Cognitive work analysis to comprehend operations and organizations in the mining industry

Complex industrial systems, including mining, have a prominent challenge in understanding the interrelationship among the cognitive processes, working environment and available equipment. The concept of cognitive work analysis(CWA) transcends the traditional analytic methods of evaluating human tasks solely based on perceptual and physical traits, and rather implements the notions of behavioral and cognitive awareness indispensable for the intricacy of modern technology. In the last few decades, academic and industrial settings employ this type of analysis to set a suitable standard for a system's safety feasibility, and as a result reduce human-based errors. This research paper analyzes current CWA methods and proposes a five-level quantification model portraying the overall cognitive quality of a mining operation.

THE EFFECT OF WOOD SURFACE ROUGHNESS OF DIFFERENT SPECIES OF TREES ON WOOD COLOR IN WORKING OPERATION

The multinomial wood surface roughness parameters and wood color parameters of 5 kinds of species of trees were measured in working operation by the stylus surface roughness meter and colorimeter, and the measurement results were compared. The results indicated: The variations of wood surface roughness had the effect on the wood color of some kinds of species of trees on working operation, with the surface roughness decreasing, the brightness and luminance exponent increased, the hue angle increased lightly, but the variation of color saturation was different to the different wood color hue of species of trees.

Research and Design of IPv6 Network Management and Operations Support System

IPv6 is the foundation of the development of Next Generation Internet (NGI). An IPv6 network management and operations support system is necessary for real operable NGI. Presently there are no approved standards yet and relevant equipment interfaces are not perfect. A Network Management System (NMS) at the network layer helps implement the integrated management of a network with equipment from multiple vendors, including the network resources and topology, end-to-end network performance, network failures and customer Service Level Agreement (SLA) management. Though the NMS will finally realize pure IPv6 network management, it must be accommodated to the management of relevant IPv4 equipment. Therefore, modularized and layered structure is adopted for the NMS in order to implement its smooth transition.

Real-time collaborative design based on operation semantics in distributed CAD environment

This paper proposes a collaborative design model based on operation semantics in a distributed computer-aided design (CAD) environment. The goal is to reduce time consumption in data format conversion and the requirement of network bandwidth so as to improve the cooperative ability and the synchronization efficiency. Firstly, real-time collaborative design is reviewed and three kinds of real-time collaborative design models are discussed. Secondly, the concept of operation semantics is defined and the framework of an operation semantics model is presented. The operation semantics carries the original design data and actual operation process to express design intent and operation activity in conventional CAD systems. Finally, according to the operation semantics model, a CAD operation primitive is defined which can be retrieved from and mapped to the local CAD system operation commands; a distributed CAD collaborative architecture based on the model is presented, and an example is given to verify the model.

Potential effects of the nursing work environment on the work-family conflict in operating room nurses

BACKGROUND The nursing working environment is an important subsystem in the hospital environment.A good working environment could have a positive impact on nurses.However,the work-family conflict and unsatisfactory working environment could significantly reduce their working enthusiasm,efficacy as well as the overall quality of the nursing,increase their fatigue,and thereby compromise their career status.AIM To explore the possible status quo and to analyze the correlation between work environment perception and the work-family conflict among nurses in the operating room.METHODS A total of 312 operating room nurses from two first-class hospitals at Grade 2 and two first-class hospitals at Grade 3 in China from May to September 2017 were included in this research using the cluster sampling method.The data,including the general information questionnaire,the practice environment scale of the nursing work index(PES-NWI),and the work-family conflict scale,were systematically collected.Pearson correlation analysis was applied to analyze the correlation between the two scores,with influencing factors analyzed by hierarchical regression analysis.RESULTS A total of 312 questionnaires were issued,and the response rate and effective questionnaire rate were both 96.15%(300/312).The total scores of the PES-NWI scale and the work-family conflict scale were 3.07±0.43(vs maximum up to 4 points)and 52.32±8.79(vs maximum up to 90 points),respectively.The scores of the PES-NWI scale were negatively correlated with that of work-family conflict scale(all P<0.05).The perception of the nursing work environment and the number of night shifts per month were the major factors contributing to the workfamily conflict(all P<0.05).CONCLUSION The nursing work environment and the work-family conflict among nurses in the operating room were both found at a medium level with a negative correlation between the two.

A Comparative Study of Performance Between Operators With Work Discontinuity and Without Work Discontinuity

In situations where discontinuity in operation occurs, specifically in a country where coontractualization has an increasing trend, the performance level of operators after the work break is of great interest. Existing studies have found that the performance of an operator declines after her operation is completely stopped. However, when the operator performed other tasks （may it be similar or not from her previous task） during the work break, the performance after the work break seems to be affected at different level. Contractual and regular operators from a semiconductor and textile company were considered to replicate a discontinuous and continuous operation. The processing times of contractual workers before and after several months of work break were compared. Two types of work break were seen to have significant effect on an operator＇s performance after the work break, Type 1： 0% to 40% similarity from previous task and Type 2： 40% to 97% similarity from previous task. One can find that when 21% of tasks performed during the work break are similar to the operator＇s previous task, there would be no change in her performance upon returning. On the other hand, a 5% decline in performance was observed after work break type 1 and an 8.54% improvement after work break type 2. Also, a remission rate of 18% from end of stint 1 to start of stint 2 under work break type 1 was seen, while 8% for work break type 2. This may also be true to other industries. Thus, further study is suggested.

Effects of Low Temperature on Operation Efficiencyof Tree-Felling by Chainsaw in North China

Comparison method and vidco-tape recorders were used in case study for recording thc operation performances of two group operators. The time span was 7 months, from September 10 March. The performance of operations in September was taken as references. The results of test survey and data analysis showed that the tree-felling operation efficiency was influenced by cold weather, properly decreased 18.5% in average.

Human Resource Management in Operational Level of Generation Y at Northern Region Industrial Estate Lamphun, Thailand

The generation Y is a growing group of young people among the general workforce, having different behaviors and motivators at work. To study effective motivating factors for this group of employees can even show some interesting factors of Y-generation employees＇ value, such as high value of manager flexibility and sharing similar values with the companies they work for. The primary aim of this study is to understand the relationship of Y-generation employee＇s work motivation between operational behaviors and work and organization interests. There are several companies with a number of young employees at Northern Region Industrial Estate Lamphun, Thailand. These companies obviously need to focus on the requirements of Y-generation employees. The study population consisted of Y-generation employees of Northern Region Industrial Estate, Lamphun in which 410 are selected by simple random sampling for the research. The questionnaires were analyzed using LISREL. Two types of data analysis have been performed which are descriptive and Structure Equation Model （SEM）. The research findings indicate that having behavior in the right direction should focus on motivation factors. Motivation to get work and organization interests should focus on hygiene factors. There is a correlation between the operational level of generation Y employees work motivation and their operational behaviors and work and organization interests. The relationship between them clearly is defined in fact finding for determining the human resource management policies.

The Effect of Net Working Capital on Jordanian Industrial and Energy Sectors＇ Net Cash Flows Employed in Operating Activities

The primary objective of the cash flow statement is to provide useful, meaningful, and relevant information about the cash receipts and cash payments of a firm during a given period of time. Decision makers can achieve extra features of the change in net assets, the firms＇ financial position （liquidity and solvency）, and the firm＇s ability to adapt to changing circumstances by affecting the amount and timing of cash flows. Cash flow statements improve comparability as they are not affected by differing accounting policies used for the same type of transactions or events. This study aims to verify the effect of net working capital （NWC）, as an indicator of a company＇s short-term liquidity or its ability to meet short-term obligations, on Jordanian industrial and energy sectors＇ net operating cash flows （NOCF）. A simple liner regression is used to test a period of 2008-2011 in order to conclude the extent of the effect on industrial and energy sectors. The study showed that there is a significant effect of the independent variable NWC on the dependent variable NOCF among industrial and energy sectors in Jordanian market. Whereas the adjusted R-squared of test is 0.854, changes in NOCF in Jordanian industrial and energy sectors have been described by NWC. Also, the study reached that the utilities and energy sector has the lowest NWC, while the mining and extraction sector has the highest. And, electrical industries sector has the lowest NOCF, while the mining and extraction sector has the highest. Moreover, the study showed that the printing and packaging sector has the lowest NWC, while the mining and extraction sector has the highest. And, glass and ceramic industries sector has the lowest NOCF, while the utilities and energy sector has the highest.

工作沉浸感在手术室护士工效学负荷与职业召唤间的中介作用

目的探讨工作沉浸感在手术室护士工效学负荷与职业召唤间的中介作用,为提高手术室护士职业召唤水平提供参考。方法采用便利抽样法选取218名手术室护士,采用一般资料调查表、护士工作沉浸感量表、手术室护士人体工效学评价问卷和职业召唤量表进行调查。结果218名手术室护士工效学负荷总分(50.47±9.84)分,职业召唤(38.78±5.59)分,工作沉浸感(129.37±11.19)分。手术室护士人体工效学负荷与职业召唤及工作沉浸感呈负相关(r_(1)=-0.645,r_(2)=-0.477,P<0.01),工作沉浸感与职业召唤呈正相关(r_(3)=0.517,P<0.01)。工作沉浸感在手术室护士工效学负荷与职业召唤间起部分中介作用,中介效应占总效应的20.2%。结论手术室护士职业召唤处于中等水平,护士工效学负荷既可以直接负向预测职业召唤,也可以通过降低护士的工作沉浸感间接影响职业召唤。提示医院管理者应关注手术室护士工效学负荷,采取相关措施降低其工效学负荷,提高护士工作沉浸感来提高职业召唤水平。

基于GMM的流体旋转设备运行可靠性在线评价方法

针对流体旋转设备运行工况多变且难以区分,导致运行可靠性评价准确率低的问题,提出了一种基于高斯混合模型(GMM)的流体旋转设备运行可靠性在线性评价方法。首先,根据设备历史运行数据,基于快速搜索和发现密度峰值的聚类算法(DPC),进行工况划分,构建不同工况条件下的基于GMM的运行可靠性基准模型;其次,使用XGBoost算法对设备实时运行状态进行工况识别,约减冗余指标,构建设备运行可靠性的评价指标体系;然后,计算度量评价指标与对应工况下基准模型指标的偏离程度,以马氏距离作为度量标准,进一步计算得到设备运行可靠性评价指数;最后,以矿用离心机设备为例,进行了多工况下的运行可靠性实例分析和模型验证。研究结果表明,该方法能够在线实时反应设备当前的运行可靠性水平,当离心机设备运行可靠性低于0.857时,认为设备进入劣化状态,且评价准确率达到98%以上。

基于混沌特性高空作业安全防范的模糊运算

高空作业所涉及的行业和工种非常广泛,具有从业人多、劳动强度高的特点。近年来其事故率一直居于各行业首位。通过分析高空作业中的混沌行为,基于KTY建立高空作业的风险指标体系。用模糊运算对影响高空作业的安全风险指标进行定量分析,然后综合评价打分,使评分合格的员工才能够进行正常的高空作业,降低了事故发生的概率,可以为该行业的安全生产管理提供参考。
