Controlling stationary one-way steering in a three-level atomic ensemble

We propose a scheme for establishing the stationary one-way quantum steering in a three-level Λ-type atomic ensemble. In our system, the cavity modes are generated from two atomic dipole-allowed transitions, which are in turn driven by two external classical fields. The atomic ensemble can act as an engineered reservoir to put two cavity modes into a squeezed state by two Bogoliubov dissipation pathways. When the damping rates of the two cavity modes are different,the steady-state one-way quantum steering of the intracavity and output fields is presented by adjusting the normalized detuning. The physical mechanism is analyzed based on a dressed state representation and Bogoliubov mode transformation.The achieved optical one-way quantum steering scheme has potential applications in quantum secret information sharing protocols.

The Toxic Effects of Strong Chlorin Disinfectant on Mangroves and Emission Thresholds

In this study, based on the simulated discharge results of chemical disinfectants, hypocotyl germination concentration gradient pre-test and concentration gradient determination experiment were set up respectively. Laboratory cultivation was conducted to compare and analyze the root germination and germination indexes, three mangrove hypocotyls of Kandelia candel (Linn.) Druce, Ceriopstagal C.B. Rob. and Bruguiera sexangula var. Rhynchopetalas’ efficiency of cumulative root germination, cumulative germination and the cumulative expansion of the second pair of leaves, one-way analysis of variance was used to obtain the tolerance threshold of three mangrove hypocotyls to strong chlorin disinfectant. The study determined that the by-products of strong chlorin disinfectant, the toxic threshold concentrations of Kandelia candel (Linn.) Druce, Ceriopstagal C.B. Rob. and Bruguiera sexangula var. rhynchopetala are close to 0.55 mg/L, 0.55 mg/L and 0.25 mg/L, respectively. This concentration range is lower than the average concentration of 1.183 mg/L of active chlorine emitted from strong chlorine concentrate during pond clearing in high-level shrimp ponds, indicating that transient emissions of strong chlorine concentrate during pond clearing can have a toxic effect on mangrove plants. The strength of tolerance of the embryonic axes of the three mangrove species to effective chlorine contamination was, Ceriopstagal C.B. Rob. stronger than Bruguiera sexangula var. rhynchopetala, and Kandelia candel (Linn.) Druce is the weakest.

Application of direct computing of one-way coupling technique in seismic analysis of concrete gravity dam

A dam-reservoir system subjected to an earthquake is a nonlinear system, because the fluid equations are always nonlinear regardless of the linear or nonlinear model used for the dam body. Therefore, transient analysis is necessary. In this study, dam-reservoir interaction during earthquake excitation was modeled by utilizing coupled finite element equations based on the Eulerian approach. Direct computing of the one-way coupling technique was used to solve the coupled equations. This technique is based on a simple assumption that the fluid hydrodynamic pressure is applied to the dam body while the deformation of the dam has no influence on the water field. Seismic response analysis of the Sonla concrete gravity dam constructed in Sonla Province, Vietnam was carried out as a verification example. The results of the methodology introduced are in close agreement with results of the iterative method and the solution procedure is found to be less time-consuming than that of the iterative method. This method is very convenient and can be easily implemented in finite element programs with fluid-structure interaction modules.

Design and analysis of logarithmic spiral type sprag one-way clutch

A complete mathematical model for logarithmic spiral type sprag one-way clutch design and analysis is given.It assumes that the motion of all clutch components can be expressed by a model of epicyclic gearing.It takes advantage of Hunt-Crossley contact impact theory to calculate the contact forces between sprags and races,and it can be used for optimization of design and comparison with other types of sprag clutches.A good deal of analysis shows that the parameters of the steady windup angle,the steady contact force,the natural frequency and natural cycle of clutch have nothing to do with the initial velocity of outer race,while the parameters of the maximum transient windup angle,the maximum transient impact force and the steady engagement time increase linearly in the mode of engaging operation of clutch.It is also shown that the strut angle has great influence on the dynamic engagement performance of clutch.The parameters of the steady windup angle,the maximum transient windup angle,the steady engaging time,the steady contact force,the maximum transient impact force and the natural cycle of clutch decrease linearly nearly with the inner strut angle,while the natural frequency of the system increases linearly with the inner strut angle.

A parametric bootstrap approach for one-way classification model with skew-normal random effects

In this paper,several properties of one-way classification model with skew-normal random effects are obtained,such as moment generating function,density function and noncentral skew chi-square distribution,etc.Based on the EM algorithm,we discuss the maximum likelihood(ML)estimation of unknown parameters.For testing problem of fixed effect,a parametric bootstrap(PB)approach is developed.Finally,some simulation results on the Type I error rates and powers of the PB approach are obtained,which show that the PB approach provides satisfactory performances on the Type I error rates and powers,even for small samples.For illustration,our main results are applied to a real data problem.

One-way hash function based on hyper-chaotic cellular neural network

The design of an efficient one-way hash function with good performance is a hot spot in modern cryptography researches. In this paper, a hash function construction method based on cell neural network with hyper-chaos characteristics is proposed. First, the chaos sequence is gotten by iterating cellular neural network with Runge Kutta algorithm, and then the chaos sequence is iterated with the message. The hash code is obtained through the corre- sponding transform of the latter chaos sequence. Simulation and analysis demonstrate that the new method has the merit of convenience, high sensitivity to initial values, good hash performance, especially the strong stability.

On Unobservability of One-Way Speed of Light

In this paper we recall the different definitions of simultaneity, the coordinate time interval and the velocity. It is emphasized that the above second two definitions depend on the simultaneity. We review the test theories on special relativity. It is shown that anisotropy (if possible) of one-way speed of light has not any ef- fects in the physical experiments. Therefore anisotropy of one-way speed of light cannot be determined by the experiments, except if an absolute (standard) simultaneity would be found.

Autonomous optical navigation of Mars probe aided by one-way Doppler measurements in capture stage

The optical navigation errors of Mars probe in the capture stage depend closely on which targets are selected to be observed in the Mars system.As for this problem,an integrated navigation scheme is proposed wherein the optical observation is aided by one-way Doppler measurements.The errors are then analyzed respectively for the optical observation and one-way Doppler measurements.The real-time calculating scheme which exploits the extended Kalman filter(EKF)framework is designed for the integrated navigation.The simulation tests demonstrate that the errors of optical navigation,which select the Mars moon as the observation target,are relatively smaller than those in the Mars-orientation optical navigation case.On one hand,the integrated navigation errors do not depend on the selecting pattern of optical observation targets.On the other hand,the integrated navigation errors are significantly reduced as compared with those in the optical-alone autonomous navigation mode.

Analysis on Chinese Regional Differences in International Tourism Foreign Exchange Earnings with Method of One-way Variance Analysis

Based on data over 31 provinces and cities in China from2006 to 2013,this thesis first divides those 31 provinces and cities into four economic regions including northeastern region,central region,eastern region and western region.Based on data over 31 provinces and cities in China from 2006 to 2013,those 31 provinces and cities were devided into four economic regions in this thesis,including northeastern region,central region,eastern region and western region.Then,it takes international tourism foreign exchange earnings as the dependent variable,the four economic regions as the factor to measure the difference of international tourism foreign exchange earnings in different regions,and finds out the main reasons of it.Through the one-way variance analysis on international tourism foreign exchange earnings,we can know that international tourism foreign exchange earnings have differences in different regions apparently.Besides,significant differences can be found between northeastern and central regions as well as eastern and western regions,while it is not the same case between the central and western regions.

Experimental investigation of the cyclic degradation of the one-way shape memory effect of NiTi alloys

Based on stress-and strain-controlled cyclic tension-unloading-heat-cooling tests,cyclic degradation of the one-way shape memory effect(OWSME)of NiTi shape memory alloys(SMAs)was investigated.It was seen,in thermo-mechanical coupled cyclic tests,that residual strain after each cycle accumulated,but the martensite reorientation stress and dissipation energy-per-cycle decreased as the number of cycles increased.Meanwhile,the cyclic degradation of OWSME was aggravated by increasing the stress/strain amplitude.In addition,the stress-strain response of NiTi SMAs was further investigated by performing simultaneous thermo-mechanical coupled cyclic tests with various phase-angle differences between the mechanical and thermal cyclic loadings.It can be concluded that such cyclic response depends significantly on prescribed phase-angle differences.Obtained experimental results are helpful for both the development of constitutive models and engineering applications of NiTi SMAs.

Using Excel to Explore the Effects of Assumption Violations on One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) Statistical Procedures

To understand any statistical tool requires not only an understanding of the relevant computational procedures but also an awareness of the assumptions upon which the procedures are based, and the effects of violations of these assumptions. In our earlier articles (Laverty, Miket, & Kelly [1]) and (Laverty & Kelly, [2] [3]) we used Microsoft Excel to simulate both a Hidden Markov model and heteroskedastic models showing different realizations of these models and the performance of the techniques for identifying the underlying hidden states using simulated data. The advantage of using Excel is that the simulations are regenerated when the spreadsheet is recalculated allowing the user to observe the performance of the statistical technique under different realizations of the data. In this article we will show how to use Excel to generate data from a one-way ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) model and how the statistical methods behave both when the fundamental assumptions of the model hold and when these assumptions are violated. The purpose of this article is to provide tools for individuals to gain an intuitive understanding of these violations using this readily available program.

Effects of Neo-Tethyan evolution on the petroleum system of Persian Gulf Superbasin

Considering the Neo-Tethyan tectonic process and the resulting environmental changes,a geodynamic model of“one-way train loading”is proposed to analyze the formation and evolution mechanism of the Persian Gulf Superbasin with the most abundant hydrocarbons in the world.The Persian Gulf Superbasin has long been in a passive continental margin setting since the Late Paleozoic in the process of unidirectional subduction,forming a superior regional space of hydrocarbon accu-mulation.During the Jurassic-Cretaceous,the Persian Gulf Superbasin drifted slowly at low latitudes,and developed multiple superimposed source-reservoir-caprock assemblages as a combined result of several global geological events such as the Hadley Cell,the Equatorial Upwelling Current,and the Jurassic True Polar Wander.The collision during the evolution of the foreland basin since the Cenozoic led to weak destruction,which was conducive to the preservation of oil and gas.Accordingly,it is be-lieved that the slow drifting and long retention in favorable climate zone of the continent are the critical factors for hydrocarbon enrichment.Moreover,the prospects of hydrocarbon potential in other continents in the Neo-Tethyan were proposed.

欧石楠扦插技术体系建立及生根动态观察

研究旨在通过对比‘欧石楠’插穗在不同处理下的生根差异,揭示欧石楠插穗的生根规律,从而为进一步完善欧石楠繁殖体系提供理论依据,为其实践生产提供技术支持。在全光照自动喷雾控温大棚内对欧石楠插穗进行不同激素浓度、不同基质、不同插穗类型及不同扦插时期的处理,对插穗的生根率、平均根数、平均根长及生根质量进行LSD及one-way ANOVA分析。欧石楠插穗在1000 mg/L的IBA影响下生根率最高,达到82.43%,且与其他浓度相比差异显著(P<0.05);在椰糠与珍珠岩(椰糠:珍珠岩=3:1)混合基质中,其插穗的各项生根指标均优于其他基质中的插穗;半木质化插穗是最适宜扦插的类型,较其他类型而言,其生根率、平均根数、平均根长达到显著水平(P<0.05),生根质量达到极显著水平(P<0.01);9月份扦插,插穗的生根率可达94.2%。本试验明确了适宜欧石楠插穗生根的激素浓度、基质及插穗类型、扦插时期。
