Stochastic Response Analysis of Piled Offshore Platform Excited by Stationary Filtered White Noise

In this paper, the analysis method of stochastic response of piled offshore platform excited by stationary filtered white noise is presented. With this method, the strong ground motion is considered as three direction stationary filtered white noise process, the theoretic solutions of three special integration equations are derived with the residue theorem, and the expression of response nodal displacements and member forces of offshore platform excited by the stationary filtered white noise is put forward. The stochastic response of a piled offshore platform excited by the stationary filtered white noise, which is located 114.3 m in water depth, is computed. The results are compared with those obtained with the response spectrum analysis method and the stationary white noise model analysis method, and the corresponding conclusion is drawn. 展开更多

In this paper, the two-way coupling of flow and steel pipe pile platform is simulated by ANSYS Workbench. Taking the construction platform in the deep water area of the Yangtze River Estuary as an example, the stress and deformation characteristics of the steel pipe pile platform under current force are analyzed in detail. As a result, it is suggested the platform piles should be arranged regularly and the connected node de-sign of the platform structure should be strengthened to ensure the safety. 展开更多

Jacket cutting operation is one of the most complicated and highest risk operations in the process of decommissioning offshore piled platform, the security and stability of which must be assured. In this paper, the current research on offshore structure removal and jacket cutting is introduced, on the basis of which the types of load along with the load calculation method are determined. The main influences on the stability of a jacket in cutting are analyzed. The experiment test plan is drawn by using orthogonal testing method, and the formula of critical load during the cutting procedure is deduced by differential evolution algorithm. To verify the method and results of this paper, an offshore piled platform to be decommissioned in the South China Sea is taken for an example, and the detailed schedule for jacket cutting is made with the three-dimensional finite element model of the jacket established. The natural frequency, stress, strain and stability of the jacket during cutting process are calculated, which indicates that the results of finite element analysis agree well with that of the deduced formula. The result provides the scientific reference for guaranteeing the safety of jacket in cutting operation. 展开更多

Foundation piles of the offshore oil platforms in the Bohai Bay are usually longer than 100 m with a diameter larger than 2 m. Driving such long and large-sized piles into the ground is a difficult task. It needs a comprehensive consider ation of the pile dimensions, soil properties and the hammer energy. Thoughtful drivability analysis has to be performed in the design stage. It has been shown that judging whether the soil column inside the pile is fully plugged, which makes the pile behave as close-ended, strongly influences the accuracy of drivability analysis. Engineering practice repeatedly indicates that the current methods widely used for soil plug judgment often give incorrect results, leading the designers to make a wrong decision. It has been found that this problem is caused by the ignorance of the bearing capacity provided by the soil surrounding the pile. Based on the Terzaghi's bearing capacity calculation method for deep foundation, a new approach for judging soil plug status is put forward, in which the surcharge effect has been considered and the dynamic effect coefficient is included. This approach has been applied to some practical engineering projects successfully, which may give more reasonable results than the currently used method does. 展开更多
