Direct online measurement on product quality of industrial processes is difficult to be realized,which leads to a large number of unlabeled samples in modeling data.Therefore,it needs to employ semi-supervised learning(SSL)method to establish the soft sensor model of product quality.Considering the slow time-varying characteristic of industrial processes,the model parameters should be updated smoothly.According to this characteristic,this paper proposes an online adaptive semi-supervised learning algorithm based on random vector functional link network(RVFLN),denoted as OAS-RVFLN.By introducing a L2-fusion term that can be seen a weight deviation constraint,the proposed algorithm unifies the offline and online learning,and achieves smoothness of model parameter update.Empirical evaluations both on benchmark testing functions and datasets reveal that the proposed OAS-RVFLN can outperform the conventional methods in learning speed and accuracy.Finally,the OAS-RVFLN is applied to the coal dense medium separation process in coal industry to estimate the ash content of coal product,which further verifies its effectiveness and potential of industrial application. 展开更多

An input-output signal selection based on Phillips-Heffron model of a parallel high voltage alternative current/high voltage direct current(HVAC/HVDC) power system is presented to study power system stability. It is well known that appropriate coupling of inputs-outputs signals in the multivariable HVDC-HVAC system can improve the performance of designed supplemetary controller. In this work, different analysis techniques are used to measure controllability and observability of electromechanical oscillation mode. Also inputs–outputs interactions are considered and suggestions are drawn to select the best signal pair through the system inputs-outputs. In addition, a supplementary online adaptive controller for nonlinear HVDC to damp low frequency oscillations in a weakly connected system is proposed. The results obtained using MATLAB software show that the best output-input for damping controller design is rotor speed deviation as out put and phase angle of rectifier as in put. Also response of system equipped with adaptive damping controller based on HVDC system has appropriate performance when it is faced with faults and disturbance. 展开更多

Health trend prediction has become an effective way to ensure the safe operation of highly reliable systems,and online prediction is always necessary in many real applications.To simultaneously obtain better or acceptable online prediction accuracy and shorter computing time,we propose a new adaptive online method based on least squares support vector regression(LS-SVR).This method adopts two approaches.One approach is that we delete certain support vectors by judging the linear correlation among the samples to increase the sparseness of the prediction model.This approach can control the loss of useful information in sample data,improve the generalization capability of the prediction model,and reduce the prediction time.The other approach is that we reduce the number of traditional LS-SVR parameters and establish a modified simple prediction model.This approach can reduce the calculation time in the process of adaptive online training.Simulation and a certain electric system application indicate preliminarily that the proposed method is an effective prediction approach for its good prediction accuracy and low computing time. 展开更多
