Polyacrylamide microspheres have been suc- cessfully used to reduce water production in reservoirs, but it is impossible to distinguish polyacrylamide microspheres from polyacrylamide that is used to enhance oil recovery and is already present in production fluids. In order to detect polyacrylamide microspheres in the reservoir pro- duced fluid, fluorescent polyacrylamide microspheres P(AM-BA-AMCO), which fluoresce under ultraviolet irradiation, were synthesized via an inverse suspension polymerization. In order to keep the particle size distribu- tion in a narrow range, the synthesis conditions of the polymerization were studied, including the stirring speed and the concentrations of initiator, NaaCO3, and dispersant. The bonding characteristics of microspheres were deter- mined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The surface morphology of these microspheres was observed under ultraviolet irradiation with an inverse fluorescence microscope. A laboratory evaluation test showed that the fluorescent polymer microspheres had good water swelling capability, thus they had the ability to plug and migrate in a sand pack. The plugging rate was 99.8 % and the residual resistance coefficient was 800 after microsphere treatment in the sand pack. Furthermore, the fluorescent microspheres and their fragments were accurately detected under ultra- violet irradiation in the produced fluid, even though theyhad experienced extrusion and deformation in the sand pack. 展开更多

Performance and Stability of Polymer Solar Cells Based on the Blends of Poly(3-Hexylthiophene) and Indene-C_(60) Bis-Adduct

The performance and morphology stability of polymer bulk heterojunetion solar cells based on poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) as the donor and indene-C6o bisadduct (ICBA) or methanofullerene [6,6]-phenyl C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) as the aeceptor are compared. Effect of the different donor and aeeeptor weight ratios on photo- voltaic performance of the P3HT:ICBA device is studied. The optimal device achieved power conversion emeiency of 5.51~o with dso of l0.86mA/cm2, Voc of 0.83 V, and fill factor (FF) of 61.1 % under AM 1.5G (lOOmW/cm2) simulated solar illumination. However, the stability measurement shows that cells based on P3HT:ICBA are less stable than those of the device based on P3HT:PCBM. Atomic force microscope results reveal that the morphol- ogy of the P3HT:ICBA film changed considerably during the storage periods due to unstable interpenetrating D-A network. This observation can be explained by the fact that there is lack of intermolecular hydrogen bonds in the P3HT:ICBA system. However, in the P3HT:PCBM system the molecules in the blend film are firmly held together in the solid state by means of intermoleeular hydrogen bonds originating from C-H. ~. Os bonds (where Os comes from the singly-bonded 0 atom of PCBM), forming a stable three-dimensional network. The measured PL decay lifetimes for P3HT:PCBM and P3HT:ICBA systems are 33.66 ns and 35.34 ns, respectively, indicating that the P3HT:ICBA system has a less efficient exciton separation eftleiency than that of P3HT:PCBM, which may result in the interracial photogenerated charges accumulated on the D: A interface. Such progressive phase segregation between P3HT and ICBA eventually leads to the degradation in performance and deteriorates the stability of the device. We also present an approach to enhance the stability of P3HT:ICBA systems by adding PCBM as the second acceptor. Our results show that by carefully tuning the contents of PCBM as the second acceptor, more stable polymer solar cells can be obtained. 展开更多

As a new family of 2D nanomaterials, 2D polymerbased nanosheets, featuring excellent characters, such as tunable framework structures, light weight, flexibility, high specific surface, and good semiconducting properties, have been emerging as one kind of promising functional materials for optoelectronics, gas separation, catalysis and sensing, etc. In this review, the recent progress in synthetic approach and characterization of 2D polymer-based nanosheets were summarized, and their current advances in electrochemical energy storage and conversion including second batteries, supercapacitors, oxygen reduction and hydrogen evolution were discussed systematically. 展开更多

In this paper, the effects of polymer additives and nozzle shape on the proper- ties of high pressure water jet discharging into the air are investigated by theory and experiments. Criteria of judging the jet quality are put forward. And, a method that can be used in analysing the fluid flow within the nozzle is developed. Then, the calculated results are compared with the experiments that we carried out; it is shown that the degree of agreement between the two is good. A highly hierarchically ordered macroporous-mesoporous Ce0.4Zr0.602 solid solution with crystalline framework walls was directly and simply prepared using polystyrene (PS) microspheres and a block copolymer as dual templates. The PS microspheres and block copolymer were assembled into colloidal crystals and mesoscopic rod-like micelles as macroporous and mesoporous templates, respectively, by a one-step process. This process offers a facile method to prepare hierarchically ordered porous materials. Compared to commercial ceria, the macroporous-mesoporous Ce0.4Zr0.602 material significantly improved the ultraviolet resistance and mechanical performance of a polysulfide polymer. Because the ordered macroporous-mesoporous Ce0.4Zr0.602 can disperse uniformly in the polysulfide polymer based on the open macroporous structure for diffusion and mobility and mesoporous structure for high surface areas. Furthermore, these results show that better-performing polysulfide polymers can be achieved by adding hierarchically structured materials. 展开更多
