Void formation and growth in the interior of a sphere composed of compressible hyper-elastic material, subjected to a prescribed uniform displacement, was examined. A parametric cavitated bifurcation solution for the radial deformed function was obtained. Stability of the solution of the cavitated bifurcation equation was discussed. With the appearance of a cavity, an interesting feature of the radial deformation near the deformed cavity wall is the transition from extension to compression.展开更多

The thermo-elastic stress distribution in the crystal with a flat growth shape was more homoge- neous than that in the crystals with concave and convex growth shapes, and the value of thermo-elasticity in the crystal with a fiat growth shape was also smaller than that in the two other types of crystals. The maximum values of thermo-elastic stress appeared at interfaces be- tween the crystal and the graphite lid. If the lid was of the same properties as 6H-SiC, the thermo-elastic stress would decrease in two orders of magnitude. Thus, to grow 6H-SiC single crystals of high quality, a transition layer of SiC formed by deposition or reaction is suggested; meanwhile the thermal field in the growth chamber should be adjusted to maintain the crystals with fiat growth shapes.展开更多

Correspondingly, the production would be constrained by the scarcity of resources clearly. Then the economic researchers would pay much more attention to reducing the consumption of natural resources in the future. Therefore this paper brings foreword the conception of elasticity ratio of resource consumption based on the concept of elasticity and analyzes the relationship between the parameters. For the certain relationships between the elasticity ratio of resource consumption and resource consumption, this paper will try to reveal, to keep economy growing while resource consumption reducing, what conditions should be met as to the relationships among resource productivity, its growth rate, energy saving efficiency, economic growth rate and elasticity ratio of resource consumption. This paper proves the relationship between the China's energy consumption and economy growth using statistic data from 1978 to 2003.展开更多

The notion that China doesn’t have any employment growth is a myth. The forthcoming Lewis Turning-Point in China’s labous market will be a great challenge for the next stage of sustainable growth.展开更多

Traditional diagnosis of medical images, which gives the aneurysm size and compares with a speculated critical size from clinical statistics, was demonstrated inadequate to forecasting rupture. Here, we propose a new detecting strategy that uses a dielectric elastomer (DE) capacitance sensor to monitor the growth of saccular aneurysms and deliver both the wall stress and geometric parameters, Based on the elastic growth theory together with the finite deformation analyses, the correlation between the real-time output capacitance of the DE sensor and the wall stress and/or geometry of an aneurysm is derived. Compared to clinic statistics and biomechanics simulations, the wall stress and geometric size may be used as combined indicators to assess the rupture risk of a saccular aneurysm, Numerical results show that an output relative capacitance of 30 indicates a high risk of rupture, Finally, the sensitivity and resolution of the DE sensor are proved adequately high for monitoring the growth state and evaluating the rupture risk of a saccular aneurysm.展开更多

Elastic constants are important parameters of a crystal which provide valuable infor-mation about the bonding characteristic between adjacent atomic planes and the anisotropic cha-racter of the bonding and structural ability. Second order elastic constants can be measured by measuring the velocity of the ultrasonic pulses of different polarization along different symmetry directions. Elastic Constants of Lithium Hydroxylammonium Sulphate [LHAS] single crystal by ul-trasonic Pulse Echo Overlap [PEO] technique are reported for the first time. Large single crystals of LHAS of size [26×26×10] ?mm3 have been grown from supersaturated aqueous solution of the salt by slow evaporation technique over a period of 40 - 45 days at 305 K. Absolute velocities at room temperature (303 K) have been measured for the selected direction and modes with McSkimin criterion. The anisotropy in the elastic properties of LHAS is well studied by measuring ultrasonic velocity in the crystal in certain specified crystallographic directions. The elastic stiffness constants C11, C33, C44, C55, and C66, and Acoustic impedance constants and Rao’s constants in specified directions are evaluated.展开更多

Axisymmetric cell model embedded with spherical void is controlled by constant triaxiality loading, while plane-stress model containing a circular void is loaded by constant ratio of straining. Elastic-plastic material is used for the matrix in both cases. It is concluded that, besides the known effect of triaxiality, the straining mode which intensifies the plastic concentration around the void is also a void growth stimulator. Experimental results are cited to justify the computation results.展开更多
