The anti-Japanese woodcuts focus on the red revolutionary culture and describe the connotation of the Anti-Japanese War era,which is self-evident in the commemorative value of China’s revolutionary struggle history.For example,in Shanxi,China,woodcut art activities and social practice promotion activities organized around the theme of the Anti-Japanese War are also everywhere,which all show the people’s nature of the Chinese people during the revolutionary struggle from the two aspects of the red culture of the Anti-Japanese War and traditional art and culture,and its humanistic connotation is quite profound.In this paper,we first introduce the historical origin of woodcut during the Anti-Japanese War,and then show the people’s value connotation of woodcut art activities in Shanxi.This paper mainly discusses the image narration,language and picture narration and construction significance of woodcuts in Shanxi’s War of Resistance,fully reveals the narrative nature of image media,strives to arouse people’s recognition of this period of Shanxi’s War of Resistance culture and history,and reflects the realistic value and significance of Shanxi’s War of Resistance Woodcuts art activities.

Second, adherence to Marxism is a source of effective guidance for China's cultural development. Marxism is a crystallization of advanced human culture. It reveals culture's nature, characteristics, structure, functions and development patterns and provides the well-conceived methodology guiding cultural development. In terms of worldviews, methodologies and values, it offers a reasonable premise upon which people can understand, handle and carry out cultural development. In addition, it keeps examining and criticizing these premises and restructuring them. This makes cultural development, continuous, standard, pioneering and creative. Third, people's creativity is a source of strength for their confidence in their culture. The people are creators of culture and their practice, and creation boost cultural development. The Chinese nation is creative and is highly capable of cultural creation. The great practice of building socialism with Chinese characteristics is an inexhaustible source of the people's cultural creation. To maintain their confidence in Chinese culture, the Chinese people must emancipate their minds, develop new concepts, analyze new developments, review their fresh experiences, and keep creating and developing socialist new culture.

In 1923, Wu Ruiyan, a schoolgirl at the Beijing People＇s Art Drama School, starred in a play titled Hero and Beauty, written by Chert Dabei. This was the first joint performance of male and female performers in the history of Chinese drama. The incident immediately triggered a debate in the Morning Newspaper Supplement between a group of middle-class intellectuals concerning ＂female involvement in art performances＂. This paper sees the boom in female participation in politics in the 1920s, as well as the ＂improvement in traditional drama＂ during the early republican period in China as the reasons behind the discussion. This incident shows how the New Cultural Movement shaped intellectuals＇ views on females and art performances.
