The excitation of surface plasmons (SPs) with a strip grating at the boundary of an unmagnetized overdense plasma has been investigated theoretically and experimentally. An incident electromagnetic radiation was p-p...The excitation of surface plasmons (SPs) with a strip grating at the boundary of an unmagnetized overdense plasma has been investigated theoretically and experimentally. An incident electromagnetic radiation was p-polarized at the frequency of 5 GHz. Experiments showed that when the plasma density was four times higher than the critical density with the grating present, and the SPs could be excited at the boundary of the overdense plasma. Contribution of the glass layer in the formation of the SP dispersion relation was examined. When the incident electromagnetic radiation was coupled into SPs the coupling order with the effective permittivity was simulated qualitatively. We find that the existence of SPs at the boundary of overdense plasma indicates that the reflection coefficient of the incident electromagnetic radiation reaches its minimum and even becomes total absorption. In this work the plasma density was diagnosed by a Langmuir double probe.展开更多

It is found that magnetic frustration and long-range magnetic order coexist i...We study the structure, magnetization, electrical transport properties and heat capacity of the pyrochlore iridates A2Ir2O7(A=Y, Eu, Bi). It is found that magnetic frustration and long-range magnetic order coexist in Y2Ir2O7 and Eu2Ir2O7, while Bi2Ir2O7 shows magnetic frustration or short-range magnetic order without long-range magnetic order. The former two compounds show insulating behavior. However, the latter one shows metallic behavior. The variations of the radius of A-site ion affect the conduction bandwidth, correlation and Ir-Ir exchange energy, which in turn determine transport properties and magnetic properties. We also find that the antiferromagnetic ordering of pyrochlore iridates is weakly frustrated. The all-in/all-out type of anisotropy based on spin-orbit coupling plays a key role in releasing the frustration.展开更多
In this paper,the effects of nonlinear forces due to the electromagnetic field of bearing and the unbalancing force on nonlinear vibration behavior of a rotor is investigated.The rotor is modeled as a rigid body that ...In this paper,the effects of nonlinear forces due to the electromagnetic field of bearing and the unbalancing force on nonlinear vibration behavior of a rotor is investigated.The rotor is modeled as a rigid body that is supported by two magnetic bearings with eightpolar structures.The governing dynamics equations of the system that are coupled nonlinear second order ordinary differential equations(ODEs)are derived,and for solving these equations,the homotopy perturbation method(HPM)is used.By applying HPM,the possibility of presenting a harmonic semi-analytical solution,is provided.In fact,with equality the coefficient of auxiliary parameter(p),the system of coupled nonlinear second order and non-homogenous differential equations are obtained so that consists of unbalancing effects.By considering some initial condition for displacement and velocity in the horizontal and vertical directions,free vibration analysis is done and next,the forced vibration analysis under the effect of harmonic forces also is investigated.Likewise,various parameters on the vibration behavior of rotor are studied.Changes in amplitude and response phase per excitation frequency are investigated.Results show that by increasing excitation frequency,the motion amplitude is also increases and by passing the critical speed,it decreases.Also it shows that the magnetic bearing system performance is in stable maintenance of rotor.The parameters affecting on vibration behavior,has been studied and by comparison the results with the other references,which have a good precision up to 2nd order of embedding parameter,it implies the accuracy of this method in current research.展开更多
