The rotating band material is processed from H96 brass alloy, which is hardened to a much higher yield strength compared to the annealed one. The dynamically uniaxial compression behavior of the material is tested using the split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB) with temperature and strain rate ranging from 297 to 1073 K and500 to 3000 s^(-1), respectively, and a phenomenological plastic flow stress model is developed to describe the mechanical behavior of the material. The material is found to present noticeable temperature sensitivity and weak strain-rate sensitivity. The construction of the plastic flow stress model has two steps. Firstly, three univariate stress functions, taking plastic strain, plastic strain rate and temperature as independent variable, respectively, are proposed by fixing the other two variables. Then, as the three univariate functions describe the special cases of flow stress behavior under various conditions, the principle of stress compatibility is adopted to obtain the complete flow stress function. The numerical results show that the proposed plastic flow stress model is more suitable for the rotating band material than the existing well-known models.展开更多

Therefore, this study aims to identify what it means for patients with schizophrenia living in the community to remain on medication. Methods: The participants were five residents of communities, who had been discharged from a psychiatric hospital, but were currently visiting a private psychiatric hospital. In this study, we used participants’ narratives as data and analyzed them according to the procedures described in “An Application of Phenomenological Method in Psychology” (Giorgi, 1975), and “Practice of analyzing materials describing experiences” (Giorgi, 2004). Results: The study results are as follows. 1) The drug may be effective, but Subject (below, S) still wants to take it as little as possible. Meanwhile, S has people who care about S and a person who S can rely on nearby, to manage S’s life. The people above tell S to take medicine, and S takes it. 2) S does not know what kind of medication S is consuming, but recently S has been having a hard time walking;S has people who care for S’s foot and look after S. S thinks taking medicine is for living. 3) S feel some drugs is ineffective. However, S met some people S could trust who passionately recommended the medication to S. S started being careful in remembering to take it. 4) S does not think drugs are necessary for S, but S can interact with people and spend S’s days. S has people who accept S as S is. S continues living in the community while taking medicine that a doctor offers. 5) S was skeptical about the drugs. However, S has a person S can trust, who recommended a way to take the medication in a way that S does not feel overwhelmed. S thinks that it may be a good idea to take it. Conclusions: Based on the analysis of the narratives of each of the five participants, the essential structure was read from the perspective of a third party regarding participants’ medication adherence. A generalized reading of the structure common to the above five essential structures reveals a structure that includes the following three opportunities: 1) Patients realize the importance of people;2) They sometimes entrust themselves to people or follow people’s opinions when taking actions;3) They have come to terms with their initial negative feelings about antipsychotic drugs, subsequently continuing to take antipsychotic drugs. This suggests that the following are important attitudes of supporters of patients with schizophrenia who continue to live in the community: To accept what is happening to the patients, to talk to them with encouragement and compassion, and to be there for them. It is also important for supporters to make patients feel comfortable in opening up while the patients reside in the community and to support patients in making decisions.展开更多

While nurses’ non-compliance of hygiene and asepsis measures is questioned, the rationale behind it is not fully understood. We hypothesized that nurses’ experiences and perceptions are one of the reasons for their non-compliance with prevention recommendations. Also, nurses’ caring approach would play an important role in patient safety. The objective of this study was to describe nurses’ experiences and perceptions of HAIs in a district hospital in Burkina Faso with the aim of developing a culture of safety in health care practices. Methods: Qualitative data were collected through unstructured interviews with twenty nurses from the Ziniaré district hospital. Data analysis followed the qualitative phenomenological method according to Giorgi. Results: Phenomenological analysis yielded the following themes: “an ignored reality”;“a denied responsibility”;and “a vulnerable problem”. These results show that nurses’ perception of the extent and seriousness of HAIs is low, and that they deny responsibility for their occurrence. As a result, HAIs are not always perceived as a concern. However, nurses deplore the situation, but remain optimistic about resolving the problem. Conclusion: These nurses’ perceptions of HAIs could explain their non-compliance with prevention recommendations. Corrective action could be redirected by raising awareness, continuing training, improving working conditions and involving all players, including patients and their families, in the fight against HAIs. .展开更多

Further, such mini black holes have been predicted to be produced at prodigious rates, of several thousand per year. Therefore, the continued null results from detector searches so far, including the most recent LHC runs of √s = 14 TeV, seem to suggest that new ideas may be critical for further advances in high energy physics. In this manuscript, we use a geometrical algorithm, inspired by general relativity, in particular Kerr-Newman de-Sitter black holes, to explore the non-perturbative (infra-red) sector of QCD. This has led us to a novel and more refined search criteria for LHC data compared to previous methods. We also explain why the current search has yielded null results. Our predictions are readily testable at detector sites. More importantly, our approach provides promising solutions to several long-standing problems, such as the hierarchy problem, problems with the continued failed attempts to integrate gravity into the standard model, and finally quark confinement.展开更多

Corrective action could be redirected by raising awareness, continuing training, improving working conditions and involving all players, including patients and their families, in the fight against HAIs. .
文摘This work, using the case study of the Haitian Revolution, positions Paul C.Mocombe’s theory of antidialectic within Hegel’s dialectical reasoning.Mocombe posits that the antidialectical position in Hegel’s dialectic is the position of each self-consciousness when they initially encounter each other at the onset of the master/slave dialectic.Whereas, the master seeks to move to the dialectical position in order to dominate and eliminate the original(antidialectical)position of the slave, the slave remains in this antidialectical position so long as they seek to fight against their enslavement for the purpose of maintaining and reproducing their original, antidialectical, position, which is social, political, economic, and ideological. In any other instances, they(the slaves)are either in the dialectical, seeking to maintain the status quo,or negative dialectical, seeking to integrate the status quo on equal footing with the master, positions.
文摘This work, using a structurationist approach, phenomenological structuralism, argues that the Haitian Revolution and Jean-Jacques Dessalines represented the first embodiment of Alexandre Kojève’s“End of History”thesis.Following the Haitian Revolution, which is a revolt against slavery and mercantilist capitalism, the founder of the country,Jean-Jacques Dessalines, attempted to synthesize three forms of system and social integration on the island in order to constitute the nation of Haiti:the mercantilist and liberal capitalism of the Affranchis,petit-bourgeois blacks and mulatto elites, respectively;and the Lakouism, communism,of the African majority on the island. In this sense,Dessalines represented the first embodiment of Kojève’s end of history Hegelian thesis.Using a structurationist, structural Marxist, understanding of practical consciousness constitution, the work explores the origins and basis for Dessalines’s social, political, and economic policies to that end.The death of Dessalines,I conclude, would undermine this revolutionary impetus of the Haitian Revolution, rendering it insignificant, and converted Haiti into the so-called poorest country in the Western Hemisphere under American neoliberal capitalist hegemony.
文摘Developed by Anna-Teresa Tymieniecka, phenomenology of life focuses on the thesis of“ontopoiesis”that unfolds an insightful vision upon the human positioning within the great plan of life. The complex and dynamic ontopoietic view enlightens the creative human condition to be understood in terms of metaphysics, ontology, epistemology, anthropology, cosmology, aesthetics,as well as ethics and environmental philosophy.Among many original thematisations,we find an idea of utmost importance for the ethical conduct of man/woman,namely,to be“Custodian of everything-there-is-alive”.It designates a peculiar status of human being within the web of life in its wholeness, which challenges us to deeply reflect,to value and structure our attitudes, deeds, and behaviours activating their moral potential in our relationship with the natural environment. The purpose of this paper is to emphasize some coordinates of Tymienieckan phenomenology in the horizon of environmental ethics, disclosing the significance of the unique situation man/woman has to be aware of,to assume and continuously manifest as the responsible moral agent concerned with a constructive, fulfilling, ordering in flux experience of life, within the unity and differentiation of human-nature harmony.
文摘This work posits that the Haitian Revolution became an insignificant Revolution the minute that it was usurped by the Affranchis class, the mulatto elites and petit-bourgeois creole blacks, seeking equality of opportunity, recognition, and distribution with their former colonial masters, from the Africans who commenced the event on the night of August 14th,1791.Whereas the Africans,I conclude, sought total freedom from the mercantilist and liberal order of the whites, which made the Haitian Revolution significant, the vindicationism sought by the Affranchis class undermined the agential initiatives of the Africans rendering the Revolution revolutionarily insignificant.
文摘The following contribution is the attempt to touch upon some fundamental questions for a reliable ethical diagnosis of what can be called the economic context of our epoch. For this purpose,we will consider a well-known concept within the medieval economics in light of its modern reappropriation against the backdrop of transformative ethics:the meant concept is usury;the meant reappropriation is that of Ezra Pound. For reasons of space, the single steps will merely hint at ethical questions that require a much more careful investigation.Within these limits, the essay will therefore analyze certain traits of our current economic context while reconsidering its ethical dimension in the light of the concept of usury. The framework within which this analysis will be conducted is that of transformative ethics.
文摘Against behaviorism, humanism, and cognitive psychology, this work explores Mocombe’s antihuman psychology as a product of his consciousness field theory. The paper critically assesses Mocombe’s consciousness field theory within the larger body of contemporary ontological debates regarding the nature, origin, and constitution of consciousness, especially human consciousness,vis-à-vis their relations to the psychological theories of behaviorism, humanism, and cognitivism, concluding that consciousness field theory posits an alternative psychological theory of the mind,i.e.,antihuman psychology,to behaviorist, humanist, and cognitivist conceptions of the mind.
文摘This article argues that the Haitian Vodou spirits(lwas)of fertility and death,Gede,do not promote homosexuality or the fluidity of sexuality in Haitian culture. The latter position is a Western reading of Gede grounded in postmodern and post-structural identity theorizing.Gede in Haitian ontology and epistemology is lwas of fertility and death not sexual identity confusion or fluidity.
文摘Building the foundations of Thermo-Photo-Electronics became possible only after the correction of thermodynamic errors in the traditional theory of semiconductor Electronics and Photo-Electronics.It is these errors that determined the output of the asymptotics of the operating parameters of semiconductor electronic devices,in particular, both the saturation of the limiting clock frequency of processors, and the saturation of the efficiency of both thermoelectric and photoelectric converters. But in semiconductors, although these thermodynamic errors manifested themselves not only in the instrumental, but also in the technological aspect, they could not prohibit semiconductor Electronics itself, unlike Electronics based on other materials. It’s just that a number of qualitative mistakes were made in the theory of semiconductor devices and photo devices. In this work,it is shown that the energy band diagram of semiconductor contacts itself was constructed with a significant omission-without taking into account the temperature force on the contact. At the same time, because of the incorrect calculation of currents according to the outdated formulas of Richardson-Langmuir-Deshman,there were also PROHIBITIONS.So the practitioners compensated for the errors of the theory with“empirical corrections”.So electronics engineers often made devices not according to a strict theory(which simply did not exist until now),but on a hunch and according to empirical local laws. And only the correction of the historical mistakes made it possible to expand the phenomenology of the description of processes in a Solid Body,on the basis of which it is possible to make calculations of highly efficient elements of Photo-Thermo-Electronics.
文摘The formation of mini black holes is now considered to be a well-established and inescapable consequence of TeV scale particle collision scenarios in extra-dimensional/ADD models. More importantly, our approach provides promising solutions to several long-standing problems, such as the hierarchy problem, problems with the continued failed attempts to integrate gravity into the standard model, and finally quark confinement.
文摘This work explores the phenomenological structural basis of Mocombe’s consciousness field theory. The paper critically assesses Mocombe’s consciousness field theory within the larger body of contemporary ontological debates regarding the nature, origin, and constitution of consciousness in the universe. The work goes on to highlight how human consciousness and society are constituted from Mocombe’s consciousness field to societal social structure, which Mocombe calls social class language game.
