Methods The study was conducted in three senior high schools of Shangcai County with comparable socio-cultural, economic, and demographic characteristics, two as intervention sites and one as the control. A three-month life-planning skills training course was conducted among all grade one students in the intervention schools. The baseline survey was conducted prior to the intervention, once again three months after the intervention was initiated. Data were collected through questionnaires, FGDs and 1Dis to evaluate the effect of the intervention program. Results After the intervention, the median score of reproductive health knowledge was higher in the intervention group (55.66) than that in control group (38.68). Students from the intervention group were also more comfortable with their developmental changes which were going through, In the end line survey, 92.70% of the students in the intervention group suggested that reproductive health education should be carried out among all middle school students in Shangcai County. Multivariate analysis also indicated that peers and family had a significant effect on students' sex-related knowledge, attitudes and behaviors. Conclusion Sex and reproductive health education via provision of life-planning skills training can significantly increase students' sex and reproductive health knowl- edge and was welcomed by students, teachers and parents.展开更多

The school is an important component of care and support to achieve good outcome as children spend a considerable time in school. In some developed countries, there are guidelines and regulations on support and care of children with chronic diseases such as Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (Type 1 DM). In most developing countries where these regulations are not in place, parents have an important role to play in encouraging optimal care for their wards while at school, which include informing school authority, submission of care plan in collaboration with the healthcare team and providing equipment necessary for care task at school. Aim and Objectives: The aim of this study was to review the attitudes of parents in a developing country towards management of their children with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) at School. Methods: Parents of all children with Type 1 DM seen at the endocrine unit of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital were invited to participate. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Information on bio data, details of care in school and challenges experienced were documented and HbA1c was done for all children. Results: The Parents of eighteen children and adolescents with Type 1 DM participated in the study. The age range of the children was between 5 and 17.3 years, mean age of 12.37 ±4.2 years. Mean duration of DM 3.37 ±2.6 years and mean HbA1c was 10.02% ±2.5%. All children except one attended school as day students. Two parents (11.1%) did not inform the school of child’s diabetes. No parent gave a written plan of diabetes care/treatment of hypoglycaemia in school and 4 parents (22.2%) did not make contact with school when child was in school. No child had a glucometers or took insulin to school. Five parents (27.8%) adjusted or omitted morning insulin dose to prevent hypoglycaemias in school. Fifteen (83.3%) children were on twice daily insulin injections. Six children (33.3%) are from high socioeconomic class. All responses were from mothers and 15 (83.3%) of responders had at least secondary education. Conclusion: This study demonstrates poor attitude and deficiencies in care of children living with Type 1 DM in school. There is need for education of parents and presentation of written plans for care of every child with Type 1 DM in school.展开更多

The sample was included of 54 students with hearing impairment from inclusive school whom their age and IQ were matched. They were randomly divided into an experimental and a control group (27 students in each group). The participants were assessed by Coopersmith Self-esteem Inventory (58-items version). The gathered data were analysed using the t-test method through the SPSS package. The results showed that training life skills to students with hearing impairment promote their self-esteem. In other words, life skills training is effective for enhancing the self-esteem of hearing impaired students in inclusive schools.展开更多

文摘At the end of 2021 to create a new model of characteristic software talent training for independent and controllable key software fields, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly approved the establishment of the first batch of 33 Characteristic Pilot Schools of software. As a member of characteristic software schools, the HIT School of Software has been approved and will focus on the construction of 2 characteristic directions, which are large-scale industrial software and industrial professional application software. In order to achieve the goal,it is urgent to develop a comprehensive management platform to control the entire process of talent training,so that we can standardize, modelling, and digitized the entire process of characteristic software talent training.By relating all aspects of student training with and implementing the ability-index mechanisms,we will continuously collect big-data of the entire process of student growth, and generate multidimensional student ability portraits for evaluating the effect of talent training, and adjust as well as optimizing the growth path for students themselves during their studying.Employers will be able to identify talents accurately and provide effective reference for colleges to adjust training plans. This paper will analyze the needs of the platform, provide demand analysis of the platform, extract the correlation model between training, conclude the relations between ability-index activities and ability indicators, and give a reasonable overall system design scheme.
文摘Recognizing the importance of personal narratives in general and in the field of teacher training in particular this paper first presents a review of research in the field, offers several definitions and theories of analysis, and then provides readers with the personal narratives and the analyses of three fourth-year students in the Department of English at a College for Teacher Training. The goal is to find out, learn, and make use of the voices, attitudes, experiences, visions, successes, failures, hopes, and frustrations of students engaged in teacher education. The conclusion asserts the necessity of adopting a model of training which is based on students' personal narratives--one which encourages and strengthens partnership between students cooperating teachers, and academics
文摘Training room is an important place for higher vocational colleges to improve students' practical skills, is an important component of the whole curriculum system and is also an important part of college characteristics and teaching quality. Taking Jiuzhou College of Vocation and Technology as an example, this paper analyzes the problems existing in the running process of the training room and puts forward the reform plan to realize the reasonable use of the training room investment and produce the maximum benefit.
文摘AIM:To determine the benefits of a 10-wk resistance training programme on cardiovascular health in nonobese and active adolescents.METHODS:This is a pragmatic randomised controlled intervention. The study was carried out in a Hong Kong Government secondary school.Thirty-eight lean and active boys and girls were randomised to either the resistance training group or the control group.Students in the resistance training group received in-school 10-wk supervised resistance training twice per week, with each session lasting 70 min.Main outcome measures taken before and after training included brachial endothelial dependent flow-mediated dilation, body composition, fasting serum lipids, fasting glucose and insulin, high sensitive C-reactive protein,24-h ambulatory blood pressure and aerobic fitness.RESULTS:The only training related change was in endothelial dependent flow-mediated dilation which increased from 8.5%to 9.8%.A main effect of time and an interaction(P<0.005) indicated that this improvement was a result of the 10-wk resistance training.Main effects for time(P<0.05) in a number of anthropometric, metabolic and vascular variables were noted;however, there were no significant interactions indicating the change was more likely an outcome of normal growth and development as opposed to a training effect.CONCLUSION:Ten weeks of resistance training in school appears to have some vascular benefit in active, lean children.
