To reduce thrust ripple and cost and improve the average thrust of permanent magnet linear motors,a modular dual-field modulation permanent magnet linear motor was studied,and the parameters were optimized.First,sensi...To reduce thrust ripple and cost and improve the average thrust of permanent magnet linear motors,a modular dual-field modulation permanent magnet linear motor was studied,and the parameters were optimized.First,sensitive parameters were selected using the Taguchi method,and then the optimal variables were sampled using the optimal Latin hypercube experimental design method and an ensemble of surrogates model of optimization objectives,and its accuracy was verified.Next,a multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm was used to optimize the purpose of“maximum average thrust and minimum thrust ripple”,and the Pareto front of average thrust and thrust ripple was obtained.Finite element analysis showed that the optimized modular dual flux-modulation permanent magnet linear motor(MDFMPMLM)had a 29.5%reduction in thrust ripple and a 5%increase in average thrust compared to the original motor.This study provided an effective method for improving the performance of permanent magnet linear motors.展开更多
This paper presents a contribution related to the control of nonlinear variable-speed marine current turbine(MCT)without pitch operating below the rated marine current speed.Given that the operation of the MCT can be ...This paper presents a contribution related to the control of nonlinear variable-speed marine current turbine(MCT)without pitch operating below the rated marine current speed.Given that the operation of the MCT can be divided into several operating zones on the basis of the marine current speed,the system control objectives are different for each zone.To deal with this issue,we develop a new control approach based on a linear quadratic regulator with variable generator torque.Our proposed approach enables the optimization of the rotational speed of the turbine,which maximizes the power extracted by the MCT and minimizes the transient loads on the drivetrain.The novelty of our study is the use of a real profile of marine current speed from the northern coasts of Morocco.The simulation results obtained using MATLAB Simulink indicate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed control approach on the electrical and mechanical parameters with the variations of marine current speed.展开更多

Its combined string stability condition can be obtained through the method of the ring-road based string stability analysis. However, the partial string stability about traffic fluctuation propagated backward or forward was neglected, which will be analyzed in detail in this work by the method of transfer function and its H∞ norm from the viewpoint of control theory. Then, through comparing the conditions of combined and partial string stabilities, their relationships can make traffic flow be divided into three distinguishable regions, displaying various combined and partial string stability performance. Finally, the numerical experiments verify the theoretical results and find that the final displaying string stability or instability performance results from the accumulated and offset effects of traffic fluctuations propagated from different directions.展开更多

The stability of the uniform flow is strengthened effectively by the introduction of the backward-looking effect. The numerical simulations are carried out to verify the validity of the new model. The outcomes of the simulation are corresponding to the linearly analyticai results. Chromatography decisions in the manufacturing processes are optimized, including the number of chromatography columns and their sizes, the number of cycles per batch, and the operational ow velocities. Data-driven models of chromatography throughput are developed considering loaded mass, ow velocity, and column bed height as the inputs, using manufacturing-scale simulated datasets based on microscale experimental data. The piecewise linear regression modeling method is adapted due to its simplicity and better prediction accuracy in comparison with other methods. Two alternative mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) models are proposed to minimize the total cost of goods per gram of the antibody puri cation process, incorporating the data-driven models. These MINLP models are then reformulated as mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) models using linearization techniques and multiparametric disaggregation. Two industrially relevant cases with different chromatography column size alternatives are investigated to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed models.展开更多

We formulate an optimal control problem on a given network and introduce a time discretization thereof. We then study the well-posedness of the corresponding time-discrete optimal control problem. In order to further reduce the complexity, we consider an instantaneous control strategy. The main part of the paper is concerned with a non-overlapping domain decomposition of the semi-linear elliptic optimal control problem on the graph into local problems on a small part of the network, ultimately on a single edge.展开更多

The minimum deviation between the demanded oil volumes and the actual offloading volumes was chosen as the objective function, and a linear programming model was established on the basis of known time nodes' sequence. The ant colony optimization algo- rithm and simplex method were used to solve the model. The model was applied to a real pipeline and it performed well.展开更多

We describe a quantitative analysis of such a system. A dynamic optimization model of the supply chain is developed. It has achieved optimal system profit under conditions guaranteeing a certain level of customer satisfaction. Applying this model to coal production of the Xuzhou coal mines allows recommendations for a more systematic use of washing and processing,transportation and sale resources for commercial coal production to be made. The results show that this model,which is scientific and effective,has an important value for making reasonable decisions related to complex coal enterprises.展开更多

Thisproblem not only exhibits the combinatorial nature that is intrinsic to scheduling problems, but alsonon-convex nonlinear behavior, due to the blending of various materials with different quality properties.In this work, a global optimization algorithm is proposed to solve a previously published continuous-timemixed-integer nonlinear scheduling model for gasoline blending. The model includes blend recipe optimi-zation, the distribution problem, and several important operational features and constraints. The algorithmemploys piecewise McCormick relaxation (PMCR) and normalized multiparametric disaggregation tech-nique (NMDT) to compute estimates of the global optimum. These techniques partition the domain of oneof the variables in a bilinear term and generate convex relaxations for each partition. By increasing the num-ber of partitions and reducing the domain of the variables, the algorithm is able to refine the estimates ofthe global solution. The algorithm is compared to two commercial global solvers and two heuristic methodsby solving four examples from the literature. Results show that the proposed global optimization algorithmperforms on par with commercial solvers but is not as fast as heuristic approaches.展开更多

Asymptotic properties of the proposed sieve MLEs are discussed. Under some mild conditions, the estimators are shown to be strongly consistent. This work was motivated by the obse...In this study, Simplex Method, a Linear Programming technique was used to create a mathematical model that optimized the financial portfolio of Golden Guinea Breweries Plc, Nigeria. This work was motivated by the observed and anticipated miscalculations which Golden Guinea Breweries was bound to face if appropriate linear programming techniques were not applied in determining the profit level. This study therefore aims at using Simplex Method to create a Mathematical Model that will optimize the production of brewed drinks for Golden Guinea Breweries Plc. The first methodology involved the collection of sample data from the company, analyzed and the relevant coefficients were deployed for the coding of the model. Secondly, the indices collected from the first method were deployed in the software model called PHP simplex, an online software for solving Linear Programming Problem to access the profitability of the organization. The study showed that Linear Programming Model would give a high profit coefficient of N9,190,862,833 when compared with the result obtained from the manual computation which gave a profit coefficient of N7,172,093,375. Also, Bergedoff Lager, Eagle Stout and Bergedoff Malta were found not to contribute to overall profitability of the company and it was therefore recommended that their productions should be discontinued. It also recommends that various quantities of Golden Guinea Lager (1 × 12) and Golden Guinea Lager (1 × 24) should be produced.展开更多

文摘This paper presents a method to design a control scheme for nonlinear systems using fuzzy optimal control.In the design process,the nonlinear system is first converted into local subsystems using sector non linearity approach of Takagi Sugeno(T S)fuzzy modeling.For each local subsystem,an optimal control is designed.Then,the parameters of local controllers are defuzzified to construct a global optimal controller.To prove the effectiveness of this control scheme,simulations are performed using the mathematical model of Esso Osaka tanker ship for set point regulation with and without disturbance and reference tracking.In addition,the simulation results are compared with that of a PID controller for further verification and validation.It has been shown that the proposed optimal controller can be used for the nonlinear ship steering with good rise time,zero steady state error and fast settling time.

文摘Recursive algorithms are very useful for computing M-estimators of regression coefficients and scatter parameters. In this article, it is shown that for a nondecreasing ul (t), under some mild conditions the recursive M-estimators of regression coefficients and scatter parameters are strongly consistent and the recursive M-estimator of the regression coefficients is also asymptotically normal distributed. Furthermore, optimal recursive M-estimators, asymptotic efficiencies of recursive M-estimators and asymptotic relative efficiencies between recursive M-estimators of regression coefficients are studied.

文摘Linear friction welding (LFW) is a solid state process for joining metals together. While this process was developed originaUy for titanium alloys (e. g. blisks ) , over the past decade a number of materials were found to be weldable with LFW. In this review, the current status of understanding and development of LFW are presented. Particular emphasis has been given to the modeling of the LFW process. Finally, opportunities for further research and development of LFW are identified.

文摘A stochastic two dimensional Fornasini Marchesini’s Model Ⅱ (2 D FMM Ⅱ) with multiplicative noise is given, and a filtering algorithm for this model, which is optimal in the sense of linear minimum variance, is developed. The stochastic 2 D FMM Ⅱ with multiplicative noise can be reduced to a 1 D model, and the proposed optimal filtering algorithm for the stochastic 2 D FMM Ⅱ with multiplicative noise is obtained by using the state estimation theory of 1 D systems. An example is given to illustrate the validity of this algorithm.

文摘This article concerded with a semiparametric generalized partial linear model (GPLM) with the type Ⅱ censored data. A sieve maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) is proposed to estimate the parameter component, allowing exploration of the nonlinear relationship between a certain covariate and the response function. Asymptotic properties of the proposed sieve MLEs are discussed. Under some mild conditions, the estimators are shown to be strongly consistent. Moreover, the estimators of the unknown parameters are asymptotically normal and efficient, and the estimator of the nonparametric function has an optimal convergence rate.
文摘The refugee immigration problem can be considered as a special “transportation problem”. Linear Programming Model is built, where two objectives with weight in the objective function, for the shortest routes that the refugees go along and the minimum number of refugees stayed in each country. An example of EU is introduced and calculated on Lingo software. The results show that the model is available to solve the refugee immigration problem in different scale.
文摘In this study, Simplex Method, a Linear Programming technique was used to create a mathematical model that optimized the financial portfolio of Golden Guinea Breweries Plc, Nigeria. This work was motivated by the observed and anticipated miscalculations which Golden Guinea Breweries was bound to face if appropriate linear programming techniques were not applied in determining the profit level. This study therefore aims at using Simplex Method to create a Mathematical Model that will optimize the production of brewed drinks for Golden Guinea Breweries Plc. The first methodology involved the collection of sample data from the company, analyzed and the relevant coefficients were deployed for the coding of the model. Secondly, the indices collected from the first method were deployed in the software model called PHP simplex, an online software for solving Linear Programming Problem to access the profitability of the organization. The study showed that Linear Programming Model would give a high profit coefficient of N9,190,862,833 when compared with the result obtained from the manual computation which gave a profit coefficient of N7,172,093,375. Also, Bergedoff Lager, Eagle Stout and Bergedoff Malta were found not to contribute to overall profitability of the company and it was therefore recommended that their productions should be discontinued. It also recommends that various quantities of Golden Guinea Lager (1 × 12) and Golden Guinea Lager (1 × 24) should be produced.
