PCA analysis suggested5 PCs,which accounted for 86.8% cumulative variance. PC1 accounted for 30% with a significant loading of metals of anthropogenic origin, while PC2 showed 28% variance with the loading of metals of crustal origin. These trace metals showed seasonal distinct day and night time characteristics. The concentrations of Cu,Pb,and Cd were found to be higher during nighttime in all the seasons. Only Fe was observed with significantly higher mean concentrations during daytime of all seasons except monsoon. The highest mean values of Cu,Cd,Zn,and Pb during post-monsoon might be attributed to winds advection over the regions of waste/biomass burning and industrial activities in Punjab and Haryana regions.Furthermore, concentration weighted trajectory analysis suggested that metals of crustal origin were contributed by long-range transport while metals of anthropogenic and industrial activities were contributed by regional/local source regions.展开更多

文摘This study attempts to identify the dominant transport pathways, potential source areas, and their seasonal variation at sites with high inorganic nitrogen(IN)wet deposition flux in southern China. This is a long-term study(2010-2017)based on continuous deposition measurements at the Guangzhou urban site(GZ)and the Dinghushan Natural Reserve site(DHS)located in the Pearl River Delta(PRD)region.A dataset on monthly IN concentration in precipitation and wet deposition flux were provided. The average annual fluxes measured at both sites(GZ:33.04±9.52,DHS:20.52±10.22 kg N/(ha·year))were higher, while the ratios of reduced to oxidized N(GZ:1.19±0.77,DHS:1.25±0.84)were lower compared with the national mean level and the previous reported level throughout the PRD region. The dominant pathways were not always consistent with the highest proportional trajectory clusters. The transport pathways contributing most of deposition were identified in the north and northnortheast in the dry season and in the east-southeast,east,and south-southwest in the wet season.A weighted potential source contribution function(WPSCF)value>0.3 was determined reasonably to define the potential source area.Emission within the PRD region contributed the majority(≥95%at both sites)of the IN deposition in the wet season, while the contribution outside the region increased significantly in the dry season(GZ:27.86%,DHS:95.26%).Our results could help create more effective policy to control precursor emissions for IN fluxes, enabling reduction of the ecological risks due to excessive nitrogen.

文摘Volatile organic compounds(VOCs)are major contributors to air pollution.Based on the emission characteristics of 99 VOCs that daily measured at 10 am in winter from 15 December 2015 to 17 January 2016 and in summer from 21 July to 25 August 2016 in Beijing, the environmental impact and health risk of VOC were assessed. In the winter polluted days, the secondary organic aerosol formation potential(SOAP)of VOC(199.70±15.05 mg/m^3)was significantly higher than that on other days. And aromatics were the primary contributor(98.03%)to the SOAP during the observation period.Additionally, the result of the ozone formation potential(OFP)showed that ethylene contributed the most to OFP in winter(26.00%and 27.64%on the normal and polluted days). In summer, however, acetaldehyde was the primary contributor to OFP(22.00%and 21.61%on the normal and polluted days).Simultaneously, study showed that hazard ratios and lifetime cancer risk values of acrolein,chloroform,benzene,1,2-dichloroethane,acetaldehyde and 1,3-butadiene exceeded the thresholds established by USEPA,thereby presenting a health risk to the residents.Besides, the ratio of toluene-to-benzene indicated that vehicle exhausts were the main source of VOC pollution in Beijing. The ratio of m-/p-xylene-toethylbenzene demonstrated that there were more prominent atmospheric photochemical reactions in summer than that in winter. Finally, according to the potential source contribution function(PSCF)results, compared with local pollution sources, the spread of pollution from long-distance VOCs had a greater impact on Beijing.

文摘This study reports on the measurements of ion and refractory black carbon(rBC)concentrations in a shallow(10.96 m)ice core sample which was drilled from the field site of the East Greenland Ice Core Project(EGRIP)in July,2016.The results provide a recent record of rBC deposition in the East Greenland ice sheet from 1990 to 2016.The annual variability in oxygen(δ^(18)O)and hydrogen(δD)isotopic compositions indicated that notably warm events occurred since 2008.Peaks in rBC occurred during summer seasons, which may be attributed to the burning of biomass in boreal summer. The rBC record and analysis of historical air trajectories using the HYSPLIT model indicated that anthropogenic BC emissions from Russia,North America and Europe contributed to the majority of rBC deposition in the Greenland region, and a reduction in anthropogenic BC consumption in these areas played a dominant role in the decrease in BC concentrations since 2000.This record also suggests that the emissions from the East Asian region(China)contributed very little to the recorded BC concentrations in East Greenland ice core. The model results indicated that radiative forcing due to BC had decreased significantly since 1990,and had remained below 0.02W m^(-2) since 2000.

文摘Trace metals associated with PM_(10) aerosols and their variation during day and nighttime as well as during different seasons have been studied for the year 2012. The highest mean values of Cu,Cd,Zn,and Pb during post-monsoon might be attributed to winds advection over the regions of waste/biomass burning and industrial activities in Punjab and Haryana regions.Furthermore, concentration weighted trajectory analysis suggested that metals of crustal origin were contributed by long-range transport while metals of anthropogenic and industrial activities were contributed by regional/local source regions.

文摘Organic pollutants are widespread environmental pollutants with high toxicity, persistence, and bioaccumulation. Our aim was to investigate the distribution of aromatic amines, phenols, chlorobenzenes, and naphthalenes in the surface sediment of the Dianchi Lake,China.Nineteen surface sediment samples were collected from the Dianchi Lake, and 40 types of organic pollutants were analyzed via gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The total organic pollutant concentrations in the surface sediment of the Dianchi Lake varied from 27.4 to 1.62×10^3 ng/g.The concentrations of phenols were much higher than those in other water bodies but still within a controllable range, whereas the concentrations of the other organic pollutant classes were similar or even lower. The detection ratio of 3-or 4-methylphenol was the highest(100.00%)among the pollutants. The average total organic pollutant concentrations decreased in the following order:Caohai(540 ng/g)>the middle of Waihai(488 ng/g)>the edge of Waihai(351 ng/g)>Haigeng Dam(90.4 ng/g).Pearson analysis showed a strong correlation among 1-methylnaphthalene,2-methylnaphthalene,1,3-dinitronaphthalene,and 1,4-dinitronaphthalene(P<0.01).Caohai,the north lakeshore of Waihai and the south of Waihai showed higher risk because of high concentration;meanwhile,1,4-dichlorobenzene,3-or 4-methylphenol and 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene were mor e likely to cause risks.
