全球传播的策略

城市国际化是当今中国城市发展乃至实现国家战略目标的重要手段,而城市国际化本身必须依托全球传播。尽管城市国际化问题受到学界越来越多的关注,然而至今尚未有研究从全球传播,特别是文化话语的角度进行全面系统的理论和实证分析。本文以文化话语研究为框架,勾勒城市国际化的全球传播图景,并以杭州国际化实践为实例,分别从交际的主体、言行、渠道等不同方面入手,对政府、企业、旅游、会展、会议、赛事、节日等进行分析,重点发掘、梳理、评估其交际策略,并在此基础上为中国城市国际化的全球传播谋划新战略。

基于体育全球治理的中国体育国际议程设置能力:困境与对策

运用文献资料法,以中国体育国际议程设置能力为研究对象,在体育全球治理视阈下,明确体育国际议程设置能力的概念及内涵,在此基础之上,提出影响中国体育国际议程设置能力的因素,依据该因素找出提升中国体育国际议程设置能力存在的困境,最后提出提升对策。目的是通过提升体育国际议程设置能力积极参与体育全球治理,助力体育强国建设,推动构建人类命运共同体。研究认为,中国体育国际议程设置能力的内涵包括议题框定能力、属性叙事能力、平台搭建能力、受众掌控能力;提升中国体育国际议程设置能力面临着话语制高点被西方占据,议题框定主体较为单一;中国特色话语体系缺位,国际舆论环境不容乐观;数字媒体平台搭建遇阻,对外交往布局尚待铺开;有的放矢融通中外不足,体育全球治理人才缺失四个方面的困境;提升中国体育国际议程设置能力要增强国际议程设置意识,探寻中外共享议题共识;建构本土体育话语体系,营造有利外部舆论环境;打造多种旗舰媒体平台,拓宽体育对外交往布局;广泛调研国际社会公众,培养体育全球治理人才。

基于国家安全战略的美俄网络空间安全观对比及启示

[研究目的]网络空间大国博弈影响国家安全,对美俄网络安全观的对比研究,可为研究全球网络空间博弈及制定我国网络空间战略提供必要的借鉴。[研究方法]以网络安全观理论为基础,以冷战后美俄国家安全战略为样本,通过内容分析对美俄网络安全话语演变的特点、认知逻辑与差异原因开展对比研究。[研究结论]研究表明,美俄网络安全观演变与地缘政治密切相关,两国不断因势调整,在网络安全理念、网络安全战略、网络安全维护手段上呈现内外、技术、主权等差异特征。我国高度关注全球主要国家网络安全战略的动态,通过健全战略体系、完善规则体系、强化防御体系,不断推进我国网络空间安全战略升级。
