However, little infor- mation is available about the pharmacodynamic basis. The antitumor, immunomodulatory and free radical scavenging effects of SCP were evaluated in this study. Transplanted tumor in vivo method was used to determine the antitumor effect. The effects on spleno- cyte proliferation and phagocytosis of macrophages in tumor-bearing mice were measured by the MTT method and the phagocytizing cock red blood cell (CRBC) method respectively. The scavenging activities of SCP on DPPH and hydroxyl radicals in vitro were investigated. It was found that the medium-dose and high-dose of SCP could significantly inhibit the growth of transplanted hepatic tumor of murine hepatocarcinoma cell line H22, and promote proliferation of splenocytes and phagocytosis of macrophages. SCP possessed noticeable scavenging activities on DPPH and hydroxyl radicals. The antiturnor effects of SCP might be achieved by im- proving immune system and scavenging free radicals, which is in accordance with the viewpoint of traditional Chinese medicine in promoting the body resistance and eliminating pathogenic factors for cancer treatment.展开更多

The antiturnor effects of SCP might be achieved by im- proving immune system and scavenging free radicals, which is in accordance with the viewpoint of traditional Chinese medicine in promoting the body resistance and eliminating pathogenic factors for cancer treatment.

文摘Oral mucositis is a common adverse reaction of radiotherapy and chemotherapy in cancer patients, which reduces the quality of life of patients and affects the progress of cancer treatment. Most of the patients with malignant tumor belong to the syndrome of deficiency in root case and excess in manifestation. When undergoing radiotherapy or chemotherapy, the patients’ministerial fire becomes hyperactive, which may cause oral mucositis. With the method of“conducting fire back to its origin”,ministerial fire can be led to vital gate,as well as recovering its physiological functions. In the treatment of oral mucositis, instead of attacking ministerial fire with too much heat-clearing herbs,we should, under the guidance of the theory of“conducting fire back to its origin”,differentiate the syndrome, and then we can use the methods of treatment of clearing and lowering heart fire, warmly invigorating spleen and stomach, nourishing liver and kidney,or warmly invigorating vital gate,to conduct ministerial fire back to vital gate. This article aims to provide theoretical reference for Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment of radiotherapy or chemotherapy induced oral mucositis.

文摘Berberine(BBR),an isoquinoline alkaloid, has been found in many plants, such as Coptis chinensis Franch and Phellodendron chinense Schneid.Although BBR has a wide spectrum of pharmacological effects, its oral bioavailability is extremely low.In recent years, gut microbiota has emerged as a cynosure to understand the mechanisms of action of herbal compounds.Numerous studies have demonstrated that due to its low bioavailability,BBR can interact with the gut microbiota, thereby exhibiting altered pharmacological effects. However,no systematic and comprehensive review has summarized these interactions and their corresponding influences on pharmacological effects. Here,we describe the direct interactive relationships between BBR and gut microbiota, including regulation of gut microbiota composition and metabolism by BBR and metabolization of BBR by gut microbiota. In addition, the complex interactions between gut microbiota and BBR as well as the side effects and personalized use of BBR are discussed.Furthermore,we provide our viewpoint on future research directions regarding BBR and gut microbiota. This review not only helps to explain the mechanisms underlying BBR activity but also provides support for the rational use of BBR in clinical practice.

文摘A novel micelle to solvent stacking on-line sample preconcentration technique in capillary zone electrophoresis(MSS-CZE) has been developed to determine the strychnine and brucine in traditional Chinese medicine preparations. The optimal running buffer was 30 mmol/L H_3PO_4 containing 20%acetonitrile at pH 4.0.The sample matrix was 8 mmol/L H_3PO_4 containing 5 mmol/L sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) at pH 3.0.The established MSS-CZE method afforded more than 50-fold improvements in concentration sensitivity compared with typical CZE-UV analysis. The calibration curve was linear in the range from 0.2 to 15.0μg/ mL for both strychnine and brucine, with correlation coefficients of 0.9984 and 0.9976,respectively.The limits of detection(5/ N = 3:1) for strychnine and brucine were 0.02 and 0.05μg/mL,respectively.The MSS-CZE method has been successfully applied to the analysis of strychnine and brucine in Chinese medicinal preparations.
