In open-pit mines,pit slope as one of the important parameters affects the mine economy and total minable reserve,and it is also affected by different uncertainties which arising from many sources.One of the most crit...In open-pit mines,pit slope as one of the important parameters affects the mine economy and total minable reserve,and it is also affected by different uncertainties which arising from many sources.One of the most critical sources of uncertainty effects on the pit slope design is rock mass geomechanical properties.By comparing the probability of failure resulted from deterministic procedure and probabilistic one,this paper investigated the effects of aforesaid uncertainties on open-pit slope stability in metal mines.In this way,to reduce the effect of variance,it implemented Latin Hypercube Sampling(LHS)technique.Furthermore,a hypothesis test was exerted to compare the effects on two cases in Middle East.Subsequently,the investigation approved high influence of geomechanical uncertainties on overall pit steepness and stability in both iron and copper mines,though on the first case the effects were just over.展开更多

Based on the principle of or...The laws of influence of different factors have been analyzed in order to enhance the working efficiency and fatigue life of the cleaning element in brush shape of the sugarcane harvester. Based on the principle of orthogonal experiment design, the virtual-orthogonal-experimental analysis for the cleaning element is carried out on the finite element analysis (FEA) software-ANSYS after analyzing the nonlinear structural behavior in the working procedure. The results are analyzed with the overall balancing method, and then the optimal combination is got, which is made up of different levels of different factors. Also the optimal combination of design parameters of the cleaning element received fiom the virtual experimental analysis is conducted an experiment to confirm that the virtual analysis model and results are right, and the effect of factors on the function of the cleaning element is obtained by more analysis and further optimizing.展开更多
As a new type of marine structure,floating breakwater can provide suitable water area for coastal residents.In this paper,a multi-module floating breakwater with three cylinders was designed.According to the character...As a new type of marine structure,floating breakwater can provide suitable water area for coastal residents.In this paper,a multi-module floating breakwater with three cylinders was designed.According to the characteristics of each module,the elastic connector was created.The cabins with functions such as living,generating electricity and entertainment were arranged.A linear spring constrained design wave(LSCDW)method for strength analysis of floating marine structures with multi-module elastic connections was proposed.The numerical model was verified by 1:50 similarity ratio in the test tank.According to the analysis of design wave and extreme wave conditions,considering the mooring loads and environmental loads and connector loads,the overall strength of breakwater was analyzed by LSCDW method.These studies can provide new insights and theoretical guidance for the design of multi-module floating structures.展开更多
For a cost-effective connection of large-scale longdistance wind energy,a low frequency alternating current(LFAC)transmission scheme(16.7 Hz or 20 Hz)is proposed as an alternative to the conventional high voltage alte...For a cost-effective connection of large-scale longdistance wind energy,a low frequency alternating current(LFAC)transmission scheme(16.7 Hz or 20 Hz)is proposed as an alternative to the conventional high voltage alternating current(HVAC)transmission scheme(50 Hz or 60 Hz)and the recently popular high voltage direct current(HVDC)transmission scheme(0 Hz).The technical feasibility of the LFAC system is demonstrated but the basis for identifying the distance ranges for which LFAC would be preferable to HVAC and HVDC are not established and the dependence of this range on factors,such as power transfer rating,voltage rating and cable/line type,is not investigated.This paper presents an in-depth analysis for the overall cost of LFAC system and then provides an extensive comparison with HVAC and HVDC,to explore the distance ranges over which LFAC is cost-effective over both HVAC and HVDC in connections of offshore and remote onshore wind energy.The results demonstrate that the LFAC system does possess ranges in the intermediate distance for which it is more cost-effective than both HVAC and HVDC,and its overall cost advantage is generally larger in the overhead line(OHL)connection of remote onshore wind energy than the cable connection of offshore wind energy.展开更多
