The problem of observer-based robust predictive control is studied for the singular systems with norm-bounded uncertainties and time-delay, and the design method of robust predictive observer-based controller is proposed. By constructing the Lyapunov function with the error terms, the infinite time domain "min-max" optimization problems are converted into convex optimization problems solving by the linear matrix inequality (LMI), and the sufficient conditions for the existence of this control are derived. It is proved that the robust stability of the closed-loop singular systems can be guaranteed by the initial feasible solutions of the optimization problems, and the regular and the impulse-free of the singular systems are also guaranteed. A simulation example illustrates the efficiency of this method. 展开更多

In this paper, a new adaptive fuzzy backstepping control approach is developed for a class of nonlinear systems with unknown time-delay and unmeasured states. Using fuzzy logic systems to approximate the unknown nonlinear functions, a fuzzy state observer is designed for estimating the unmeasured states. On the basis of the state observer and applying the backstepping technique, an adaptive fuzzy observer control approach is developed. The main features of the proposed adaptive fuzzy control approach not only guarantees that all the signals of the closed-loop system are semiglobally uniformly ultimately bounded, but also contain less adaptation parameters to be updated on-line. Under the case where the original controller cannot stabilize the faulty system, multiple adaptive controllers are designed and a suitable switching logic is incorporated to ensure the closed-loop system stability and state tracking. New delay-independent sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities based on piecewise Lyapunov stability theory. On the other hand, adaptive laws for on-line updating of some of the controller parameters are also designed to compensate the effect of stuck failures. Finally, simulation results for reference [1] model show that the design is feasible and efficient. 展开更多

The states of the system are not all measurable and an observer is constructed to estimate the states. If a linear matrix inequality (LMI) is solvable, the gains of the controller and observer can be obtained from the solution of the LMI. The observer and controller are dependent on the size of time delay and on the size of delay derivative. Without changing the structure of the system, an Hoo states observer is designed for NCS with short time-delay. Based on the designed states observer, a robust fault detection approach is proposed for NCS. In addition, an optimization method for the selection of the detection threshold is introduced for better tradeoff between the robustness and the sensitivity. Based on parameter-dependent Lyapunov functions, the Gl2 and GH2 norm expressed in terms of LMI (Linear Matrix Inequality) characterizations are further generalized to cope with the robust analysis for convex polytopic uncertain system. Robust state-feedback controller synthesis conditions are also derived for this class of uncertain systems. Using the above results, multi-objective state-feedback controller synthesis procedures which involve the LMI optimization technique are developed and less conservative than the existing one. A method of designing robust adaptive observer for nonlinear continuous-time systems with time-delays is presented.It is assumed that the nonlinear functions of the system satisfy Lipschitz condition.The observer is derived considering plant disturbances,structured parameter uncertainties and unknown parameters.Like any other adaptive observer for nonlinear systems with ideal working conditions,it also simultaneously estimates both the states and unknown parameters.This property is very much useful for many applications like fault diagnosis.The convergence of the state errors and estimated unknown parameters are analysed by H_(∞)-control.The sufficient conditions for the existence of the observer are determined and expressed in linear matrix inequality form.With the help of a numerical example,the effectiveness of the proposed observer is demonstrated. 展开更多

The key ideas are to construct a piecewise quadratic Lyapunov function to guarantee the stability of the closed-loop systems, approximate polytopic operating regions by ellipsoids, and use the singular value decomposition technique to treat the constraint of matrix equality. It is shown that the suggested control method can be formulated as linear matrix inequalities that are numerically feasible with commer- cially available software. This paper addresses robust controller design for uncertain linear systems via a dynamic observer-based controller. A dynamic observer is an alternative structure for a classical observer which can be regarded as a general form of a usual observer and has additional degrees of freedom in the observer structure. Using this new observer structure, a new observer-based controller for linear systems is proposed. Some strict linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) have been given to find the dynamic observer parameters and controller gain. It is shown that dynamic observer can be used effectively for tackling the drawbacks of the classical observer-based robust controller design methods. As an advantage, LMIs are derived even in the presence of uncertainties in system, input and output matrices simultaneously, whereas by using the traditional observer, bilinear matrix inequalities (BMIs) are given in the presence of such uncertainties. Moreover, the proposed LMIs do not imply the equality constraint. Simulation results are used to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed design technique. 展开更多

The problem that is addressed in this study is to design a decentralized robust guaranteed cost state feedback controller such that the closed-loop system is not only regular, impulse-free and stable, but also guarantees an adequate level of performance for all admissible uncertainties. A sufficient condition for the existence of the decentralized robust guaranteed cost state feedback controllers is proposed in terms of a linear matrix inequality (LMI) via LMI approach. When this condition is feasible, the desired state feedback decentralized robust guaranteed cost controller gain matrices can be obtained. They allow the design of a controller for an uncertain process, either continuous or discrete-time, without zeros, and with measurable state. The controller guarantees that the control system is Type 1 and has the desired constant gain and poles or that the control system tracks, with a specified maximum error and with a specified maximum time constant, a generic reference with bounded derivative (variation in the discrete-time case), also in the presence of a generic disturbance with bounded derivative (variation). In addition, it is considered the case in which the reference is known a priori. The utility and the efficiency of the proposed methods are illustrated with attractive and significant examples of motion control and temperature control. This book is useful for the design of control systems, especially for manufacturing systems, that are versatile, fast, precise and robust. 展开更多

The controller can not only stabilize the time-delay system, but also make the H∞ norm of the closed-loop system be less than a given bound. An adaptive sliding mode controller with a disturbance observer(ASMC-DO) is proposed for the control of a single-input and single-output(SISO) servo system which has uncertain parameters, nonlinear friction,disturbance and input saturation. It is difficult to choose the suitable value of the parameters. The newly designed adaptive method is used to reduce the effects of system time-varying parameters, such as the moment of inertia and the damp coefficient. The robustness of object is improved. A DO is selected to approximate the compound disturbance and to render the estimate error convergent in finite time. The stability and the convergence of the closed-loop system are proved by using the Lyapunov theory. Experimental results show that the proposed ASMC-DO can better satisfy the influence of variable parameters and external disturbance to the control precision of the SISO servo system than other two controllers. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is showed. The control input stability and robust performances of the input saturation system are enhanced and the chattering is reduced. 展开更多

First, the exact linearization technique is used to transform an uncertain nonlinear system into a linear one and an optimal LQR is designed for the corresponding nominal system. Then, based on the integral sliding mode, a design approach to robustifying the optimal regulator is studied. As a result, the system exhibits global robustness to uncertainties and the ideal sliding mode dynamics is the same as that of the optimal LQR for the nominal system. A global robust optimal sliding mode control (GROSMC) is realized. Finally, a numerical simulation is demonstrated to show the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed algorithm compared with the conventional optimal LQR. 展开更多
