However, the cruise market prospect in East Asia is broad due to the deep cultural heritage, abundant tourism resources and large population base, resulting in the shift of the global cruise industry eastward to Asia. The position of Asia in the global cruise economy has become prominent increasingly. As a part of Shanghai, one of the most economically powerful coastal cities in China, Baoshan has national leading land, sea and air transportation networks, huge passenger flow and natural deep water terminals. Therefore, Shanghai steps in front in the development of cruise economy, shouldering the responsibility of a leader in the development of the national cruise industry. It will accelerate the growth of Shanghai's cruise industry to plan and construct the "cruise town" in Baoshan. In this paper, the author aims to further analyze the current construction orientation and development goal of the cruise town by studying the industrial base and analyzing the environment for the cruise town construction in Baoshan, explore the industrial distribution for the construction and development of the cruise town from the perspectives of tourism industry, leisure industry, finance and other service industries, and information industry, conduct in-depth analysis on the ideas about industrial distribution, and determine the system guarantee for industrial development so as to promote the healthy and orderly development of the cruise industry in China.展开更多

The contingency theory and the theory of routine dynamics underpinned the study, and positivism was the underlying philosophy. The study adopted the cross-sectional survey through the use of questionnaire. 820 middle and top-level managers constituted the elements of the population, and the Krejcie & Morgan’s formula was used to determine the sample size of 262 respondents. Structural Equation Modeling was deployed to test the hypotheses at a 0.05 significance level. The results showed that contingency planning;benchmarking and continuous improvement processes all have a significant positive relationship with organisational adaptability of Petroleum tank farms in South-South, Nigeria. The study concludes that Petroleum tank farms’ operations should focus on the adoption of contingency planning, benchmarking and continuous improvement processes to enhance organisational adaptability. Therefore, it is recommended that the management of Petroleum tank farms should put in place mechanisms to advance continuous improvement processes by allocating the necessary amount of resources, such as energy, time and money, in order to promote the continuous development of the continuous improvement systems. Furthermore, managers of Petroleum tank farms should make better the adoption of contingency planning, ensuring that there is as much necessary training and information for employees on how to act during a crises situation, in order to evaluate safety and prepare in advance for recovery from disasters.展开更多

Twenty-three cases undergoing heart valve replacement with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) were randomly allocated into two groups: L-carnitine group (n=12, 12 g/L L-carnitine was put in the ST. Thomas cardioplegia) and control group (n=11, identical to the L-carnitine group except that normal saline was administered instead of L-carnitine). Serum cardial troponin I (cTnI) levels, the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), and cardiac index (CI) were measured perioperatively. A bit of myocardial tissue obtained from right atria was taken before CPB and by the end of intracardiac procedure to undergo electron microscopy examination and estimate apoptosis by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end-labeling (TUNEL). From the end of CPB to 3 days after operation, the serum levels of cTnI in the L-carnitine group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P〈0.05). Heart color ultrasonogram showed that the CI index and LVEF at 7th day postoperatively in the L-carnitine group were significantly higher than in the control group (P〈0.05). Compared to the control group, L-carnitine significantly alleviated the morphologic changes of cardiac muscle cells (electron microscopy examination) and decreased the amounts of apoptotic cardiac muscle cells (TUNEL). Furthermore, the dosage of vasoactive drugs used after operation was significantly less in the L-carnitine group (P〈0.01). It was concluded that L-carnitine cardioplegia solution could improve cardiac function in patients undergoing heart valve replacement operation and alleviate CPB-mediated apoptosis of cardiac muscle cells.展开更多

To balance human needs with ecosystem needs, this study proposes an ecologically oriented operation strategy for a multi-reservoir system that integrates environmental flow requirements into the joint operation of a multi-reservoir system in order to main- tain different ecological functions throughout the river. This strategy is a combination of a regular opti-mal operation scheme and a series of real-time ecological operation schemes. During time periods when the incompatibilities between human water needs and ecosystem needs for environmental flows are rel- atively small, the regular optimal operation scheme is implemented in order to maximize multiple human water-use benefits under the constraints of a minimum water-release policy. During time periods when reservoir-induced hydrological alteration imposes significant negative impacts on the river's key ecological functions, real-time ecological operation schemes are implemented in order to modify the out- flow from reservoirs to meet the environmental flow requirements of these functions. The practical use of this strategy is demonstrated for the simulation operation of a large-scale multi-reservoir system which located in the middle and lower Han River Basin in China. The results indicate that the real-time ecological operation schemes ensure the environmental flow requirements of the river's key ecological functions, and that adverse impacts on human water-use benefits can be compensated for by the regular optimal operation scheme. The ecologically oriented operation strategy for a multi-reservoir system that is proposed in this study enriches the theoretical application of the multi-reservoir system joint operation which considers environmental flow requirements.展开更多

The DFT approach combines a modified fundamental measure theory (MFMT) for excluded-volume effect with the first order thermodynamics perturbation theory for chain connectivity. In the DFT approach, the intra-molecular bonding orientation function is introduced. We consider the effects of molecular length (i.e. aspect ratio of rod) and packing fraction on the orientations of hard rod fluids and flexible chains. For the flexible chains, the chain length has no significant effect while the packing fraction shows slight effect on the molecular orientation distribution. In contrast, for the hard rod fluids, the chain length determines the molecular orientation distribution, while the packing fraction has no significant effect on the molecular orientation distribution. By making a comparison between molecular orientations of the flexible chain and the hard rod fluid, we find that the molecular stiffness distinctly affects the molecular orientation. In addition, partitioning coefficient indicates that the longer rodlike molecule is more difficult to enter the confined phase, especially at low bulk packing fractions.展开更多

Memory about a core item (such as a word, object, or picture) is called item memory while memory about the context or related fea- tures of a core item is defined as source memory. What determines which sources within an episode are successfully remembered is of particular interest to researchers. Behavioral evidence suggests that the orientation of a memory task influences whether the related source of the item will be re- membered later. This study explored changes in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex while par- ticipants completed two tasks: an item-oriented task and a source-oriented task. We used functional MRI to investigate the neural mechanisms by which task orientation influences source encoding. We found that subsequent source memory effects in the right prefrontal cortex and hippocampus were modulated by task orientation, whereas task orientation modulated item memory effects in the prefrontal cortex. These findings highlight the possibility that the hippocampus contributes to the intentional encoding of item-source associations, whereas the prefrontal cortex is biased toward processing information to which attention is directed.展开更多
