Effects of asymmetric coupling and boundary on the dynamic behaviors of a random nearest neighbor coupled system

This study investigates the dynamical behaviors of nearest neighbor asymmetric coupled systems in a confined space.First, the study derivative analytical stability and synchronization conditions for the asymmetrically coupled system in an unconfined space, which are then validated through numerical simulations. Simulation results show that asymmetric coupling has a significant impact on synchronization conditions. Moreover, it is observed that irrespective of whether the system is confined, an increase in coupling asymmetry leads to a hastened synchronization pace. Additionally, the study examines the effects of boundaries on the system's collective behaviors via numerical experiments. The presence of boundaries ensures the system's stability and synchronization, and reducing these boundaries can expedite the synchronization process and amplify its effects. Finally, the study reveals that the system's output amplitude exhibits stochastic resonance as the confined boundary size increases. 展开更多

The model of a locally resonant (LR) epoxy/PZT-4 phononic crystal (PC)nanobeam with “spring-mass” resonators periodically attached to epoxy is proposed. The corresponding band structures are calculated by coupling Euler beam theory, nonlocal piezoelectricity theory and plane wave expansion (PWE) method. Three complete band gaps with the widest total width less than 10GHz can be formed in the proposed nanobeam by comprehensively comparing the band structures of three kinds of LR PC nanobeams with resonators attached or not. Furthermore, influencing rules of the coupling fields between electricity and mechanics,“spring-mass” resonator, nonlocal effect and different geometric parameters on the first three band gaps are discussed and summarized. In general,as the radio frequency(RF)power increases in a capacitively coupled plasma(CCP),the power transfer efficiency decreases because the resistance of the CCP decreases.In this work,a parallel resonance circuit is applied to improve the power transfer efficiency at high RF power,and the effect of the parallel resonance on the electron energy distribution function(EEDF)is investigated in a 60 MHz CCP.The CCP consists of a power feed line,the electrodes,and plasma.The reactance of the CCP is positive at 60 MHz and acts like an inductive load.A vacuum variable capacitor(VVC)is connected in parallel with the inductive load,and then the parallel resonance between the VVC and the inductive load can be achieved.As the capacitance of the VVC approaches the parallel resonance condition,the equivalent resistance of the parallel circuit is considerably larger than that without the VVC,and the current flowing through the matching network is greatly reduced.Therefore,the power transfer efficiency of the discharge is improved from 76%,70%,and 68%to 81%,77%,and 76%at RF powers of 100 W,150 W,and 200 W,respectively.At parallel resonance conditions,the electron heating in bulk plasma is enhanced,which cannot be achieved without the VVC even at the higher RF powers.This enhancement of electron heating results in the evolution of the shape of the EEDF from a biMaxwellian distribution to a distribution with the smaller temperature difference between high-energy electrons and low-energy electrons.Due to the parallel resonance effect,the electron density increases by approximately 4%,18%,and 21%at RF powers of 100 W,150 W,and 200 W,respectively. 展开更多

We have studied the spin-dependent electron transmission through a quantum well driven by both dipole-type and homogeneous oscillating fields. The numerical evaluations show that Dresselhaus spin-orbit coupling induces the splitting of asymmetric Fano-type resonance peaks in the conductivity, in which the dipole modulation and the homogeneous modulation are equivalent. Therefore, we predict that the dipole-type oscillation, which is more practical in the experimental setup, can be used to realize the tunable spin filters by adjusting the field oscillation-frequency and the amplitude as well. 展开更多

The bifurcation characteristics are analyzed to provide a basis for the optimal design and fault diagnosis of the rotor system. For each sample only one wide uniform resonance peak is detected by the ferromagnetic resonance. The uniform resonance field Hb and the resonance line width △H_b oscillate periodically as the thickness of the Cr layers increases, which is related to the oscillation of the interlayer coupling from ferromagnetic to antiferromagnetism.The oscillation period is about 1.5nm. 展开更多

According to the method of multiple scales for nonlinear oscillations, the double resonances of magnetism and solid coupling of hydroelectric-generator stater system, were investigated. We carry out an ultra-low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiment based on high-T c superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs). The measurement field is in a micro-tesla range (~10 μT-100 μT) and the experiment is conducted in a home-made magnetically-shielded-room (MSR). The measurements are performed by the indirect coupling method in which the signal of nuclei precession is indirectly coupled to the SQUID through a tuned copper coil transformer. In such an arrangement, the interferences of applied measurement and polarization field to the SQUID sensor are avoided and the performance of the SQUID is not destroyed. In order to compare the detection sensitivity obtained by using the SQUID with that achieved using a conventional low-noise-amplifier, we perform the measurements using a commercial room temperature amplifier. The results show that in a wide frequency range (~1 kHz-10 kHz) the measurements with the SQUID sensor exhibit a higher signal-to-noise ratio. Further, we discuss the dependence of NMR peak magnitude on measurement frequency. We attribute the reduction of the peak magnitude at high frequency to the increased field inhomogeneity as the measurement field increases. This is verified by compensating the field gradient using three sets of gradient coils. 展开更多

Coupling-induced logical stochastic resonance(LSR) can be observed in a noise-driven coupled bistable system where the behaviors of system can be interpreted consistently as a specific logic gate in an appropriate noise level. Here constant coupling is extended to time-varying coupling, and then we investigate the effect of time-varying coupling on LSR in a periodically driven coupled bistable system. When coupling intensity oscillates periodically with the same frequency with periodic force or relatively high frequency, the system successfully yields the desired logic output. When coupling intensity oscillates irregularly with phase disturbance, large phase disturbance reduces the area of optimal parameter region of coupling intensity and response speed of logic devices. Although the system behaves as a desired logic gate when the frequency of time-periodic coupling intensity is precisely equal to that of periodic force, the desired logic gate is not robust against tiny frequency difference and phase disturbance. Therefore, periodic coupling intensity with high frequency ratio is an optimal option to obtain a reliable and robust logic operation. 展开更多

The coupling process of microwave pulse into a slot is studied by using the modified FD-TD method, and the dependence of microwave coupling on slot sizes, the carrier frequencies and the polarization directions of the incident waves is analysed. Resonant and enhancement effects which occur in this process are observed. The condition at which the resonant effect takes place is also presented. 展开更多

Wireless power transfer(WPT) to support mobile and portable devices is an emerging wireless technique.Among all kinds of approaches,magnetic resonance coupling(MRC) is an excellent one for mid-range WPT,which provides better mobility,flexibility,and convenience due to its simplicity in hardware implementation and longer transmission distances.In this paper,we consider an MRCWPT system with multiple power transmitters,one intended power receiver and multiple unintended power receivers.We investigate the probabilistic robust beamforming designs and provide efficient algorithms to achieve the local optimums under two different criteria,i.e.,total source power minimization problem and min-max unintended receiving power restriction problem.As the problems are quite typical in robust design situations,our proposed robust beamformers can be conveniently applied to other probabilistic robust design problems,thus reduce the complexity as well as improve the beamforming performance.Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed algorithms can significantly improve the performance as well as the robustness of the WPT system. 展开更多

The harmonics and resonance of traction power supply systems(TPSSs)aggravate the electromagnetic interference(EMI)to adjacent metallic pipelines(MPs),which has aroused widespread concern.In this paper,an evaluation method on pipeline interference voltage under harmonic induction is presented.The results show that the Carson integral formula is more accurate in calculating the mutual impedance at higher frequencies.Then,an integrated train-network-pipeline model is established to estimate the influences of harmonic distortion and resonance on an MP.It is revealed that the higher the harmonic cur-rent distortion rate of the traction load,the larger the interference voltage on an MP.Particularly,the interference voltage is amplified up to 7 times when the TPSS resonates,which is worthy of attention.In addition,the parameters that affect the variation and sensitivity of the interference voltage are studied,namely,the pipeline coating material,locomotive position,and soil resistivity,indicating that soil resistivity and 3PE(3-layer polyethylene)anticorrosive coating are more sensitive to harmonic induction.Field test results show that the harmonic distortion can make the interference voltage more serious,and the protective measures are optimized. 展开更多

A model of piezoelectric rectangular thin plates with the consideration of the coupled thermo-piezoelectric-mechanical effect is established. Based on the von Kar- man large deflection theory, the nonlinear vibration governing equation is obtained by using Hamilton’s principle and the Rayleigh-Ritz method. The harmonic balance method (HBM) is used to analyze the first-order approximate response and obtain the frequency response function. The system shows non-linear phenomena such as hardening nonlinear- ity, multiple coexistence solutions, and jumps. The effects of the temperature difference, the damping coefficient, the plate thickness, the excited charge, and the mode on the pri- mary resonance response are theoretically analyzed. With the increase in the temperature difference, the corresponding frequency jumping increases, while the resonant amplitude decreases gradually. Finally, numerical verifications are carried out by the Runge-Kutta method, and the results agree very well with the theoretical results. 展开更多

We explore the behaviors of optically coupled topological corner states in supercell arrays composed of photonic crystal rods,where each supercell is a second-order topological insulator.Our findings indicate that the coupled corner states possess nondegenerate eigenfrequencies at theΓpoint,with coupled dipole corner states excited resonantly by incident plane waves and displaying a polarization-independent characteristic.The resonance properties of coupled dipole corner states can be effectively modulated via evanescently near-field coupling,while multipole decomposition shows that they are primarily dominated by electric quadrupole moment and magnetic dipole moment.Furthermore,we demonstrate that these coupled corner states can form surface lattice resonances driven by diffractively far-field coupling,leading to a dramatic increase in the quality factor.This work introduces more optical approaches to tailoring photonic topological states,and holds potential applications in mid-infrared topological micro-nano devices. 展开更多

We introduce a generalized Rashba coupling approximation to analytically solve confined two-dimensional electron systems with both the Rashba and Dresselhaus spin–orbit couplings in an external magnetic field.A solvable Hamiltonian is obtained by performing a simple change of basis,which has the same form as that with only Rashba coupling.Each Landau state becomes a new displaced-Fock state instead of the original Harmonic oscillator Fock state.Analytical energies are consistent with the numerical ones in a wide range of coupling strength even for a strong Zeeman splitting,exhibiting the validity of the analytical approximation.By using the eigenstates,spin polarization correctly displays a jump at the energy-level crossing point,where the corresponding spin conductance exhibits a pronounced resonant peak.As the component of the Dresselhaus coupling increases,the resonant point shifts to a smaller value of the magnetic field.In contrast to pure Rashba couplings,we find that the Dresselhaus coupling and Zeeman splittings tend to suppress the resonant spin Hall effect.Our method provides an easy-to-implement analytical treatment to two-dimensional electron gas systems with both types of spin–orbit couplings by applying a magnetic field. 展开更多

Magnetically coupled resonant technology is a novel method for solving the breakpoint locating of power grounding grid.But the method can only detect breakpoints of a single mesh grounding grid at present.In this paper,a magnetically coupled resonant detection method for four-hole grounding grid breakpoint is proposed.Firstly,the equivalent circuit model of the four mesh grounding grid with two types of breakpoints,namely edge branch and intermediate branch,is established.The input impedance and phase angle of the system are obtained by analyzing the equivalent capacitance and equivalent resistance in the model.Secondly,the magnetically coupled resonant physical process of grounding grid faults is solved via HFSS software.The magnetic field intensity and phase frequency characteristic curves of four mesh holes with different branches and positions of breakpoints and different corrosion degrees are studied,and an experimental system is built to verify the feasibility.The results show that under the condition of grounding grid buried depth of 0.5 m and input frequency of 1~15MHz,and there is an inverse relationship between equivalent capacitance and distortion frequency,the phase angle is positively correlated with the degree of corrosion of grounding grid,and the error of signal distortion frequency can be positioned at 5%.This paper provides some ideas for the application of magnetic coupling grounding grid detection technology. 展开更多
