Many maintenance models have been developed for WTs’ maintenance planning, suchas corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance. Due to communities’ dependence on WTs for electricityneeds, preventive maintenance is the most widely used method for maintenance scheduling. The downside tousing this approach is that preventive maintenance (PM) is often done in fixed intervals, which is inefficient. In thispaper, a more detailed maintenance plan for a 2 MW WT has been developed. The paper’s focus is to minimize aWT’s maintenance cost based on a WT’s reliability model. This study uses a two-layer optimization framework:Fibonacci and genetic algorithm. The first layer in the optimization method (Fibonacci) finds the optimal numberof PM required for the system. In the second layer, the optimal times for preventative maintenance and optimalcomponents to maintain have been determined to minimize maintenance costs. The Monte Carlo simulationestimates WT component failure times using their lifetime distributions from the reliability model. The estimatedfailure times are then used to determine the overall corrective and PM costs during the system’s lifetime. Finally,an optimal PM schedule is proposed for a 2 MW WT using the presented method. The method used in this papercan be expanded to a wind farm or similar engineering systems.展开更多

Traditionally, TSO mainly focuses on fault detection and isolation, but they cannot provide an effective guide for the design for testability (DFT) to improve the PHM performance level. To solve the problem, a model of TSO for PHM systems is proposed. Firstly, through integrating the characteristics of fault severity and propa- gation time, and analyzing the test timing and sensitivity, a testability model based on failure evolution mechanism model (FEMM) for PHM systems is built up. This model describes the fault evolution- test dependency using the fault-symptom parameter matrix and symptom parameter-test matrix. Secondly, a novel method of in- herent testability analysis for PHM systems is developed based on the above information. Having completed the analysis, a TSO model, whose objective is to maximize fault trackability and mini- mize the test cost, is proposed through inherent testability analysis results, and an adaptive simulated annealing genetic algorithm (ASAGA) is introduced to solve the TSO problem. Finally, a case of a centrifugal pump system is used to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed models and methods. The results show that the proposed technology is important for PHM systems to select and optimize the test set in order to improve their performance level.展开更多

The example results demonstrate the advantages of the improved method over existing optimal methods, and show that the genetic algorithm is an effective way to update the models used for actual complex structures.展开更多

The results show that the proposed technology is important for PHM systems to select and optimize the test set in order to improve their performance level.

文摘The optimal matrix method and optimal elemental method used to update finite element models may not provide accurate results. This situation occurs when the test modal model is incomplete,as is often the case in practice. An improved optimal elemental method is presented that defines a new objective function, and as a byproduct, circumvents the need for mass normalized modal shapes, which are also not readily available in practice. To solve the group of nonlinear equations created by the improved optimal method, the Lagrange multiplier method and Matlab function fmincon are employed. To deal with actual complex structures, the float-encoding genetic algorithm(FGA)is introduced to enhance the capability of the improved method. Two examples,a 7- degree of freedom(DOF)mass-spring system and a 53-DOF planar frame, respectively, are updated using the improved method. The example results demonstrate the advantages of the improved method over existing optimal methods, and show that the genetic algorithm is an effective way to update the models used for actual complex structures.

文摘The selection pressure of genetic algorithm reveals the degree of balance between the global exploration and local optimization.A novel algorithm called the hybrid multi-population cellular genetic algorithm(HCGA)is proposed, which combines population segmentation with particle swarm optimization(PSO).The control parameters are the number of individuals in the population and the number of subpopulations.By varying these control parameters, changes in selection pressure can be investigated.Population division is found to reduce the selection pressure. In particular, low selection pressure emerges in small and highly divided populations.Besides, slight or mild selection pressure reduces the convergence speed, and thus a new mutation operator accelerates the system.HPCGA is tested in the optimization of four typical functions and the results are compared with those of the conventional cellular genetic algorithm.HPCGA is found to significantly improve global convergence rate, convergence speed and stability.Population diversity is also investigated by HPCGA.Appropriate numbers of subpopulations not only achieve a better tradeoff between global exploration and local exploitation, but also greatly improve the optimization performance of HPCGA.It is concluded that HPCGA can elucidate the scientific basis for selecting the efficient numbers of subpopulations.
