The Jacobian matrix used in the power-flow calculation was deduced through methods such as Newton–Laphson iteration and Taylor series expansion. Further, the operation effect of powerflow calculation on a true bipolar VSC-HVDC power grid was analyzed briefly. The elements of the Jacobian matrix corresponding to VSC were studied under the mode of droop control and the control strategy of VSC-HVDC power grid was analyzed in detail. The power-flow calculation model for VSC-HVDC power grid of the master–slave control mode was simplified using the PQ decomposition method of the power-flow calculation of an AC power grid. Moreover, a four-terminal model of the Zhangbei VSC-HVDC demonstration project was established and tested on MATLAB. The simulation results under two kinds of operating conditions were analyzed and compared to the results of BPA; the deviation between the power-flow results was studied. The results show that the proposed calculation method can provide a feasible support for calculating the power flow in VSC-HVDC grids.展开更多

The interface between the two fluids is populated with an insoluble surfactant. The analytic solution for the growth rate of perturbation is obtained with long wave approximation. We are mainly concerned with the effects of shear-thinning/thickening property and interfacial surfactant on the flow stability. The results show that the influence of shear-thinning/thickening property accounts to the change of the capillary number. For a clean interface, the shear-thinning property enhances the capillary instability when the interface is close to the pipe wall. The converse is true when the interface is close to the pipe centerline. For shear-thickening fluids, the situation is reversed. When the interface is close to the pipe centerline, the capillary instability can be restrained due to the influence of surfactant. A parameter set can be found under which the flow is linearly stable.展开更多

By design, a distribution grid system is not an active network, and it is normally designed in such a way that power flows from transmission system via distribution system to consumers. But in a situation when wind turbines are connected to the distribution grid, the power source will change from one source to two sources, in this case, network is said to be active. This may probably have an impact on the distribution grid to whenever the wind turbine is connected. The best way to know the impact of wind turbine on the distribution grid in question is by carrying out load flow analysis on that system with and without the connection of wind turbines. Two major fundamental calculations: the steady-state voltage variation at the PCC (point of common coupling) and the calculation of short-circuit power of the grid system at the POC (point of connection) are necessary before carrying out the load flow study on the distribution grid. This paper, therefore, considers these pre-load flow calculations that are necessary before carrying out load flow study on the test distribution grid. This controller is tuned to simultaneously shift the undamped electromeehanical modes to a prescribed zone in the s-plane. The problem of robust UPFC based damping controller is formulated as an optimization problem according to the eigenvalue-based multi-objective function comprising the damping factor, and the damping ratio of the undamped electromechanical modes to be solved using gravitational search algorithm (GSA) that has a strong ability to find the most optimistic results. The parameters of PIM are derived with help of the Newton-Raphson power flow algorithm. In general, a sample test power system without FACTs devices has generated more reactive power, decreased real power, more harmonics, small power factor and poor dynamic performance under line and load variations. In order to improve the real power, compensating the reactive power, proficient power factor and excellent load voltage regulation in the sample test power system, an IPFC is designed. The D-Q technique is utilized here to derive the reference current of the converter and its D.C link capacitor voltage is regulated. Also, the reference voltage of the inverter is arrived by park transformation technique and its load voltage is controlled. Here, a sample 230 KV test power system is taken for study. Further as the conventional PI controllers are designed at one nominal operating point they are not competent to respond satisfactorily in dynamic operating conditions. This can be circumvented by a Fuzzy and Neural network based IPFC and its detailed Simulink model is developed using MATLAB and the overall performance analysis is carried out under different operating state of affairs.展开更多

Taking the Guizhou power grid of 220 kV&500 kV as an example, the security and stability problem of the Guizhou power grid is analyzed. The strategy using three-defense line coordination for lowering the level of electricity safety accidents is researched. The analysis results show that the proposed coordination strategy is feasible, which can lower the level of electricity safety accidents under the same fault in same operation mode. Through studying the three-defense line of the Guizhou power grid, this paper presents a basic idea of the three-defense line coordination strategy based on the Decree of the State Council (No.599). The three-defense line coordination strategy provides reference for other provinces power grid.
文摘The continuation power flow method combined with the Jacobi-Davidson method is presented to trace the critical eigenvalues for power system small signal stability analysis. The continuation power flow based on a predictor- corrector technique is applied to evaluate a continuum of steady state power flow solutions as system parameters change;meanwhile, the critical eigenvalues are found by the Jacobi-Davidson method, and thereby the trajectories of the critical eigenvalues, Hopf bifurcation and saddle node bifurcation points can also be found by the proposed method. The numerical simulations are studied in the IEEE 30-bus test system.
