Tuning Li nucleation and growth via oxygen vacancy-enriched 3D flexible self-supporting protection layer of P-Mn_(3)O_(4-x)for advanced lithium-sulfur batteries

Lithium sulfur batteries have attracted much attention due to their high theoretical specific energy and environmental friendliness.However,the practical application is severely plagued by the cycling life issues resulting from the uncontrollable generation and growth of Li dendrites.Herein,an innovative 3D flexible self-supporting Li anode protection layer of P-Mn_(3)O_(4-x)is constructed via a facile solvothermal method followed by an annealing process.Benefiting from the rich oxygen vacancies coupled with the 3D flexible self-supporting skeleton,abundant lithiophilic sites and high ionic conductivity are obtained,which succeed in guiding Li+homogeneous adsorption and redistribution,accelerating Li+diffusion rate,inducing Li+uniform deposition and nucleation.DFT calculations and experimental results conclusively demonstrate such a protection mechanism.Meanwhile,the effective anchoring and catalytic nature of polar P-Mn_(3)O_(4-x)can also be applied as an immobilization-diffusion-conversion host to improve polysulfides redox.Taking advantage of these merits,super-stable functions for Li symmetric cell matched with P-Mn_(3)O_(4-x)layer are achieved,which exhibits an ultralong lifespan of>5000 h with an ultralow overpotential of 20 m V,far lower than that of bare Li symmetric cell(overpotential of 800 m V only after 250 h)at high current densities of 5 m A cm^(-2)and high plating/stripping capacity of 10 m A h cm^(-2).Even in Li|P-Mn_(3)O_(4-x)||S full cell at 1 C,a high initial discharge specific capacity of 843.1 m A h g^(-1)is still delivered with ultralow capacity fading rate of 0.07%per cycle after 250 cycles,further confirming the synergistic regulation of P-Mn_(3)O_(4-x)for Li nucleation behavior.This work illustrates a sufficient guarantee of 3D protection layer coupled with oxygen vacancies in guiding Li diffusion and nucleation behavior and provides new guidance for promoting the development of advanced Li-S batteries. 展开更多

According to the problem during mining coal seam with high gas and its control, the theory numerical calculation of gas and strata movement law caused by protection layer mining was studied, with the background of Snake Mountain coal mine. First of all, the basic principle of fluid(gas)-solid coupling was briefly described, and a three dimensional model was established by FLAC software. Secondly, the calculation parameters of fluid-solid coupling were obtained based on the measured data, and the numerical calculation of sublevel mining was carried out in turn. Lastly, initial stress state, gas movement law, deformation law of pore pressure and movement characteristics of rock strata were studied, respectively. The results show that the gas and pressure were greatly reduced with the advance of 4 coal seam working surface, as well as the constant increase of area of goaf. Facilitating gas and the stress were gradually penetrated and released to goaf during the whole process of mining. The gas pressure, the aggregation degree and the surrounding rock pressure of the 1 coal seam and the 3 coal seam were greatly reduced. 展开更多

Zinc aluminium(Zn-Al)and lithium aluminium(Li-Al)–layered double hydroxides(LDH)coatings with incorporated inhibitors(Li-,Mo-and W-based)were successfully synthesized on AZ31 Mg alloy.Zn-Al LDH W and Li-Al LDH Li showed the highest corrosion resistance and were selected for further evaluation.SEM cross-section examination revealed a bi-layer structure composed of an outer part with loose flakes and a denser inner layer.XRD,FTIR,and XPS analysis confirmed the incorporation of the inhibitors.Post-treatments with corrosion inhibitors containing solutions resulted in the selective dissolution of the most external layer of the LDH coating,reducing the surface roughness,hydrophilicity and paint adhesion of the layers.Active corrosion properties were confirmed by SVET evaluation for the Zn-Al LDH W coating.The proposed active corrosion mechanism involves the ion-exchange of aggressive Cl-ions,deposition of hydroxides and competitive adsorption of W-rich corrosion inhibitors. 展开更多

The developing processes of stress and deformation fields of a protected layer after mining an upper-protective layer with a bow pseudo-incline technique were simulated to locate the protection region. The pressure relief of the protected layer was analyzed after mining the upper-protective layer. The pressure relief angle along the strike and incline were located according to the rules of protection of the deformation and stress pressure-relief of the protective layer after mining. This results show that the upper-protective layer with the bow pseudo-incline technique have an upper and downside pressure relief angle of 85 and 68 degrees respectively; the distribution of strike pressure relief angles along the pseudo-incline working face is uneven and their values range from 38.3 to 51 degrees. The pressure relief angle of the inclined middle location was the largest. The distribution of the protection region of the upper-protective layer with the bow pseudo-incline technique located by practical tests and numerical simulation is essentially consistent, compared with the results obtained by these methods. 展开更多

The relationship between absorption spectrum and rare earth contents was also discussed. The spectra of BASP glasses were measured by spectrophotometer. The results show that the forming regions will shrink with the increase of Al2O3 and it is difficult to form glass when [PO4]/[AlO4]<2. The forming regions tend to be a closed elliptical, and the intensity of characteristic absorption peak increases gradually with the increase of Sm2O3, the absorption lines broadens non-uniformly and there is approximate linear relation between optical density at the 1064 nm wavelength and Sm2O3 content. 展开更多

This work produced a Mg Al-layered double hydroxide by hydrothermal treatment of a plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO) coating on magnesium alloy AZ31 in an phosphate electrolyte, followed by an ion-exchange reaction in 0.1 M phosphate solution. The coated specimens were scratched. Characterization, including utilization of the localized technique SIET, measured the pH and p Mg distributions and optical morphologies around the artificial defects during immersion in 0.05 M NaCl solution. In contrast with phosphate loaded PEO/LDHs, a stronger alkalinization area(with pH 11.4~12.3) appeared in the passive PEO specimens. Due to formation of insoluble Mg(OH)_(2) products, the p Mg map showed depletion of Mg^(2+) in this high p H area. Combined with optical morphologies and SEM images, the better self-healing ability toward defects for phosphate loaded PEO/LDHs was confirmed. 展开更多

Over the years,zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs)have attracted attention as a promising next-generation energy storage technology because of their excellent safety,long cycling performance,eco-friendliness,and high-power density.However,issues,such as the corrosion and dissolution of the Zn anode,limited wet-tability,and lack of sufficient nucleation sites for Zn plating,have limited their practical application.The introduction of a protective layer comprising of tellurium(Te)nanobelts onto the surface of Zn anode has emerged as a promising approach to overcome these limitations and improve the electrochemical behav-ior by enhancing the safety and wettability of ZIBs,as well as providing numerous nucleation sites for Zn plating.In the presence of a Te-based protective layer,the energy power density of the surface-engineered Zn anode improved significantly(ranging from 310 to 144 W h kg^(-1),over a power density range of 270 to 1,800 W kg^(-1)),and the lifespan capability was extended.These results demonstrate that the proposed strategy of employing Te nanobelts as a protective layer holds great promise for enhancing the energy storage performance of zIBs,making them even more attractive as a viable energy storage solution forthefuture. 展开更多

AIM:To quantify changes in radial peripapillary capillary vessel density(ppVD)and the peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer(pRNFL)in children with type 1 diabetes without clinical diabetic retinopathy by optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA),providing a basis for early retinopathy in children with type 1 diabetes.METHODS:This was a retrospective study.A total of 30 patients(3–14y)with type 1 diabetes without clinical diabetic retinopathy(NDR group)were included.A total of 30 age-matched healthy subjects were included as the normal control group(CON group).The HbA1c level in the last 3mo was measured once in the NDR group.The pRNFL thickness and ppVD were automatically measured,and the mean pRNFL and ppVD were calculated in the nasal,inferior,temporal,and superior quadrants.The changes in ppVD and pRNFL in the two groups were analyzed.RESULTS:Compared with CON group,the nasal and superior ppVDs decreased in the NDR group(all P<0.01).The thickness of the nasal pRNFL decreased significantly(P<0.01),while the inferior,temporal and superior pRNFLs slightly decreased but not significant in the NDR group(all P>0.05).Person and Spearman correlation analysis of ppVD and pRNFL thickness in each quadrant of the NDR group showed a positive correlation between nasal and superior(all P<0.01),while inferior and temporal had no significant correlation(all P>0.05).There was no significant correlation between the HbA1c level and ppVD and pRNFL in any quadrant(all P>0.05).There was no significant correlation between the course of diabetes mellitus and ppVD and pRNFL in any quadrant(all P>0.05).CONCLUSION:ppVD and pRNFL decrease in eyes of children with type 1 diabetes before clinically detectable retinopathy and OCTA is helpful for early monitoring. 展开更多

Cake layer formation is inevitable over time for ultrafiltration(UF)membrane-based drinking water treatment.Although the cake layer is always considered to cause membrane fouling,it can also act as a"dynamic protection layer",as it further adsorbs pollutants and dramatically reduces their chance of getting to the membrane surface.Here,the UF membrane fouling performance was investigated with pre-deposited loose flocs in the presence of humic acid(HA).The results showed that the floc dynamic protection layer played an important role in removing HA.The higher the solution pH,the more negative the floc charge,resulting in lower HA removal efficiency due to the electrostatic repulsion and large pore size of the floc layer.With decreasing solution pH,a positively charged floc dynamic protection layer was formed,and more HA molecules were adsorbed.The potential reasons were ascribed to the smaller floc size,greater positive charge,and higher roughness of the floc layer.However,similar membrane fouling performance was also observed for the negative and positive floc dynamic protection layers due to their strong looseness characteristics.In addition,the molecular weight(MW)distribution of HA also played an important role in UF membrane fouling behavior.For the small MW HA molecules,the chance of forming a loose cake layer was high with a negatively charged floc dynamic protection layer,while for the large MW HA molecules it was high with a positively charged floc dynamic protection layer.As a result,slight UF membrane fouling was induced. 展开更多

Deep neural networks have achieved great success in varieties of artificial intelligent fields. Since training a good deep model is often challenging and costly, such deep models are of great value and even the key commercial intellectual properties. Recently, deep model intellectual property protection has drawn great attention from both academia and industry, and numerous works have been proposed. However, most of them focus on the classification task. In this paper, we present the first attempt at protecting deep semantic segmentation models from potential infringements. In details, we design a new hybrid intellectual property protection framework by combining the trigger-set based and passport based watermarking simultaneously. Within it, the trigger-set based watermarking mechanism aims to force the network output copyright watermarks for a pre-defined trigger image set, which enables black-box remote ownership verification. And the passport based watermarking mechanism is to eliminate the ambiguity attack risk of trigger-set based watermarking by adding an extra passport layer into the target model. ZrCoCe getter films with thickness of ~2.3 lm were deposited on Si(100) wafers by direct current(DC)magnetron sputtering process. A 400-nm-thick Pd protection layer was then deposited on the as-deposited ZrCoCe film w... ZrCoCe getter films with thickness of ~2.3 lm were deposited on Si(100) wafers by direct current(DC)magnetron sputtering process. A 400-nm-thick Pd protection layer was then deposited on the as-deposited ZrCoCe film without exposure to atmosphere. Microstructure, surface morphology and surface chemical state of the films were analyzed. Moreover, hydrogen sorption properties were determined. The results show that the ZrCoCe film displays a cauliflower-like morphology and a porous columnar-like structure which is composed of nanocrystal grains. The Pd protection layer tightly adheres to the surface of the ZrCoCe film and efficiently prevents the oxidation of Zr under exposure to atmosphere. We find that the hydrogen sorption properties of the Pd-ZrCoCe film are significantly improved,in comparison with those of the as-deposited ZrCoCe film. 展开更多
