In this approach, real-time location data are collected by A-GPS mobile phones to track vehicles traveling on urban roads. In addition, tracking data obtained from individual mobile probes are aggregated to provide estimations of average road link speeds along rolling time periods. Moreover, the estimated average speeds are classified to different traffic condition levels, which are prepared for displaying a real-time traffic map on mobile phones. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, which are fundamental for the subsequent development of a system demonstrator.展开更多

The method is that implement Gram Schmidt orthogonalizing process to column vectors of a design matrix A (α l ), then calculate the norms of every vector before and after orthogonalization process and their corresponding ratio, and use the minimum ratio among the group of ratios to measure the multi collinearity of A. According to the corresponding relationship between the multi collinearity and the ill conditioned state of a matrix, the method also studies and offers reference indexes weighing the ill conditioned state of a matrix based on the relative norm. The remarkable characteristics of the method are that the measure of multi collinearity has idiographic geometry meaning and clear lower and upper limit, the size of the measure reflects the multi collinearity of column vectors objectively. In many engineering networks, only a part of target state variables are required to be estimated.On the other hand,multi-layer complex network exists widely in practical situations.In this paper, the state estimation ...In many engineering networks, only a part of target state variables are required to be estimated.On the other hand,multi-layer complex network exists widely in practical situations.In this paper, the state estimation of target state variables in multi-layer complex dynamical networks with nonlinear node dynamics is studied.A suitable functional state observer is constructed with the limited measurement.The parameters of the designed functional observer are obtained from the algebraic method and the stability of the functional observer is proven by the Lyapunov theorem.Some necessary conditions that need to be satisfied for the design of the functional state observer are obtained.Different from previous studies, in the multi-layer complex dynamical network with nonlinear node dynamics, the proposed method can estimate the state of target variables on some layers directly instead of estimating all the individual states.Thus, it can greatly reduce the placement of observers and computational cost.Numerical simulations with the three-layer complex dynamical network composed of three-dimensional nonlinear dynamical nodes are developed to verify the effectiveness of the method.展开更多

Cyber-physical systems(CPSs)have emerged as an essential area of research in the last decade,providing a new paradigm for the integration of computational and physical units in modern control systems.Remote state esti...Cyber-physical systems(CPSs)have emerged as an essential area of research in the last decade,providing a new paradigm for the integration of computational and physical units in modern control systems.Remote state estimation(RSE)is an indispensable functional module of CPSs.Recently,it has been demonstrated that malicious agents can manipulate data packets transmitted through unreliable channels of RSE,leading to severe estimation performance degradation.This paper aims to present an overview of recent advances in cyber-attacks and defensive countermeasures,with a specific focus on integrity attacks against RSE.Firstly,two representative frameworks for the synthesis of optimal deception attacks with various performance metrics and stealthiness constraints are discussed,which provide a deeper insight into the vulnerabilities of RSE.Secondly,a detailed review of typical attack detection and resilient estimation algorithms is included,illustrating the latest defensive measures safeguarding RSE from adversaries.Thirdly,some prevalent attacks impairing the confidentiality and data availability of RSE are examined from both attackers'and defenders'perspectives.Finally,several challenges and open problems are presented to inspire further exploration and future research in this field.展开更多
Accurate and efficient online parameter identification and state estimation are crucial for leveraging digital twin simulations to optimize the operation of near-carbon-free nuclear energy systems.In previous studies,...Accurate and efficient online parameter identification and state estimation are crucial for leveraging digital twin simulations to optimize the operation of near-carbon-free nuclear energy systems.In previous studies,we developed a reactor operation digital twin(RODT).However,non-differentiabilities and discontinuities arise when employing machine learning-based surrogate forward models,challenging traditional gradient-based inverse methods and their variants.This study investigated deterministic and metaheuristic algorithms and developed hybrid algorithms to address these issues.An efficient modular RODT software framework that incorporates these methods into its post-evaluation module is presented for comprehensive comparison.The methods were rigorously assessed based on convergence profiles,stability with respect to noise,and computational performance.The numerical results show that the hybrid KNNLHS algorithm excels in real-time online applications,balancing accuracy and efficiency with a prediction error rate of only 1%and processing times of less than 0.1 s.Contrastingly,algorithms such as FSA,DE,and ADE,although slightly slower(approximately 1 s),demonstrated higher accuracy with a 0.3%relative L_2 error,which advances RODT methodologies to harness machine learning and system modeling for improved reactor monitoring,systematic diagnosis of off-normal events,and lifetime management strategies.The developed modular software and novel optimization methods presented offer pathways to realize the full potential of RODT for transforming energy engineering practices.展开更多

However, fast charging exacerbates battery degradation and shortens battery lifespan....A fast-charging policy is widely employed to alleviate the inconvenience caused by the extended charging time of electric vehicles. However, fast charging exacerbates battery degradation and shortens battery lifespan. In addition, there is still a lack of tailored health estimations for fast-charging batteries;most existing methods are applicable at lower charging rates. This paper proposes a novel method for estimating the health of lithium-ion batteries, which is tailored for multi-stage constant current-constant voltage fast-charging policies. Initially, short charging segments are extracted by monitoring current switches,followed by deriving voltage sequences using interpolation techniques. Subsequently, a graph generation layer is used to transform the voltage sequence into graphical data. Furthermore, the integration of a graph convolution network with a long short-term memory network enables the extraction of information related to inter-node message transmission, capturing the key local and temporal features during the battery degradation process. Finally, this method is confirmed by utilizing aging data from 185 cells and 81 distinct fast-charging policies. The 4-minute charging duration achieves a balance between high accuracy in estimating battery state of health and low data requirements, with mean absolute errors and root mean square errors of 0.34% and 0.66%, respectively.展开更多

Two classes of measurements(i.e., local measurements and edge measurements) are obtained, respectively, from the individual area and the transmission lines. A decentralized state estimator, whose performance is resistant against measurement with anomalies, is designed based on the minimum error entropy with fiducial points(MEEF) criterion. Specifically, 1) An augmented model, which incorporates the local prediction and local measurement, is developed by resorting to the unscented transformation approach and the statistical linearization approach;2) Using the augmented model, an MEEF-based cost function is designed that reflects the local prediction errors of the state and the measurement;and 3) The local estimate is first obtained by minimizing the MEEF-based cost function through a fixed-point iteration and then updated by using the edge measuring information. Finally, simulation experiments with three scenarios are carried out on the IEEE 14-bus system to illustrate the validity of the proposed anomaly-resistant decentralized SE scheme.展开更多
On state estimation problems of switched neural networks,most existing results with an event-triggered scheme(ETS)not only ignore the estimator information,but also just employ a fixed triggering threshold,and the est...On state estimation problems of switched neural networks,most existing results with an event-triggered scheme(ETS)not only ignore the estimator information,but also just employ a fixed triggering threshold,and the estimation error cannot be guaranteed to converge to zero.In addition,the state estimator of non-switched neural networks with integral and exponentially convergent terms cannot be used to improve the estimation performance of switched neural networks due to the difficulties caused by the nonsmoothness of the considered Lyapunov function at the switching instants.In this paper,we aim at overcoming such difficulties and filling in the gaps,by proposing a novel adaptive ETS(AETS)to design an event-based H_(∞)switched proportional-integral(PI)state estimator.A triggering-dependent exponential convergence term and an integral term are introduced into the switched PI state estimator.The relationship among the average dwell time,the AETS and the PI state estimator are established by the triggering-dependent exponential convergence term such that estimation error asymptotically converges to zero with H_(∞)performance level.It is shown that the convergence rate of the resultant error system can be adaptively adjusted according to triggering signals.Finally,the validity of the proposed theoretical results is verified through two illustrative examples.展开更多

The performance of the proposed optimization technique for SE, in terms of minimum value of the objective function and standard deviations of minimum values obtained in 100 runs, is found better as compared to the GPSO based technique. The transition probabilities of the Markov chain are assumed to be piecewise time-varying, and the persistent dwell-time switching rule,as a more general switching rule, is adopted to describe this variation characteristic. Afterwards, based on the classical Lyapunov stability theory, a Lyapunov function is established, in which the information about the Markov jump feature of the system mode and the persistent dwell-time switching of the transition probabilities is considered simultaneously.Furthermore, via using the stochastic analysis method and some advanced matrix transformation techniques, some sufficient conditions are obtained such that the estimation error system is mean-square exponentially stable with an H_(∞) performance level, from which the specific form of the estimator can be obtained. However, it is always not easy to obtain the information with high accuracy and low expense. Recently, many estimation methods have been put forward to solve such problems, in which Kalman filter becomes one of the most popular techniques. Nevertheless, the use of complicated model always leads to poor real-time estimation while the role of road friction coefficient is often ignored. For the purpose of enhancing the real time performance of the algorithm and pursuing precise estimation of vehicle states, a model-based estimator is proposed to conduct combined estimation of vehicle states and road friction coefficients. The estimator is designed based on a three-DOF vehicle model coupled with the Highway Safety Research Institute(HSRI) tire model; the dual extended Kalman filter (DEKF) technique is employed, which can be regarded as two extended Kalman filters operating and communicating simultaneously. Effectiveness of the estimation is firstly examined by comparing the outputs of the estimator with the responses of the vehicle model in CarSim under three typical road adhesion conditions(high-friction, low-friction, and joint-friction). On this basis, driving simulator experiments are carried out to further investigate the practical application of the estimator. Numerical results from CarSim and driving simulator both demonstrate that the estimator designed is capable of estimating the vehicle states and road friction coefficient with reasonable accuracy. The DEKF-based estimator proposed provides the essential information for the vehicle active control system with low expense and decent precision, and offers the possibility of real car application in future.展开更多

Firstly, the aerodynamic acceleration acting on the target is analyzed to reveal the essence of the target’s motion.Then three coupled structures for modeling aerodynamic parameters are developed by different ideas: the spiral model with a harmonic oscillator, the bank model with trigonometric functions of the bank angle and the guide model with the changing rule of guidance variables. Meanwhile, the comparison discussion is concluded to show the novelty and advantage of these models.Finally, a performance assessment in different simulation cases is presented and detailed analysis is revealed. The results show that the proposed models perform excellent properties. Moreover, the guide model produces the best tracking performance and the bank model shows the second; however, the spiral model does not outperform the maneuvering reentry vehicle(MaRV) model markedly.展开更多

文摘Cyber-physical systems(CPSs)have emerged as an essential area of research in the last decade,providing a new paradigm for the integration of computational and physical units in modern control systems.Remote state estimation(RSE)is an indispensable functional module of CPSs.Recently,it has been demonstrated that malicious agents can manipulate data packets transmitted through unreliable channels of RSE,leading to severe estimation performance degradation.This paper aims to present an overview of recent advances in cyber-attacks and defensive countermeasures,with a specific focus on integrity attacks against RSE.Firstly,two representative frameworks for the synthesis of optimal deception attacks with various performance metrics and stealthiness constraints are discussed,which provide a deeper insight into the vulnerabilities of RSE.Secondly,a detailed review of typical attack detection and resilient estimation algorithms is included,illustrating the latest defensive measures safeguarding RSE from adversaries.Thirdly,some prevalent attacks impairing the confidentiality and data availability of RSE are examined from both attackers'and defenders'perspectives.Finally,several challenges and open problems are presented to inspire further exploration and future research in this field.

文摘Accurate and efficient online parameter identification and state estimation are crucial for leveraging digital twin simulations to optimize the operation of near-carbon-free nuclear energy systems.In previous studies,we developed a reactor operation digital twin(RODT).However,non-differentiabilities and discontinuities arise when employing machine learning-based surrogate forward models,challenging traditional gradient-based inverse methods and their variants.This study investigated deterministic and metaheuristic algorithms and developed hybrid algorithms to address these issues.An efficient modular RODT software framework that incorporates these methods into its post-evaluation module is presented for comprehensive comparison.The methods were rigorously assessed based on convergence profiles,stability with respect to noise,and computational performance.The numerical results show that the hybrid KNNLHS algorithm excels in real-time online applications,balancing accuracy and efficiency with a prediction error rate of only 1%and processing times of less than 0.1 s.Contrastingly,algorithms such as FSA,DE,and ADE,although slightly slower(approximately 1 s),demonstrated higher accuracy with a 0.3%relative L_2 error,which advances RODT methodologies to harness machine learning and system modeling for improved reactor monitoring,systematic diagnosis of off-normal events,and lifetime management strategies.The developed modular software and novel optimization methods presented offer pathways to realize the full potential of RODT for transforming energy engineering practices.

文摘This article investigates the issue of finite-time state estimation in coupled neural networks under random mixed cyberattacks,in which the Markov process is used to model the mixed cyberattacks.To optimize the utilization of channel resources,a decentralized event-triggered mechanism is adopted during the information transmission.By establishing the augmentation system and constructing the Lyapunov function,sufficient conditions are obtained for the system to be finite-time bounded and satisfy the H∞ performance index.Then,under these conditions,a suitable state estimator gain is obtained.Finally,the feasibility of the method is verified by a given illustrative example.

文摘With the development of unmanned driving technology,intelligent robots and drones,high-precision localization,navigation and state estimation technologies have also made great progress.Traditional global navigation satellite system/inertial navigation system(GNSS/INS)integrated navigation systems can provide high-precision navigation information continuously.However,when this system is applied to indoor or GNSS-denied environments,such as outdoor substations with strong electromagnetic interference and complex dense spaces,it is often unable to obtain high-precision GNSS positioning data.The positioning and orientation errors will diverge and accumulate rapidly,which cannot meet the high-precision localization requirements in large-scale and long-distance navigation scenarios.This paper proposes a method of high-precision state estimation with fusion of GNSS/INS/Vision using a nonlinear optimizer factor graph optimization as the basis for multi-source optimization.Through the collected experimental data and simulation results,this system shows good performance in the indoor environment and the environment with partial GNSS signal loss.

文摘A fast-charging policy is widely employed to alleviate the inconvenience caused by the extended charging time of electric vehicles. However, fast charging exacerbates battery degradation and shortens battery lifespan. In addition, there is still a lack of tailored health estimations for fast-charging batteries;most existing methods are applicable at lower charging rates. This paper proposes a novel method for estimating the health of lithium-ion batteries, which is tailored for multi-stage constant current-constant voltage fast-charging policies. Initially, short charging segments are extracted by monitoring current switches,followed by deriving voltage sequences using interpolation techniques. Subsequently, a graph generation layer is used to transform the voltage sequence into graphical data. Furthermore, the integration of a graph convolution network with a long short-term memory network enables the extraction of information related to inter-node message transmission, capturing the key local and temporal features during the battery degradation process. Finally, this method is confirmed by utilizing aging data from 185 cells and 81 distinct fast-charging policies. The 4-minute charging duration achieves a balance between high accuracy in estimating battery state of health and low data requirements, with mean absolute errors and root mean square errors of 0.34% and 0.66%, respectively.

文摘To investigate the real-time mean orbital elements(MOEs)estimation problem under the influence of state jumping caused by non-fatal spacecraft collision or protective orbit trans-fer,a modified augmented square-root unscented Kalman filter(MASUKF)is proposed.The MASUKF is composed of sigma points calculation,time update,modified state jumping detec-tion,and measurement update.Compared with the filters used in the existing literature on MOEs estimation,it has three main characteristics.Firstly,the state vector is augmented from six to nine by the added thrust acceleration terms,which makes the fil-ter additionally give the state-jumping-thrust-acceleration esti-mation.Secondly,the normalized innovation is used for state jumping detection to set detection threshold concisely and make the filter detect various state jumping with low latency.Thirdly,when sate jumping is detected,the covariance matrix inflation will be done,and then an extra time update process will be con-ducted at this time instance before measurement update.In this way,the relatively large estimation error at the detection moment can significantly decrease.Finally,typical simulations are per-formed to illustrated the effectiveness of the method.

文摘This paper investigates the anomaly-resistant decentralized state estimation(SE) problem for a class of wide-area power systems which are divided into several non-overlapping areas connected through transmission lines. Two classes of measurements(i.e., local measurements and edge measurements) are obtained, respectively, from the individual area and the transmission lines. A decentralized state estimator, whose performance is resistant against measurement with anomalies, is designed based on the minimum error entropy with fiducial points(MEEF) criterion. Specifically, 1) An augmented model, which incorporates the local prediction and local measurement, is developed by resorting to the unscented transformation approach and the statistical linearization approach;2) Using the augmented model, an MEEF-based cost function is designed that reflects the local prediction errors of the state and the measurement;and 3) The local estimate is first obtained by minimizing the MEEF-based cost function through a fixed-point iteration and then updated by using the edge measuring information. Finally, simulation experiments with three scenarios are carried out on the IEEE 14-bus system to illustrate the validity of the proposed anomaly-resistant decentralized SE scheme.

文摘On state estimation problems of switched neural networks,most existing results with an event-triggered scheme(ETS)not only ignore the estimator information,but also just employ a fixed triggering threshold,and the estimation error cannot be guaranteed to converge to zero.In addition,the state estimator of non-switched neural networks with integral and exponentially convergent terms cannot be used to improve the estimation performance of switched neural networks due to the difficulties caused by the nonsmoothness of the considered Lyapunov function at the switching instants.In this paper,we aim at overcoming such difficulties and filling in the gaps,by proposing a novel adaptive ETS(AETS)to design an event-based H_(∞)switched proportional-integral(PI)state estimator.A triggering-dependent exponential convergence term and an integral term are introduced into the switched PI state estimator.The relationship among the average dwell time,the AETS and the PI state estimator are established by the triggering-dependent exponential convergence term such that estimation error asymptotically converges to zero with H_(∞)performance level.It is shown that the convergence rate of the resultant error system can be adaptively adjusted according to triggering signals.Finally,the validity of the proposed theoretical results is verified through two illustrative examples.

文摘In this paper, some improved results on the state estimation problem for recurrent neural networks with both time-varying and distributed time-varying delays are presented. Through available output measurements, an improved delay-dependent criterion is established to estimate the neuron states such that the dynamics of the estimation error is globally exponentially stable, and the derivative of time-delay being less than 1 is removed, which generalize the existent methods. Finally, two illustrative examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.
文摘In this paper, swarm optimization hybridized with differential evolution (PSO-DE) technique is proposed to solve static state estimation (SE) problem as a minimization problem. The proposed hybrid method is tested on IEEE 5-bus, 14-bus, 30-bus, 57-bus and 118-bus standard test systems along with 11-bus and 13-bus ill-conditioned test systems under different simulated conditions and the results are compared with the same, obtained using standard weighted least square state estimation (WLS-SE) technique and general particle swarm optimization (GPSO) based technique. The performance of the proposed optimization technique for SE, in terms of minimum value of the objective function and standard deviations of minimum values obtained in 100 runs, is found better as compared to the GPSO based technique. The statistical error analysis also shows the superiority of the proposed PSO-DE based technique over the other two techniques.

文摘We investigate the problem of H_(∞) state estimation for discrete-time Markov jump neural networks. The transition probabilities of the Markov chain are assumed to be piecewise time-varying, and the persistent dwell-time switching rule,as a more general switching rule, is adopted to describe this variation characteristic. Afterwards, based on the classical Lyapunov stability theory, a Lyapunov function is established, in which the information about the Markov jump feature of the system mode and the persistent dwell-time switching of the transition probabilities is considered simultaneously.Furthermore, via using the stochastic analysis method and some advanced matrix transformation techniques, some sufficient conditions are obtained such that the estimation error system is mean-square exponentially stable with an H_(∞) performance level, from which the specific form of the estimator can be obtained. Finally, the rationality and effectiveness of the obtained results are verified by a numerical example.

文摘Vehicle state and tire-road adhesion are of great use and importance to vehicle active safety control systems. However, it is always not easy to obtain the information with high accuracy and low expense. Recently, many estimation methods have been put forward to solve such problems, in which Kalman filter becomes one of the most popular techniques. Nevertheless, the use of complicated model always leads to poor real-time estimation while the role of road friction coefficient is often ignored. For the purpose of enhancing the real time performance of the algorithm and pursuing precise estimation of vehicle states, a model-based estimator is proposed to conduct combined estimation of vehicle states and road friction coefficients. The estimator is designed based on a three-DOF vehicle model coupled with the Highway Safety Research Institute(HSRI) tire model; the dual extended Kalman filter (DEKF) technique is employed, which can be regarded as two extended Kalman filters operating and communicating simultaneously. Effectiveness of the estimation is firstly examined by comparing the outputs of the estimator with the responses of the vehicle model in CarSim under three typical road adhesion conditions(high-friction, low-friction, and joint-friction). On this basis, driving simulator experiments are carried out to further investigate the practical application of the estimator. Numerical results from CarSim and driving simulator both demonstrate that the estimator designed is capable of estimating the vehicle states and road friction coefficient with reasonable accuracy. The DEKF-based estimator proposed provides the essential information for the vehicle active control system with low expense and decent precision, and offers the possibility of real car application in future.

文摘An adaptive unscented Kalman filter (AUKF) and an augmented state method are employed to estimate the timevarying parameters and states of a kind of nonlinear high-speed objects. A strong tracking filter is employed to improve the tracking ability and robustness of unscented Kalman filter (UKF) when the process noise is inaccuracy, and wavelet transform is used to improve the estimate accuracy by the variance of measurement noise. An augmented square-root framework is utilized to improve the numerical stability and accuracy of UKF. Monte Carlo simulations and applications in the rapid trajectory estimation of hypersonic artillery shells confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.

文摘Aiming at handling complicated maneuvers or other unpredicted emergencies for hypersonic glide vehicle tracking,three coupled dynamic models of state estimation based on the priori information between guidance variables and aerodynamics are presented. Firstly, the aerodynamic acceleration acting on the target is analyzed to reveal the essence of the target’s motion.Then three coupled structures for modeling aerodynamic parameters are developed by different ideas: the spiral model with a harmonic oscillator, the bank model with trigonometric functions of the bank angle and the guide model with the changing rule of guidance variables. Meanwhile, the comparison discussion is concluded to show the novelty and advantage of these models.Finally, a performance assessment in different simulation cases is presented and detailed analysis is revealed. The results show that the proposed models perform excellent properties. Moreover, the guide model produces the best tracking performance and the bank model shows the second; however, the spiral model does not outperform the maneuvering reentry vehicle(MaRV) model markedly.
