In this paper, we study the large time behavior of solutions of the parabolic semilinear equation δtu-div(a(x)△↓u) = -|u|^αu in (0,∞) × R^N, where α 〉 0 is constant and a∈ Cb^1(R^N) is a symmetric periodic matrix satisfying some ellipticity assumptions.Considering an integrable initial data u0 and α ∈ (2/N, 3/N), we prove that the large time behavior of solutions is given by the solution U(t, x) of the homogenized linear problem δtU-div(a^h△↓U)=0,U(0) = C, where a^h is the homogenized matrix of a(x), C is a positive constant and δ is the Dirac measure at 0. 展开更多

The boundary value problem of woven membrane is considered, the dual asymptotic expression of the exact solution is given, and its approximation and error estimation are discussed. We study the multiscale finite element method for solving multiscale elliptic problems with highly oscillating coefficients,which is designed to accurately capture the large scale behaviors of the solution without resolving the small scale characters.The key idea is to construct the multiscale base functions in the local partial differential equation with proper boundary conditions.The boundary conditions are chosen to extract more accurate boundary information in the local problem.We consider periodic and non-periodic coefficients with linear and oscillatory boundary conditions for the base functions.Numerical examples will be provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed multiscale finite element method. 展开更多

New conditions are derived for the l2-stability of time-varying linear and nonlinear discrete-time multiple-input multipleoutput (MIMO) systems, having a linear time time-invariant block with the transfer function F(z), in negative feedback with a matrix of periodic/aperiodic gains A(k), k = 0,1, 2,... and a vector of certain classes of non-monotone/monotone nonlinearities φp(-), without restrictions on their slopes and also not requiring path-independence of their line integrals. The stability conditions, which are derived in the frequency domain, have the following features: i) They involve the positive definiteness of the real part (as evaluated on |z| = 1) of the product of Г (z) and a matrix multiplier function of z. ii) For periodic A(k), one class of multiplier functions can be chosen so as to impose no constraint on the rate of variations A(k), but for aperiodic A(k), which allows a more general multiplier function, constraints are imposed on certain global averages of the generalized eigenvalues of (A(k + 1),A(k)), k = 1, 2 iii) They are distinct from and less restrictive than recent results in the literature. 展开更多
