It is found that acupuncture at Weiwanxiashu point can significantly lower the BG content and inhibit release of PG; no significant changes in BG and PG are found when acupuncture is given at Zusanli (ST 36) point alone, however BG and PG contents decrease more obviously when acupuncture employed at both Zusanli and Weiwanxiashu, suggesting that Zusanli has a marked synergetic action with Weiwanxiashu.展开更多

The main treatment of western medicine for vulvar leukoplakia is the external use of glucocorticoids or estrogen, resulting to the high recurrence rate and side effects. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has the characteristics of the overall concept and dialectical treatment with a variety of ways. Literature review in recent years found that the treatment of TCM decoction combined with external therapies, such as external fumigation, acupuncture and other treatments, or the combination of TCM decoction and external western medicine hormone ointment, can obtain good effects in vulvar leukoplakia. During the clinical practice, we found that the use of TCM internally and externally combined with auricular acupuncture point bloodletting was highly effective with unique advantages in the treatment of vulvar leukoplakia, providing the ideas guidance for clinicians.展开更多

The first three aspects are the foundation, accurate location and flexible needling manipulations are also the prerequisite for effective treatment of diseases. In addition, sound theoretical basic knowledge of both traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and modern medicine, and flexibly applying suitable needling maneuvers, stimulating quantity and duration of needle retaining in accordance with the concrete state of disease and the patient's conditions are also very important in clinical practice of acupuncture.展开更多

Methods: 78 cases of stroke patients were treated by acupuncture and moxibustion of Yongquan (KI 1), once daily, with 20 days being a therapeutic course. Indexes of whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity, platelet aggregation rate, packed cell volume and fibrinogen were detected before and after treatment. Changes of the functional activity were assessed using Barthel marking method. Results: After 2 courses of acupuncture treatment, all the above mentioned indexes and functional activity were improved significantly (P<0.05~0.01).
