Thus, reduction of the stress of the cut-off wall has become one of the main problems for consideration in engineering design. In this paper, numerical analysis of a core rockfill dam built on a thick overburden layer was conducted and some factors influencing the stress-strain behaviors of the cut-off wall were investigated. The factors include the improvement of the overburden layer, the modeling approach for interfacial contact between the cut-off wall and surrounding soils, the modulus of the cut-off wall concrete, and the connected pattern between the cut-off wall and the clay core. The result shows that improving the overburden layer, selecting plastic concrete with a low modulus and high strength, and optimizing the connection between the cut-off wall and the clay core of the dam are effective measures of reducing the deformations and compressive stresses of the cut-off wall. In addition, both the Goodman element and the mud-layer element are suitable for simulating the interfacial contact between the cut-off wall and surrounding soils.展开更多

The surface of solid steel plate was defatted, descaled, immersed (in K_2ZrF_6 fluxaqueous solution) and stoved. In order to determine the thickness of Fe-Al compound layer at theinterface of steel-aluminum solid to liquid bonding under rapid solidification, the interface ofbonding plate was investigated by SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) experiment. The relationshipbetween bonding parameters (such as preheat temperature of steel plate, temperature of aluminumliquid and bonding time) and thickness of Fe-Al compound layer at the interface was established byartificial neural networks (ANN) perfectly. The maximum of relative error between the output and thedesired output of the ANN is only 5.4%. From the bonding parameters for the largest interfacialshear strength of bonding plate (226℃ for preheat temperature of steel plate, 723℃ for temperatureof aluminum liquid and 15.8 s for bonding time), the reasonable thickness of Fe-Al compound layer10.8 μm was got.展开更多

First, we present a dynamic access strategy to increase access efficiency, which provides an access region for the intended user. Then, we propose an emission control policy to transmit signals according to the current channel condition, which declines the influence of channel estimation errors and guarantees qualities of communication links. Furthermore, we give a comprehensive performance analysis for the proposed scheme in terms of connection outage probability(COP) and secrecy outage probability(SOP), and present a dual-threshold optimization model to further support the performance. Numerical results verify that the secure On-Off transmission scheme can increase the system secure energy efficiency and guarantee reliable and secure communication.展开更多

Based upon the results of the study on the applicability of the design formula, push-off test is conducted on specimens with various indented interfaces to evaluate the actual behavior with respect to the surface roughness. The experimental results reveal that the interfacial shear strength increases with higher compressive strength of the concrete layers presenting different strengths and that the shear strength at the indented interface differs by 20% to 50% compared to the value predicted by the design formula. Especially, the shear strength developed between the concrete layers with different strengths appears to be different from the prediction of the design formula as much as the layers present larger difference in their compressive strengths.展开更多
