The construction of shiology system is the premise for comprehensively solving the issues of human shiance.The core of the construction of the shiology system is to reveal the inclusion and juxtaposition of relationships within shiance based on a comprehensive understanding of human shiance issues.The shiology system discussed in this paper is a four-level discipline system with the basic structure of shiology triangle composed of eaters'demands,food acquisition and shiance order,and it is currently in the form of"1-3-13-36".From a longitudinal point of view,53 inclusion relationships are established among disciplines at all levels.Horizontally,53 juxtapositions are established between disciplines at the same level.The shiology system is bounded by human shiance issues,not involving non-shiance issues areas.Human cognition of shiance and shiance issues must go through three historical stages as fragmented cognition,block-based cognition and holistic cognition.The construction of the shiology system marks that humans have entered the stage of"holistic cognition"of shiance.As the Chinese proverb goes,"food is the paramount necessity of the people".Shiology system interprets its connotation and extension.To solve shiance issues holistically,it need to ensure food security,enable people to eat healthy,and foster an enduring and stable society.And shiology system is a global public product which comprehensively solves shiance issues. 展开更多

The dynamic analysis of financial systems is a developing field that combines mathematics and economics to understand and explain fluctuations in financial markets.This paper introduces a new three-dimensional(3D)fractional financial map and we dissect its nonlinear dynamics system under commensurate and incommensurate orders.As such,we evaluate when the equilibrium points are stable or unstable at various fractional orders.We use many numerical methods,phase plots in 2D and 3D projections,bifurcation diagrams and the maximum Lyapunov exponent.These techniques reveal that financial maps exhibit chaotic attractor behavior.This study is grounded on the Caputo-like discrete operator,which is specifically influenced by the variance of the commensurate and incommensurate orders.Furthermore,we confirm the presence and measure the complexity of chaos in financial maps by the 0-1 test and the approximate entropy algorithm.Additionally,we offer nonlinear-type controllers to stabilize the fractional financial map.The numerical results of this study are obtained using MATLAB. 展开更多

Pedestrian self-organizing movement plays a significant role in evacuation studies and architectural design.Lane formation,a typical self-organizing phenomenon,helps pedestrian system to become more orderly,the majority of following behavior model and overtaking behavior model are imprecise and unrealistic compared with pedestrian movement in the real world.In this study,a pedestrian dynamic model considering detailed modelling of the following behavior and overtaking behavior is constructed,and a method of measuring the lane formation and pedestrian system order based on information entropy is proposed.Simulation and analysis demonstrate that the following and avoidance behaviors are important factors of lane formation.A high tendency of following results in good lane formation.Both non-selective following behavior and aggressive overtaking behavior cause the system order to decrease.The most orderly following strategy for a pedestrian is to overtake the former pedestrian whose speed is lower than approximately 70%of his own.The influence of the obstacle layout on pedestrian lane and egress efficiency is also studied with this model.The presence of a small obstacle does not obstruct the walking of pedestrians;in contrast,it may help to improve the egress efficiency by guiding the pedestrian flow and mitigating the reduction of pedestrian system orderliness. 展开更多

In an effort to clarify the formation mechanism of LPSO structure in Mg-Y-Zn alloy,the chemical environment and structural ordering in liquid Mg-rich Mg-Y-Zn system are investigated with the aid of ab-initio molecular dynamics simulation.In liquid Mg-rich Mg-Y alloys,the strong Mg-Y interaction is determined,which promotes the formation of fivefold symmetric local structure.For Mg-Zn alloys,the weak Mg-Zn interaction results in the fivefold symmetry weakening in the liquid structure.Due to the coexistence of Y and Zn,the strong attractive interaction is introduced in liquid Mg-Y-Zn ternary alloy,and contributes to the clustering of Mg,Y,Zn launched from Zn.What is more,the distribution of local structures becomes closer to that in pure Mg compared with that in binary Mg-Y and Mg-Zn alloys.These results should relate to the origins of the Y/Zn segregation zone and close-packed stacking mode in LPSO structure,which provides a new insight into the formation mechanism of LPSO structure at atomic level. 展开更多

Accurate and efficient online parameter identification and state estimation are crucial for leveraging digital twin simulations to optimize the operation of near-carbon-free nuclear energy systems.In previous studies,we developed a reactor operation digital twin(RODT).However,non-differentiabilities and discontinuities arise when employing machine learning-based surrogate forward models,challenging traditional gradient-based inverse methods and their variants.This study investigated deterministic and metaheuristic algorithms and developed hybrid algorithms to address these issues.An efficient modular RODT software framework that incorporates these methods into its post-evaluation module is presented for comprehensive comparison.The methods were rigorously assessed based on convergence profiles,stability with respect to noise,and computational performance.The numerical results show that the hybrid KNNLHS algorithm excels in real-time online applications,balancing accuracy and efficiency with a prediction error rate of only 1%and processing times of less than 0.1 s.Contrastingly,algorithms such as FSA,DE,and ADE,although slightly slower(approximately 1 s),demonstrated higher accuracy with a 0.3%relative L_2 error,which advances RODT methodologies to harness machine learning and system modeling for improved reactor monitoring,systematic diagnosis of off-normal events,and lifetime management strategies.The developed modular software and novel optimization methods presented offer pathways to realize the full potential of RODT for transforming energy engineering practices. 展开更多

The Disintegration of a Floating Ferrofluid Layer into an Ordered Drop System in a Vertical Magnetic Field

Magnetic fluids,also known as ferrofluids,are versatile functional materials with a wide range of applications.These applications span from industrial uses such as vacuum seals,actuators,and acoustic devices to medical uses,including serving as contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),delivering medications to specific locations within the body,and magnetic hyperthermia for cancer treatment.The use of a non-wettable immiscible liquid substrate to support a layer of magnetic fluid opens up new possibilities for studying various fluid flows and related instabilities in multi-phase systems with both a free surface and an interface.The presence of two deformable boundaries within a ferrofluid layer significantly reduces the critical magnetic field strength required to transform the layer into an organized system of drops or polygonal figures evolving according to the intensity,frequency and direction of the considered magnetic field.This paper experimentally investigates this problem by assuming a uniform magnetic field perpendicular to the surface.This specific subject has not been previously explored experimentally.The critical magnetic field intensity required to destabilize the ferrofluid layer is determined based on the layer’s thickness and the fluid’s initial magnetic susceptibility.It is demonstrated that the critical magnetic field strength needed to disrupt the initially continuous ferrofluid layer increases with the layer’s thickness.Conversely,an increase in the ferrofluid’s magnetic susceptibility results in a decrease in the critical magnetic field strength.The emerging droplet structures are analyzed in terms of the number of drops,their size,and the periodicity of their arrangement.The number of droplets formed depends on the initial thickness of the layer,the presence or absence of a stable rupture in the upper layer,and the rate at which the magnetic field strength is increased to the critical value.A characteristic viscous time is proposed to evaluate the decomposition of the ferrofluid layer,which depends on the duration of the magnetic field’s application.The experimental data on the instability of a ferrofluid layer on a liquid substrate are compared with the theoretical results from the study of“magnetic fluid sandwich structures”conducted by Rannacher and Engel.This comparison highlights the similarities and differences between experimental observations and theoretical predictions,providing a deeper understanding of the behavior of ferrofluid layers under the influence of magnetic fields. 展开更多

Nuclear power plants exhibit non-linear and time-variable dynamics.Therefore,designing a control system that sets the reactor power and forces it to follow the desired load is complicated.A supercritical water reactor(SCWR)is a fourth-generation conceptual reactor.In an SCWR,the non-linear dynamics of the reactor require a controller capable of control-ling the nonlinearities.In this study,a pressure-tube-type SCWR was controlled during reactor power maneuvering with a higher order sliding mode,and the reactor outgoing steam temperature and pressure were controlled simultaneously.In an SCWR,the temperature,pressure,and power must be maintained at a setpoint(desired value)during power maneuvering.Reactor point kinetics equations with three groups of delayed neutrons were used in the simulation.Higher-order and classic sliding mode controllers were separately manufactured to control the plant and were compared with the PI controllers speci-fied in previous studies.The controlled parameters were reactor power,steam temperature,and pressure.Notably,for these parameters,the PI controller had certain instabilities in the presence of disturbances.The classic sliding mode controller had a higher accuracy and stability;however its main drawback was the chattering phenomenon.HOSMC was highly accurate and stable and had a small computational cost.In reality,it followed the desired values without oscillations and chattering. 展开更多

This paper explores model order reduction(MOR)methods for discrete linear and discrete bilinear systems via discrete pulse orthogonal functions(DPOFs).Firstly,the discrete linear systems and the discrete bilinear systems are expanded in the space spanned by DPOFs,and two recurrence formulas for the expansion coefficients of the system’s state variables are obtained.Then,a modified Arnoldi process is applied to both recurrence formulas to construct the orthogonal projection matrices,by which the reduced-order systems are obtained.Theoretical analysis shows that the output variables of the reducedorder systems can match a certain number of the expansion coefficients of the original system’s output variables.Finally,two numerical examples illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed methods. 展开更多

The numerical approach for finding the solution of fractional order systems of boundary value problems (BPVs) is derived in this paper. The implementation of the weighted residuals such as Galerkin, Least Square, and Collocation methods are included for solving fractional order differential equations, which is broadened to acquire the approximate solutions of fractional order systems with differentiable polynomials, namely Legendre polynomials, as basis functions. The algorithm of the residual formulations of matrix form can be coded efficiently. The interpretation of Caputo fractional derivatives is employed here. We have demonstrated these methods numerically through a few examples of linear and nonlinear BVPs. The results in absolute errors show that the present method efficiently finds the numerical solutions of fractional order systems of differential equations. 展开更多

The state-space representation of linear time-invariant (LTI) fractional order systems is introduced, and a proof of their stability theory is also given. Then an efficient identification algorithm is proposed for those fractional order systems. The basic idea of the algorithm is to compute fractional derivatives and the filter simultaneously, i.e., the filtered fractional derivatives can be obtained by computing them in one step, and then system identification can be fulfilled by the least square method. The instrumental variable method is also used in the identification of fractional order systems. In this way, even if there is colored noise in the systems, the unbiased estimation of the parameters can still be obtained. Finally an example of identifying a viscoelastic system is given to show the effectiveness of the aforementioned method. 展开更多

Two new methods, the generalized Levy method and the weighted iteration method, are presented for identification of non-integer order systems. The first method generalizes the Levy identification method from the integer order systems to the non-integer order systems. Then, the weighted iteration method is presented to overcome the shortcomings of the first method. Results show that the proposed methods have better performance compared with the integer order identification method. For the non-integer order systems, the proposed methods have the better fitting for the system frequency response. For the integer order system, if commensurate order scanning is applied, the proposed methods can also achieve the best integer order model which fits the system frequency response. Geometry optimization of p-C_(6)H_(4)-connected cyclo[20]carbon(p-C_(6)H_(4)-C_(20))was carried out at M062X/6-311G(d,p)level,three kinds of bond orders(Mayer,Laplacian,and Wiberg),electron-hole distributions,localized orbital locators(LOL),and infrared(IR)spectrum were also performed at the same level.Based on TD-DFT M062X/6-311G(d,p)method,the first 20 excited states and ultraviolet(UV)spectra of p-C_(6)H_(4)-C_(20) were calculated.Calculation results of π-electron delocalization analyses prove thatπ-electron delocalization of p-C_(6)H_(4)-C_(20) is more likely to occur on shorter C-C bonds rather than longer C-C bonds,and inside/outside of the ring plane rather than above/below the ring plane.Two absorption peaks of p-C_(6)H_(4)-C_(20) locate at about 319 nm and 236 nm,respectively. 展开更多

The stable nanobubbles adhered to mineral surfaces may facilitate their efficient separation via flotation in the mining industry.However,the state of nanobubbles on mineral solid surfaces is still elusive.In this study,molecular dynamics(MD)simulations are employed to examine mineral-like model surfaces with varying degrees of hydrophobicity,modulated by surface charges,to elucidate the adsorption behavior of nanobubbles at the interface.Our findings not only contribute to the fundamental understanding of nanobubbles but also have potential applications in the mining industry.We observed that as the surface charge increases,the contact angle of the nanobubbles increases accordingly with shape transformation from a pancake-like gas film to a cap-like shape,and ultimately forming a stable nanobubble upon an ordered water monolayer.When the solid–water interactions are weak with a small partial charge,the hydrophobic gas(N_(2))molecules accumulate near the solid surfaces.However,we have found,for the first time,that gas molecules assemble a nanobubble on the water monolayer adjacent to the solid surfaces with large partial charges.Such phenomena are attributed to the formation of a hydrophobic water monolayer with a hydrogen bond network structure near the surface. 展开更多

Constituted by BCH component codes and its ordered statistics decoding(OSD),the successive cancellation list(SCL)decoding of U-UV structural codes can provide competent error-correction performance in the short-to-medium length regime.However,this list decoding complexity becomes formidable as the decoding output list size increases.This is primarily incurred by the OSD.Addressing this challenge,this paper proposes the low complexity SCL decoding through reducing the complexity of component code decoding,and pruning the redundant SCL decoding paths.For the former,an efficient skipping rule is introduced for the OSD so that the higher order decoding can be skipped when they are not possible to provide a more likely codeword candidate.It is further extended to the OSD variant,the box-andmatch algorithm(BMA),in facilitating the component code decoding.Moreover,through estimating the correlation distance lower bounds(CDLBs)of the component code decoding outputs,a path pruning(PP)-SCL decoding is proposed to further facilitate the decoding of U-UV codes.In particular,its integration with the improved OSD and BMA is discussed.Simulation results show that significant complexity reduction can be achieved.Consequently,the U-UV codes can outperform the cyclic redundancy check(CRC)-polar codes with a similar decoding complexity. 展开更多

The alkali adatoms with controlled coverage on the surface have been demonstrated to effectively tune the surface band of quantum materials through in situ electron doping.However,the interplay of orderly arranged alkali adatoms with the surface states of quantum materials remains unexplored.Here,by using low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy(STM/S),we observed the emergent 3×3 super modulation of electronic states on the√3×√3R30°(R3)Cs ordered surface of kagome superconductor CsV3Sb5.The nondispersive 3×3 superlattice at R3 ordered surface shows contrast inversion in positive and negative differential conductance maps,indicating a charge order origin.The 3×3 charge order is suppressed with increasing temperature and undetectable at a critical temperature of~62 K.Furthermore,in the Ta substituted sample CsV_(2.6)Ta_(0.4)Sb_(5),where long-range 2×2×2 charge density wave is significantly suppressed,the 3×3 charge order on the R3 ordered surface becomes blurred and much weaker than that in the undoped sample.It indicates that the 3×3 charge order on the R3 ordered surface is directly correlated to the bulk charge density waves in CsV_(3)Sb_(5.O)ur work provides a new platform for understanding and manipulating the cascade of charge orders in kagome superconductors. 展开更多
