Two new types of microwave radiometer were studied: a computer gain compensative microwave radiometer and a real-time calibrated microwave radiometer. The long term stability of both designs was optimal because they were insensitive to system gain fluctuations. The continuous calibrated microwave radiometer was also insensitive to system noise fluctuations. The minimum detectable signals were 0.13 and 0.19K respectively under an integration time of 0.6s.展开更多

This paper focuses on the processing and display of the collected dynamic images to achieve a real-time image pro- cessing for the moving objects. Firstly, the median filtering, gain calibration, image segmentation, image binarization, cor- ner detection and edge fitting are employed to process the images of the moving objects to make the image close to the real object. Then, the processed images are simultaneously displayed on a real-time basis to make it easier to analyze, understand and identify them, and thus it reduces the computation complexity. Finally, human-computer interaction (HCI)-friendly in- terface based on VC ++ is designed to accomplish the digital logic transform, image processing and real-time display of the objects. The experiment shows that the proposed algorithm and software design have better real-time performance and accu- racy which can meet the industrial needs.展开更多

By processing pictures with a self-programmed software, the real-time coordinate of an object in a certain coordinate system can be obtained, and further dynamic displacement data and curve of the object can also be achieved. That is, automatic gathering and real-time processing of data can be carried out by this system simultaneously. For this system, first, an untouched monitoring technique is adopted, which can monitor or detect objects several to hundreds of meters apart; second, it has flexible installation condition and good monitoring precision of sub-millimeter degree; third, it is fit for dynamic, quasi-dynamic and static monitoring of large engineering structures. Through several tests and applications in large bridges, good reliability and dominance of the system is proved.展开更多

The measurement precision of the arrival time is crucial for determination of the angular resolution. For this purpose, we need to obtain a precise relative time offset for each detector and to apply the calibration process. The time offset is associated with the pho- tomultiplier tube, cable, relevant electronic circuits, etc. In view of the transit time through long cables being heavily dependent on the ambient temperature, a real-time calibration method for the cable transit time is investigated in this paper. Even with a poor-resolution time-to-digital converter, this method can achieve high precision. This has been successfully demonstrated with the Front-End-Electronic board used in the Daya Bay neutrino experiment.展开更多
