Planation surfaces (PS) play a major role in reconstruction of the evolutionary history of landforms in local areas. Thus, objective and consistent mapping of planation surfaces from remotely sensed data (e.g., sat...Planation surfaces (PS) play a major role in reconstruction of the evolutionary history of landforms in local areas. Thus, objective and consistent mapping of planation surfaces from remotely sensed data (e.g., satellite imagery, digital elevation models (DEMs)) is paramount for interpreting the geomorphological evolution. Due to the lack of dated sedimentary covers and the difficulties of com-prehensive field work, the number and age of planation surfaces in the Southwest Hubei (湖北) Prov-ince of China are still controversial. In order to map the PS in the study area, four data visualization techniques including ETM+ false color composite, grey-scale DEM, shaded relief model (SRM) and painted relief model (P M) were examined. It is found that the PRM is the most optimal technique for planation surface mapping. The study area was successfully mapped by visual interpretation of a PRM derived from ASTER GDEM. The mapped PS was divided into five classes in terms of elevation ac-cording to previous studies, varying from 1 700-2 000 (PS1), 1 300-1 500 (PS2), 1 000-1 200 (PS3), 800-900 (PS4) to 500-600 (PS5) m. The results were partially compared with the published works. It is revealed that this method of mapping enjoys a higher accuracy and can reduce the time and ef- fort required in the traditional mapping to a large extent. The results also demonstrated that the PRM is an effective tool for geomorphological fea-ture mapping with considerable accuracy. The pre- liminary results can serve to facilitate locating rep-resentative samples for the planation surfaces dating, thus to determine the ages of PS in the study areas.展开更多

Due to the presence of adhesions, fractures, blurs, and ot...Automatic identification of characters marked on billets is very important for steelworks to achieve manu- facturing and logistics informatization management. Due to the presence of adhesions, fractures, blurs, and other problems in characters painted on billets, character recognition accuracy with machine vision is relatively low, and hardly meets practical application requirements. To make the character recognition results more reliable and accu- rate, an identification results classification and post-pro- cessing method has been proposed in this paper. By analyzing issues in the image segmentation and recognition stage, the recognition result classification model, based on character encoding rules and recognition confidence, is built, and the character recognition results can be classified as correct, suspect, or wrong. In the post-processing stage, a human-machine-cooperation mechanism with a post- processing interface is designed to eliminate error infor- mation in suspect and wrong types. The system was developed and experiments conducted with images acquired in an iron and steel factory. The results show the character recognition accuracy to be approximately 89% using the character recognizer. However, this result cannot be directly applied in information management systems. With the proposed post-processing method, a human worker will query the suspect and wrong results classified by the system, determine whether the result is correct or wrong, and then, correct the wrong result through the post-processing interface. Using this method, the character recognition accuracy ultimately improves to 99.4%. Thus, the results will be more reliable applied in a practical system.展开更多
This study explored the synergistic interaction of sewage sludge(SS)and automotive paint sludge(PS)during co-pyrolysis for the optimized treatment of sewage sludge in cement kiln systems,utilizing thermogravimetric an...This study explored the synergistic interaction of sewage sludge(SS)and automotive paint sludge(PS)during co-pyrolysis for the optimized treatment of sewage sludge in cement kiln systems,utilizing thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)and thermogravimetric-mass spectrometry(TGA-MS).The result reveals the coexisting synergistic and antagonistic effects in the co-pyrolysis of SS/PS.The synergistic effect arises from hydrogen free radicals in SS and catalytic components in PS,while the main source of the antagonistic effect is that,during the mechanical mixing process,the SS/PS is converted from the particulate form into a dough-like rubbery which contributes to the film-forming effect,hindering the volatilization of volatile components.SS/PS co-pyrolysis reduces the yielding of tar production while increasing coke and gas.This study will provide some in-depth insights into the co-pyrolysis of SS/PS,and offer theoretical support for the subsequent research on the collaborative disposal processes in cement kilns.展开更多

This paper focuses on the optimization method for multi-skilled painting personnel scheduling.The budget working time analysis is carried out considering the influence of operating area,difficulty of spraying area,mul...This paper focuses on the optimization method for multi-skilled painting personnel scheduling.The budget working time analysis is carried out considering the influence of operating area,difficulty of spraying area,multi-skilled workers,and worker’s efficiency,then a mathematical model is established to minimize the completion time. The constraints of task priority,paint preparation,pump management,and neighbor avoidance in the ship block painting production are considered. Based on this model,an improved scatter search(ISS)algorithm is designed,and the hybrid approximate dynamic programming(ADP)algorithm is used to improve search efficiency. In addition,the two solution combination methods of path-relinking and task sequence combination are used to enhance the search breadth and depth. The numerical experimental results show that ISS has a significant advantage in solving efficiency compared with the solver in small scale instances;Compared with the scatter search algorithm and genetic algorithm,ISS can stably improve the solution quality. Verified by the production example,ISS effectively shortens the total completion time of the production,which is suitable for scheduling problems in the actual painting production of the shipyard.展开更多

Sources of formaldehyde in indoor environments include textiles, paints, wallpapers, glues, adhesives, varnishes, and lacquers;furniture and wooden products like particleboard, plywood, and medium-density fiberboard that contain formaldehyde-based resins;shoe products;cosmetics;electronic devices;and other consumer goods like paper products and insecticides. According to the World Health Organisation, indoor formaldehyde concentrations shouldn’t exceed 0.1 mg/m<sup>3</sup>. The methods include membrane separation, plasma, photocatalytic decomposition, physisorption, chemisorption, biological and botanical filtration, and catalytic oxidation. Materials based on metal oxides and supported noble metals work as oxidation catalysts. Consequently, a paint that passively eliminates aldehydes from buildings can be developed by adding absorbents and formaldehyde scavengers to the latex composition. It will be crucial to develop techniques for the careful detection and removal of formaldehyde in the future. Additionally, microbial decomposition is less expensive and produces fewer pollutants. The main goal of future research will be to develop a biological air quality control system that will boost the effectiveness of formaldehyde elimination. The various methods of removing formaldehyde through paints have been reviewed here, including the use of mixed metal oxides, formaldehyde-absorbing emulsions, nano titanium dioxide, catalytic oxidation, and aromatic formaldehyde abating materials that can improve indoor air quality.展开更多

Then, backward radiated waves are returned to the direction of incidence by scattering and energy radiation of the surface waves. Hence, the backward radiation could be used in assessing the interracial state between layer and substrate because the surface wave is sensitive to the change of physical properties in a surface region. Painting surface treatment of commercial products and articles occasionally hide the surface region trouble such as roughness and crack. The evaluation of interfacial state under painting layer is very important in the prevention of great accidence, hence the evaluation technique should be nondestructive, fast and easy applicable to the fields. The backward radiations were measured for the painted glass with periodic interfacial roughness immersed in water tank. The effect of interfacial roughness on the angular pattern and frequency spectrum of the ultrasonic backward radiation was investigated to develop the nondestructive technique for interfacial roughness evaluation.展开更多

Unfamiliar with Western post-Renaissance techniques, most notably the use of perspective and o...This essay explores the poetic responses of several Qing-dynasty poets to their encounter with Western-style oil painting. Unfamiliar with Western post-Renaissance techniques, most notably the use of perspective and of oil paints, these poets expressed their anxiety, distaste, curiosity and appreciation of Western aesthetics and cultural practices through their poems. By focusing on previously un-translated poems of Weng Fanggang 翁方纲 (1733-1818), Li Xialing 李遐龄 (1768-1832), Kang Youwei 康有为 (1858-1927) and others, I argue that these poems function as metaphors for the complex ways in which China's late imperial elites negotiated their country's encounter with the West, both as a tight-knit group bound by dynastic conventions and as a loose network of individual thinkers whose varied talents allowed for highly original reflections on the cultural potential of East-West encounters. I will show that--while strictly adhering to traditional Chinese prosodic conventions--these poets through their creative and nuanced poetic commentaries on Sino-Western relations achieved an unusual degree of cultural cross-fertilization. Intrigued by the "foreignness" of the art works they set their eyes on, these poets, I will illustrate, were able to expand the horizons of poetic discourse without surrendering to the lure of the foreign or abandoning indigenous formal conventions.展开更多

文摘The theory of“imitation”in painting occupies a leading position in western art,which originated from the theory of“imitation”in ancient Greece,and has become one of the art theories affecting the world through the continuous development of later generations.Through the exploration of the source of“imitation”in China and the West,there are some comments on the meaning of“imitation”in Chinese classical painting theory,such as“transfer model writing”and“image form”,which is obvious differences from the west.Traditional Chinese painting is a combination of careful observation of natural things and subjective emotions to express their own aesthetic feelings,and ultimately form a vivid artistic conception.Modern imitation is borrowed from Western imitation.In fact,imitation in traditional painting has its own meaning,which contains Chinese aesthetic thought.“Imitation”aesthetics is unique in traditional Chinese painting and is the most important form of painting art.

文摘Oil painting is a traditional Western painting form.With the introduction of China and the influence of China’s traditional painting and aesthetics,the painting style became more distinctive,expanding a new development direction of oil painting,and thus imagery oil painting came into being.Color,as the most important element in imagery oil painting,mainly plays the role of mood creation and emotional expression.Many creators are good at injecting their thoughts and emotions into the paintings through color matching,so as to enhance the artistic expression of the paintings.This paper analyzes the color expression characteristics of imagery oil painting and explores the color expression techniques in imagery oil painting and mood creation of imagery oil painting from several aspects.

文摘Generalized Lamb surface waves are generated in a surface region when ultrasonic waves are incident to the layered substrates such as painted specimen in liquid. Then, backward radiated waves are returned to the direction of incidence by scattering and energy radiation of the surface waves. Hence, the backward radiation could be used in assessing the interracial state between layer and substrate because the surface wave is sensitive to the change of physical properties in a surface region. Painting surface treatment of commercial products and articles occasionally hide the surface region trouble such as roughness and crack. The evaluation of interfacial state under painting layer is very important in the prevention of great accidence, hence the evaluation technique should be nondestructive, fast and easy applicable to the fields. The backward radiations were measured for the painted glass with periodic interfacial roughness immersed in water tank. The effect of interfacial roughness on the angular pattern and frequency spectrum of the ultrasonic backward radiation was investigated to develop the nondestructive technique for interfacial roughness evaluation.
文摘The making of figurines can be dated back to the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period (475 B.C.-221), when, instead of burying slaves with the master when he died, figurines were made for burial. This was progress for the society. Most figurines were made of wood during the Warring States Period and the early period of the Western Han Dynasty. After the Han Dynasty pottery and clay were used instead of wood.
文摘This essay explores the poetic responses of several Qing-dynasty poets to their encounter with Western-style oil painting. Unfamiliar with Western post-Renaissance techniques, most notably the use of perspective and of oil paints, these poets expressed their anxiety, distaste, curiosity and appreciation of Western aesthetics and cultural practices through their poems. By focusing on previously un-translated poems of Weng Fanggang 翁方纲 (1733-1818), Li Xialing 李遐龄 (1768-1832), Kang Youwei 康有为 (1858-1927) and others, I argue that these poems function as metaphors for the complex ways in which China's late imperial elites negotiated their country's encounter with the West, both as a tight-knit group bound by dynastic conventions and as a loose network of individual thinkers whose varied talents allowed for highly original reflections on the cultural potential of East-West encounters. I will show that--while strictly adhering to traditional Chinese prosodic conventions--these poets through their creative and nuanced poetic commentaries on Sino-Western relations achieved an unusual degree of cultural cross-fertilization. Intrigued by the "foreignness" of the art works they set their eyes on, these poets, I will illustrate, were able to expand the horizons of poetic discourse without surrendering to the lure of the foreign or abandoning indigenous formal conventions.
