Based on high order dynamic neural network, this paper presents the tracking problem for uncertain nonlinear composite system, which contains external disturbance, whose nonlinearities are assumed to be unknown. A smooth controller is designed to guarantee a uniform ultimate boundedness property for the tracking error and all other signals in the dosed loop. Certain measures are utilized to test its performance. No a priori knowledge of an upper bound on the “optimal” weight and modeling error is required; the weights of neural networks are updated on-line. Numerical simulations performed on a simple example illustrate and clarify the approach. 展开更多

The local potentials of the composite at higher harmonics are given both in the region of local inclusion particles and in the local host region under the external AC electric field. All effective nonlinear responses of the composite and the relationship between the effective nonlinear responses at the fundamental frequency and third harmonics are also studied for spherical coated inclusion in a dilute limit. 展开更多

This article presents an efficient parallel processing approach for solving the opti- mal control problem of nonlinear composite systems. In this approach, the original high-order coupled nonlinear two-point boundary value problem (TPBVP) derived from the Pontrya- gin's maximum principle is first transformed into a sequence of lower-order deeoupled linear time-invariant TPBVPs. Then, an optimal control law which consists of both feedback and forward terms is achieved by using the modal series method for the derived sequence. The feedback term specified by local states of each subsystem is determined by solving a ma- trix Riccati differential equation. The forward term for each subsystem derived from its local information is an infinite sum of adjoint vectors. The convergence analysis and parallel processing capability of the proposed approach are also provided. To achieve an accurate feedforward-feedbaek suboptimal control, we apply a fast iterative algorithm with low com- putational effort. Finally, some comparative results are included to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. 展开更多

Transient performance for output regulation problems of linear discrete-time systems with input saturation is addressed by using the composite nonlinear feedback(CNF) control technique. The regulator is designed to be an additive combination of a linear regulator part and a nonlinear feedback part. The linear regulator part solves the regulation problem independently which produces a quick output response but large oscillations. The nonlinear feedback part with well-tuned parameters is introduced to improve the transient performance by smoothing the oscillatory convergence. It is shown that the introduction of the nonlinear feedback part does not change the solvability conditions of the linear discrete-time output regulation problem. The effectiveness of transient improvement is illustrated by a numeric example. 展开更多

However, with the virtue of the CNF control, thetransient performance of the closed-loop system can be improvedby carefully designing the linear part and the nonlinear part of theCNF control law. This paper investigates the cooperative output regulation problem of linear multi-agent systems with a linear exogenous system(exo-system).The network topology is described by a directed graph which contains a directed spanning tree with the exo-system as the root.Aiming at improving the transient performance of the multi-agent systems,a dynamic control law is developed by the composite nonlinear feedback(CNF)control technique.In particular,a distributed dynamic compensator independent of the interaction on the compensator states of agents among the network,is adopted.The solvability condition for the cooperative output regulation problem is obtained using the small-gain theory,which will not be destroyed by adding the nonlinear feedback part of the CNF control law.It is also shown that in the case with the exo-system not diverging exponentially,the small-gain condition can be guaranteed using the low-gain design.Finally,simulation results illustrate that the proposed CNF control law improves the transient performance for the cooperative output regulation of linear multi-agent systems. 展开更多

This paper presents an optimization method of designing the integral sliding mode (ISM) based composite nonlinear feedback (CNF) controller for a class of low order linear systems with input saturation. The optimal CNF control is first designed as a nominal control to yield high tracking speed and low overshoot. The selection of all the tuning parameters for the CNF control law is turned into a minimization problem and solved automatically by particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. Subsequently, the discontinuous control law is introduced to reject matched disturbances. Then, the optimal ISM-CNF control law is achieved as the sum of the optimal CNF control law and the discontinuous control law. The effectiveness of the optimal ISM-CNF controller is verified by comparing with a step by step designed one. High tracking performance is achieved by applying the optimal ISM-CNF controller to the tracking control of the micromirror. 展开更多

This research explores the nonlinear bending behaviors of functionally graded carbon nanotube-reinforced(FG-CNTR)shallow arches with unmovable simply supported ends and clarnped-clamped ends;these arches are subjected to a uniform radial pressure and rest on a nonlinear elastic foundation.The temperature-dependent material properties of the arches are considered.Within the framework of Reddy shear deformation theory possessing von Karman nonlinearity,the motion equations and boundary conditions for the FG-CNTR arches are determined by the Euler-Lagrange variational principle.Then,a two-step perturbation technique is adopted to determine the load-deflection relationship analytically.To verify the validity of the developed model and related perturbation solutions,a numerical investigation is conducted for shallow arches with five distribution patterns of carbon nanotube(CNT)reinforcements uniaxially aligned in the axial direction.Finally,the influences of various factors,including the elastic foundation,layout type,and volume fraction of CNTs and geometric factors,on the nonlinear behaviors of FG-CNTR shallow arches are examined.The obtained results show that the load deflection curves exhibit less snap-through instability as the CNT volume fraction increases.The transverse shear stress versus the thickness of FG-CNTR shallow arches is markedly affected by the layout type and content of reinforcements. 展开更多

Remote sensing image registration is still a challenging task owing to the significant influence of nonlinear differences between remote sensing images.To solve this problem,this paper proposes a novel approach with regard to feature-based remote sensing image registration.There are two key contributions:1)we bring forward an improved strategy of composite nonlinear diffusion filtering according to the scale factors in multi-scale space and 2)we design a gradually decreasing resolution of multi-scale pyramid space.And a binary code string is served as feature descriptors to improve matching efficiency.Extensive experiments of different categories of remote image datasets on feature extraction and feature registration are performed.The experimental results demonstrate the superiority of our proposed scheme compared with other classical algorithms in terms of correct matching ratio,accuracy and computation efficiency. 展开更多
