Long term stability is the main factor that influences the minimum detectable signal of microwave radiometers. Two new types of microwave radiometer were studied: a computer gain compensative microwave radiometer and a real-time calibrated microwave radiometer. The long term stability of both designs was optimal because they were insensitive to system gain fluctuations. The continuous calibrated microwave radiometer was also insensitive to system noise fluctuations. The minimum detectable signals were 0.13 and 0.19K respectively under an integration time of 0.6s. 展开更多

Real-time detection for object size has now become a hot topic in the testing field and image processing is the core algorithm. This paper focuses on the processing and display of the collected dynamic images to achieve a real-time image pro- cessing for the moving objects. Firstly, the median filtering, gain calibration, image segmentation, image binarization, cor- ner detection and edge fitting are employed to process the images of the moving objects to make the image close to the real object. Then, the processed images are simultaneously displayed on a real-time basis to make it easier to analyze, understand and identify them, and thus it reduces the computation complexity. Finally, human-computer interaction (HCI)-friendly in- terface based on VC ++ is designed to accomplish the digital logic transform, image processing and real-time display of the objects. The experiment shows that the proposed algorithm and software design have better real-time performance and accu- racy which can meet the industrial needs. 展开更多

Based on digital image processing technique, a real-time system is developed to monitor and detect the dynamic displacement of engineering structures. By processing pictures with a self-programmed software, the real-time coordinate of an object in a certain coordinate system can be obtained, and further dynamic displacement data and curve of the object can also be achieved. That is, automatic gathering and real-time processing of data can be carried out by this system simultaneously. For this system, first, an untouched monitoring technique is adopted, which can monitor or detect objects several to hundreds of meters apart; second, it has flexible installation condition and good monitoring precision of sub-millimeter degree; third, it is fit for dynamic, quasi-dynamic and static monitoring of large engineering structures. Through several tests and applications in large bridges, good reliability and dominance of the system is proved. 展开更多

In ground-based extensive air shower expemments, the chrection and energy are reconstructecl Dy mea- suring the relative arrival time of secondary particles, and the energy they deposit. The measurement precision of the arrival time is crucial for determination of the angular resolution. For this purpose, we need to obtain a precise relative time offset for each detector and to apply the calibration process. The time offset is associated with the pho- tomultiplier tube, cable, relevant electronic circuits, etc. In view of the transit time through long cables being heavily dependent on the ambient temperature, a real-time calibration method for the cable transit time is investigated in this paper. Even with a poor-resolution time-to-digital converter, this method can achieve high precision. This has been successfully demonstrated with the Front-End-Electronic board used in the Daya Bay neutrino experiment. 展开更多

This paper presents a systematic method of designing the calibration toolbox of automotive electronic control unit(ECU)based on real-time workshop(RTW).To break the strong coupling of each functional layer, the hierarchical architecture of the calibration system is divided into the bottom driver layer, the intermediate interface layer and the top application layer. The driver functions meeting the specification of the automotive open system are sent and received in the intermediate interface layer. To reduce the development costs, the portable user codes are generated by RTW which provides a development environment from system simulation to hardware implementation.Specifically, the calibration codes yielded from the controller area network(CAN)calibration protocol(CCP)module are integrated into the control codes, called by a compiler in the daemons to build a corresponding project, and then downloaded into the object board to provide the A2L file. The experiments illustrate that the different drive modules are only needed to be replaced for the implementation of the calibration system applied in different hardware platforms. 展开更多
