Neurodegenerative diseases(NDs)have become one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide,and cause enormous pain and suffering for both patients and their families.Some of the most common NDs include Alz...Neurodegenerative diseases(NDs)have become one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide,and cause enormous pain and suffering for both patients and their families.Some of the most common NDs include Alzheimer’s disease,Parkinson’s disease(PD)and Huntington’s disease,among others(Feng,2020).PD is a widespread neurodegenerative disease that affects more than 10 million people worldwide(No author listed,2021).The direct cause of the disease is unknown,but it is characterized by the selective degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in the midbrain in the substantia nigra.This leads to the depletion of dopamine(3,4-dihydroxyphenethylamine,DA)in the striatum of patients,in addition to the existence of abnormalα-synuclein in nerve cells and the development of toxic protein aggregates in neurons called Lewy bodies,which causes muscle stiffness,slowness of movements and tremors.It is believed that a combination of genetic and environmental factors may be the cause of PD,but the exact reason for the disease is not yet fully understood.展开更多

Negative Transfer of Culture will have cultural misunderstandings and conflicts between nations and hinder the smooth progress of cross-cultural communication. In order to avoid unnecessary misunderstanding, strengthen the friendship between different countries, we should understand, learn and overcome cultural negative transfer. Osteoporosis,a metabolic bone disease characterized by low bone mineral density and deterioration of bone microarchitecture,has led to a high risk of fatal osteoporotic fractures worldwide.Accumulating evidence has re...Osteoporosis,a metabolic bone disease characterized by low bone mineral density and deterioration of bone microarchitecture,has led to a high risk of fatal osteoporotic fractures worldwide.Accumulating evidence has revealed that sexual dimorphism is a notable feature of osteoporosis,with sex-specific differences in epidemiology and pathogenesis.Specifically,females are more susceptible than males to osteoporosis,while males are more prone to disability or death from the disease.To date,sex chromosome abnormalities and steroid hormones have been proven to contribute greatly to sexual dimorphism in osteoporosis by regulating the functions of bone cells.Understanding the sex-specific differences in osteoporosis and its related complications is essential for improving treatment strategies tailored to women and men.This literature review focuses on the mechanisms underlying sexual dimorphism in osteoporosis,mainly in a population of aging patients,chronic glucocorticoid administration,and diabetes.Moreover,we highlight the implications of sexual dimorphism for developing therapeutics and preventive strategies and screening approaches tailored to women and men.Additionally,the challenges in translating bench research to bedside treatments and future directions to overcome these obstacles will be discussed.展开更多

文摘The key pathogenesis of chronic myeloid leukemia(CML)is the formation of BCR-ABL fusion gene,encoding a 210 kDa Bcr-Abl tyrosine kinase,which is crucial for the occurrence and development of CML.Imatinib(IM)is the first targeted anticancer drug approved by FDA for the treatment of CML;however,some patients,especially those in accelerated phase and blastic phase,develop primary or secondary drug resistance to IM.Particularly,the most challenging resistance is caused by T315I mutation of Bcr-Abl,which represents approximately 15%–20%of all acquired mutations and renders cell resistant to a variety of tyrosine kinase inhibitors.1,2 Thus,there is an urgent need to develop novel strategies to overcome Bcr-Abl T315I-meidated IM resistance.

Previous methods suffer from limitations such as being trapped in local optima and lacking stability. To overcome them, we propose a novel eliteguided mechanism based on information theory. Firstly, an elite solution is generated through a dimension reduction strategy and incorporated to the initialization population.
文摘Intelligent and connected vehicles(ICVs)are confronted with critically complex traffic scenarios and safety challenges that have attracted increasing attention from academia and industry.The intelligent safety of ICVs involves several technologies and requires the common efforts of researchers and engineers,including the safety of the intended functionality(SOTIF),the safety of artificial intelligence,the intricacies of cybersecurity,and ethical dilemmas.Ensuring the intelligent safety of ICVs presents substantial chal-lenges in both research and commercialization,particularly SOTIF,which refers to the absence of unreasonable risk owing to hazards resulting from functional insufficiencies of the intended functiona-lity or reasonably foreseeable misuse by person.Because of the limited scene coverage ability of training samples and the practical application conditions without boundary restrictions,it is very dif-ficult to find the functional insufficiency of the intended function-ality and overcome it under dynamic unknown scenarios,which is also the source of SOTIF.

文摘Osteoporosis,a metabolic bone disease characterized by low bone mineral density and deterioration of bone microarchitecture,has led to a high risk of fatal osteoporotic fractures worldwide.Accumulating evidence has revealed that sexual dimorphism is a notable feature of osteoporosis,with sex-specific differences in epidemiology and pathogenesis.Specifically,females are more susceptible than males to osteoporosis,while males are more prone to disability or death from the disease.To date,sex chromosome abnormalities and steroid hormones have been proven to contribute greatly to sexual dimorphism in osteoporosis by regulating the functions of bone cells.Understanding the sex-specific differences in osteoporosis and its related complications is essential for improving treatment strategies tailored to women and men.This literature review focuses on the mechanisms underlying sexual dimorphism in osteoporosis,mainly in a population of aging patients,chronic glucocorticoid administration,and diabetes.Moreover,we highlight the implications of sexual dimorphism for developing therapeutics and preventive strategies and screening approaches tailored to women and men.Additionally,the challenges in translating bench research to bedside treatments and future directions to overcome these obstacles will be discussed.
