The stereodynamics of the abstraction reaction H^+ NeH^+(v = 1-3,j = 1,3,5) → H2^+ + Ne is studied theoretically with a quasi-classical trajectory method on a new ab initio potential energy surface [ S J,Zhang P Y,Han K L and He G Z 2012 J.Chem.Phys.132 014303].The effects of vibrational and rotational excitation of reagent molecules on the polarization of the product are investigated. The reaction cross sections, the distributions of P(θr),P(φr),and polarizationdependent differential cross sections(PDDCSs) are calculated. The obtained cross sections indicate that the title reaction is a typical barrierless atom(ion)-ion(molecule) reaction. The initial vibrational excitation and rotational excitation of reagent molecules have distinctly different influences on stereodynamics of the title reaction, and the possible reasons for the differences are presented. 展开更多

The global oceans play important roles in exciting the annual polar motion besides the atmosphere. However, it is still unclear about how large the regional oceans contribute to the annual polar motion. We investigate systemically the contributions of the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans to the excitation of the annual polar motion, based on the output data of ocean current velocity field and ocean bottom pressure field from "Estimating the Circulation and Climate of the Ocean (ECCO)" ocean circulation model over the period 1993-2005. The result shows that due to its particular location and shape, the Atlantic Ocean makes a less significant contribution to the x-component of the annual polar motion excitation than the Pacific and Indian Oceans, while all these three oceans contribute to the y-component of the annual polar motion excitation to some extent. 展开更多

A polarization-insensitive, square split-ring resonator(SSRR) is simulated and experimented. By investigating the influence of the asymmetrical arm width in typical SSRRs, we find that the variation of the arm width enables a blue shift of the resonance frequency for the 0° polarized wave and a red shift of the resonance frequency for the 90° polarized wave. Thus, the resonance frequency for the 0° polarized wave and the resonance frequency for the 90° polarized wave will be identical by asymmetrically adjusting the arm width of the SSRR. Two modified, split-ring resonators(MSRRs) that are insensitive to the polarization with asymmetrical arm widths are designed, fabricated, and tested. Excellent agreement between the simulations and experiments for the MSRRs demonstrates the polarization insensitivity with asymmetrical arm widths. This work opens new opportunities for the investigation of polarization-insensitive, split-ring resonator metamaterials and will broaden the applications of split-ring resonators in various terahertz devices. 展开更多
