To reduce the error in transfer alignment caused by reference information delay,a time delay estimation method is developed based on least-squares curve fitting of the angular rate integration.First,the gyro sensor measurements of the main strapdown inertial navigation system(M-SINS) and the slave strapdown inertial navigation system(S-SINS) are recorded for a few seconds and the integration of the data is calculated.Then,the possible maximum range of the delay value is defined and the points of the curve at different intervals are moved.The square of the differences between the corresponding points are calculated.Finally,the delay estimation can be acquired by the least-squares curve fitting of the M-SINS and the S-SINS.A delay compensation method by local data shifting is also presented.The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of delay estimation and indicate that the estimation accuracy is independent of the delay value.And the local data shifting compensation method can effectively reduce the errors of the transfer alignment caused by the reference information delay. 展开更多

Aiming at the higher bit-rate occupation of motion vector encoding and more time load of full-searching strategies, a multi-resolution motion estimation and compensation algorithm based on adjacent prediction of frame difference was proposed.Differential motion detection was employed to image sequences and proper threshold was adopted to identify the connected region.Then the motion region was extracted to carry out motion estimation and motion compensation on it.The experiment results show that the encoding efficiency of motion vector is promoted, the complexity of motion estimation is reduced and the quality of the reconstruction image at the same bit-rate as Multi-Resolution Motion Estimation(MRME) is improved. 展开更多

The optical chaotic communication system with open-loop configuration is studied using fiber transmission under strong injection conditions. The performances of fiber links composed of two types of fiber segments in different dispersion compensation maps are compared by testing the quality of the recovered message with different bit rates and encrypted by chaotic modulation (CM) or chaotic shift keying (CSK). The result indicates that the performance of the pre-compensation map is always worst. Two types of symmetrical maps are identical whatever the encryption method and bit-rate of message are. For the transmitting and the recovering of message of lower bit rate (1 Gb/s), the post-compensation map is the best scheme. However, for the message of higher bit rate (2.5 Gb/s), the parameters in communication system need to be modified properly in order to adapt to the high-speed application. Meanwhile, two types of symmetrical maps are the best scheme. In addition, the CM method is superior to the CSK method for high-speed applications. It is in accordance with the result in a back-to-back configuration system. 展开更多

This paper presents an improved voice morphing algorithm based on Gaussian Mixture Model(GMM) which overcomes the traditional one in the terms of overly smoothed problems of the converted spectral and discontinuities between frames.Firstly, a maximum likelihood estimation for the model is introduced for the alleviation of the inversion of high dimension matrixes caused by traditional conversion function.Then, in order to resolve the two problems associated with the baseline, a codebook compensation technique and a time domain medial filter are applied.The results of listening evaluations show that the quality of the speech converted by the proposed method is significantly better than that by the traditional GMM method, and the Mean Opinion Score(MOS) of the converted speech is improved from 2.5 to 3.1 and ABX score from 38% to 75%. 展开更多

Many algorithms have been proposed. The rank one phase estimation (ROPE) algorithm is a good estimator for phase error widely used in SAR. The ROPE algorithm is used in ISAR phase compensation and the concrete implementation steps are presented. Subsequently, the performance of ROPE is analyzed. For ISAR data that fit the ROPE algorithm model, an excellent compensation effect can be obtained with high computation efficiency. Finally, ISAR real data are processed with ROPE and its imaging result is compared with that obtained by the modified Doppler centroid tracking (MDCT) method, which is a robust and good estimator in ISAR phase compensation. 展开更多

An improved estimation of motion vectors of feature points is proposed for tracking moving objects of dynamic image sequence. Feature points are firstly extracted by the improved minimum intensity change (MIC) algorithm. The matching points of these feature points are then determined by adaptive rood pattern searching. Based on the random sample consensus (RANSAC) method, the background motion is finally compensated by the parameters of an affine transform of the background motion. With reasonable morphological filtering, the moving objects are completely extracted from the background, and then tracked accurately. Experimental results show that the improved method is successful on the motion background compensation and offers great promise in tracking moving objects of the dynamic image sequence. 展开更多

According to the Doppler sensitive of the phase coded pulse compression signal, a Doppler estimating and compensating method based on phase is put forward to restrain the Doppler sidelobes, raise the signal-to-noise ratio and improve measuring resolution. The compensation method is used to decompose the echo to amplitude and phase, and then compose the new compensated echo by the amplitude and the nonlinear component of the phase. Furthermore the linear component of the phase can be used to estimate the Doppler frequency shift. The computer simulation and the real data processing show that the method has accurately estimated the Doppler frequency shift, successfully restrained the energy leakage on spectrum, greatly increased the echo signal-to-noise ratio and improved the detection performance of the radio system in both time domain and frequency domain. 展开更多

This work proposes a new strategy to improve the rotor position estimation of a permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) over wide speed range. Rotor position estimation of a PMSM is performed by using sliding mode observer(SMO). An adaptive observer gain was designed based on Lyapunov function and applied to solve the chattering problem caused by the discontinuous function of the SMO in the wide speed range. The cascade low-pass filter(LPF) with variable cut-off frequency was proposed to reduce the chattering problem and to attenuate the filtering capability of the SMO. In addition, the phase shift caused by the filter was counterbalanced by applying the variable phase delay compensation for the whole speed area. High accuracy estimation result of the rotor position was obtained in the experiment by applying the proposed estimation strategy. 展开更多

After inherent relationship between time delay and phase shift of signals is analyzed, an integer period error compensation method utilized the diversities of both contribution share and contribution mode of concerned estimates is proposed under the condition of high precision phase lag estimation. Finally, a cooperative multi-threshold estimation method composed of amendment and direct estimations to process impulse signals with three thresholds is established. In sea trials data tests of passive locating, this method improves the estimation precision of time delay difference efficiently. The experiments verify the theoretical predictions. 展开更多

Based on an adaptive backstepping control design, the estimates of the disturbance parameters are used to solve the disturbance rejection problem. The unknown disturbances are compensated completely with the stability of the whole closed-loop system. The scheme is not only able to accommodate uncertain actuator failures, but also robust against unknown external disturbances. The detection of motion blocks can accurately identify the motion blocks by using successive 4-field images. The motion estimation module with Kalman filtering searches motion vectors only for motion blocks, and the search model is adaptive to motion velocity and acceleration. Two de-interlacing methods are adopted to satisfy the different requirements of motion blocks and static blocks. AIM To evaluate the influence of creatinine methodology on the performance of chronic kidney disease(CKD)-Epidemiology Collaboration Group-calculated estimated glomerular filtration rate(CKD-EPI-eGFR) for CKD diagnosis/staging in a large cohort of diabetic patients. METHODS Fasting blood samples were taken from diabetic patients attending our clinic for their regular annual examination, including laboratory measurement of serum creatinine and eGFR.RESULTS Our results indicated an overall excellent agreement in CKD staging(kappa = 0.918) between the Jaffé serum creatinine-and enzymatic serum creatinine-based CKDEPI-eGFR, with 9% of discordant cases. As compared to the enzymatic creatinine, the majority of discordances(8%) were positive, i.e., associated with the more advanced CKD stage re-classification, whereas only 1% of cases were negatively discordant if Jaffé creatinine was used for eGFR calculation. A minor proportion of the discordant cases(3.5%) were re-classified into clinically relevant CKD stage indicating mildly to moderately decreased kidney function(< 60 m L/min per 1.73 m^2). Significant acute and chronic hyperglycaemia, assessedas plasma glucose and Hb A1 c levels far above the recommended glycaemic goals, was associated with positively discordant cases. Due to a very low frequency, positive discordance is not likely to present a great burden for the health-care providers, while intensified medical care may actually be beneficial for the small number of discordant patients. On the other hand, a very low proportion of negatively discordant cases(1%) at the 60 m L/min per 1.73 m^2 eGFR level indicate a negligible possibility to miss the CKD diagnosis, which could be the most prominent clinical problem affecting patient care, considering high risk of CKD for adverse patient outcomes. CONCLUSION This study indicate that compensated Jaffé creatinine procedure, in spite of the glucose-dependent bias, is not inferior to enzymatic creatinine in CKD diagnosis/staging and therefore may provide a reliable and cost-effective tool for the renal function assessment in diabetic patients. 展开更多

In certain circum- stances, the use of global motion estimation and compensation would perform equally well or even better than the block matching in terms of motion accuracy, while it results in the coding of global motion model parameters. In this letter, we modify an AVS coder by adding (1) six global motion model parameters to the frame header, and (2) mode selection among INTRA, SKIP, INTER-16×16, INTER-16×8, INTER-8×16, INTER-8×8, and Global Motion Compensation (GMC) modes by La- grange optimal rate-distortion criteria. Simulation results demonstrate that over 0.1dB improvement in PSNR is obtained compared to the AVS coder for an average coded P-frame with the same bit- rate. 展开更多

In this paper, a new mesh based algorithm is applied for motion estimation and compensation in the wavelet domain. The first major contribution of this work is the introduction of a new active mesh based method for motion estimation and compensation. The proposed algorithm is based on the mesh energy minimization with novel sets of energy functions. The proposed energy functions have appropriate features, which improve the accuracy of motion estimation and compensation algorithm. We employ the proposed motion estimation algorithm in two different manners for video compression. In the first approach, the proposed algorithm is employed for motion estimation of consecutive frames. In the second approach, the algorithm is applied for motion estimation and compensation in the wavelet sub-bands. The experimental results reveal that the incorporation of active mesh based motion-compensated temporal filtering into wavelet sub-bands significantly improves the distortion performance rate of the video compression. We also use a new wavelet coder for the coding of the 3D volume of coefficients based on the retained energy criteria. This coder gives the maximum retained energy in all sub-bands. The proposed algorithm was tested with some video sequences and the results showed that the use of the proposed active mesh method for motion compensation and its implementation in sub-bands yields significant improvement in PSNR performance. 展开更多

This paper presents a theoretical analysis of the systematic error of subpixel centroid estimation algorithm utilizing frequency domain analysis under the con-sideration of sampling frequency limitation and sampling window limitation. Explicit expression of systematic error of cen-troid estimation is obtained, and the dependence of systematic error on Gaussian width of star image, actual star centroid loca-tion and the number of sampling pixels is derived. A systematic error compensation algorithm for star centroid estimation is proposed based on the result of theoretical analysis. Simulation results show that after compensation, the residual systematic errors of 3-pixel-and 5-pixel-windows’ centroid estimation are less than 2×10-3 pixels and 2×10-4 pixels respectively. 展开更多

A new active vibration suppression method was thus proposed using the disturbance estimation and compensation algorithm. Firstly, the hydraulic-mechanical coupling model of the rolling mill vibration was established, and an active vibration suppressor was designed based on the extended state observer. Then, through the numerical simulation, it is found that the vibration energy is reduced by 35.3% using the vibration suppressor, and the vibration suppressor is valid when the vibration frequency is lower than 60 Hz Finally, the vibration suppressor was applied to the in-site manufacturing, and the expected vibration suppression was obtained. The method makes the produced steel strip have more uniform thickness and further significantly increases the finished product ratio. 展开更多

Contour following is one of the most important issues faced by many computer-numerical-control(CNC) machine tools to achieve high machining precision. This paper presents a new real-time error compensation method aiming at reducing the contouring error caused by facts such as servo lag and dynamics mismatch in parametric curved contour-following tasks. Due to the lack of high-precision contouring-error estimation method for free-form parametric curved toolpath, the error can hardly be compensated effectively. Therefore, an adaptive accurate contouring-error estimation algorithm is proposed first, where a tangential-error backstepping method based on Taylor's expansion is developed to rapidly find the closest point on the parametric curve to the actual motion position. On this foundation, the contouring error is compensated using a proposed nonlinear variable-gain compensation method, where the compensation gain is obtained according to not only the contouring-error magnitude but also its direction variation. The stability of the system after compensation is analyzed afterwards according to the Jury stability criterion.By design of the compensator in accordance with the presented contouring-error compensation method as well as the stability analyzation result, the balance between the response speed and the contour control stability can be effectively made. Experimental tests demonstrate the feasibility of the presented methods in both contouring-error estimation and contour-accuracy improvement.Contributions of this research are significant for enhancing the contour-following performance of the CNC machine tools. 展开更多
