The sonocatalytic properties of the as-synthesized samples were investigated by degrading various organic dyes, including acid orange 7 (AOT), rhodamine B (RhB), methyl orange (MO), and methylene blue (MB), under ultrasonic irradiation, revealing that they exhibit excellent sonocatalytic activity toward the degradation of these dyes. Particularly, the synthesized bar-like particles with lengths of-3 μm and widths of-1μm have the highest sonocatalytic activity, and the degradation percentage of AO7 reaches 89% after 30 min of sonocatalysis. The effects of inorganic anions such as CI-, NO3-, SO42-, PO43-, and HCO3- on the sonocatalysis efficiency were investigated. Hydroxyl radicals (·OH) detected by fiuorimetry using terephthalic acid as a probe molecule were found to be produced over the ultrasonic-irradiated LuFeO3 particles. The addition of ethanol, which acts as a· OH scavenger, leads to quenching of "OH radicals and a simultaneous decrease in the dye degrada- tion. This suggests that "OH is the dominant active species responsible for the dye degradation.展开更多

Two types of heating systems were used: one, a spark plasma sintering machine and the second, an electrical oven. The magnetic properties of the resulting specimens have been analyzed and discussed as a function of the grain size and the particles’ morphology. The partial formation of garnet and orthoferrite phases was revealed on the obtained powder through microstructural analyses after 9 h of ball milling. The milled powders were transformed into the orthoferrite phase after the SPS-treatment at 700°C and 900°C. Magnetic-saturation studies revealed magnetic responses up to 12.7 emu/g for specimens SPS-treated at 700°C, whereas 2.1 emu/g for samples SPS-treated at 900°C. Conventionally treated specimens at 700°C developed 0.36 emu/g of magnetization, while 0.93 emu/g was registered for those treated at 900°C.展开更多

The influence of initial Y/Fe mole ratio and calcination temperature on the nature, purity, phase structure, and morphology of the product was investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD), Fourier-transform infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopy,energy-dispersive(EDX) X-ray spectroscopy, and field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM).The results show that the transformation of the as-synthesized YIG from amorphous to orthorhombic and finally to cubic phase occurs with the increase of annealing temperature. On this basis, the pure cubic phase YIG can be obtained by calcination(at 1100℃) of the precursor which is prepared using the hydrothermal treatment of mole ratio of Y:Fe = 1:1.5 exposure to an ammonia atmosphere. Also, the initial Y/Fe mole ratio of 1:1 and calcination temperature of 1000 ℃ are the optimal conditions to form single-phase nanocrystalline YIP. Further, vibrating sample magnetometry(VSM) measurements illustrate the average magnetic saturation, coercivity and remanence of 2.73 and 15.00 emu/g, 42.74 and40.02 Oe, and 1.65 and 4.30 emu/g for YIP and YIG nanocrystals, revealing their soft ferromagnetic character.展开更多
