Identification of Key Links in Electric Power Operation Based-Spatiotemporal Mixing Convolution Neural Network

As the scale of the power system continues to expand,the environment for power operations becomes more and more complex.Existing risk management and control methods for power operations can only set the same risk detection standard and conduct the risk detection for any scenario indiscriminately.Therefore,more reliable and accurate security control methods are urgently needed.In order to improve the accuracy and reliability of the operation risk management and control method,this paper proposes a method for identifying the key links in the whole process of electric power operation based on the spatiotemporal hybrid convolutional neural network.To provide early warning and control of targeted risks,first,the video stream is framed adaptively according to the pixel changes in the video stream.Then,the optimized MobileNet is used to extract the feature map of the video stream,which contains both time-series and static spatial scene information.The feature maps are combined and non-linearly mapped to realize the identification of dynamic operating scenes.Finally,training samples and test samples are produced by using the whole process image of a power company in Xinjiang as a case study,and the proposed algorithm is compared with the unimproved MobileNet.The experimental results demonstrated that the method proposed in this paper can accurately identify the type and start and end time of each operation link in the whole process of electric power operation,and has good real-time performance.The average accuracy of the algorithm can reach 87.8%,and the frame rate is 61 frames/s,which is of great significance for improving the reliability and accuracy of security control methods.

Energy-Efficient Operation of Water Systems through Optimization of Load Power Reduction in Electricity Markets

Demand response(DR) is gaining more and more importance in the architecture of power systems in a context of flexible loads and high share of intermittent generation. Changes in electricity markets regulation in several countries have recently enabled an effective integration of DR mechanisms in power systems. Through its flexible components(pumps, tanks), drinking water systems are suitable candidates for energy-efficient DR mechanisms. However, these systems are often managed independently of power system operation for both economic and operational reasons. Indeed, a sufficient level of economic viability and water demands risk management are necessary for water utilities to integrate their flexibilities to power system operation. In this paper,we proposed a mathematical model for optimizing pump schedules in water systems while trading DR blocs in a spot power market during peak times. Uncertainties about water demands were considered in the mathematical model allowing to propose power reductions covering the potential risk of real-time water demand forecasting inaccuracy.Numerical results were discussed on a real water system in France, demonstrating both economic and ecological benefits.

A Novel Design Framework for Smart Operating Robot in Power System

This paper proposes the concept and framework of smart operating system based on the artificial intelligence(AI)techniques. The demands and the potential applications of AI technologies in power system control centers is discussed in the beginning of the paper. The discussion is based on the results of a field study in the Tianjin Power System Control Center in China. According to the study, one problem in power systems is that the power system analysis system in the control center is not fast and powerful enough to help the operators in time to deal with the incidents in the power system. Another issue in current power system control center is that the operation tickets are compiled manually by the operators, so that it is less efficient and human errors cannot be avoided. Based on these problems, a framework of the smart operating robot is proposed in this paper, which includes an intelligent power system analysis system and a smart operation ticket compiling system to solve the two problems in power system control centers. The proposed framework is mainly based on the AI techniques, especially the neural network with deep learning, since it is faster and more capable of dealing with the highly nonlinear and complex power system.

Power Aggregation Operators and Similarity Measures Based on Improved Intuitionistic Hesitant Fuzzy Sets and their Applications to Multiple Attribute Decision Making

Intuitionistic hesitant fuzzy set(IHFS)is amixture of two separated notions called intuitionistic fuzzy set(IFS)and hesitant fuzzy set(HFS),as an important technique to cope with uncertain and awkward information in realistic decision issues.IHFS contains the grades of truth and falsity in the formof the subset of the unit interval.The notion of IHFS was defined by many scholars with different conditions,which contain several weaknesses.Here,keeping in view the problems of already defined IHFSs,we will define IHFS in another way so that it becomes compatible with other existing notions.To examine the interrelationship between any numbers of IHFSs,we combined the notions of power averaging(PA)operators and power geometric(PG)operators with IHFSs to present the idea of intuitionistic hesitant fuzzy PA(IHFPA)operators,intuitionistic hesitant fuzzy PG(IHFPG)operators,intuitionistic hesitant fuzzy power weighted average(IHFPWA)operators,intuitionistic hesitant fuzzy power ordered weighted average(IHFPOWA)operators,intuitionistic hesitant fuzzy power ordered weighted geometric(IHFPOWG)operators,intuitionistic hesitant fuzzy power hybrid average(IHFPHA)operators,intuitionistic hesitant fuzzy power hybrid geometric(IHFPHG)operators and examined as well their fundamental properties.Some special cases of the explored work are also discovered.Additionally,the similarity measures based on IHFSs are presented and their advantages are discussed along examples.Furthermore,we initiated a new approach to multiple attribute decision making(MADM)problem applying suggested operators and a mathematical model is solved to develop an approach and to establish its common sense and adequacy.Advantages,comparative analysis,and graphical representation of the presented work are elaborated to show the reliability and effectiveness of the presented works.

Linguistic Single-Valued Neutrosophic Power Aggregation Operators and Their Applications to Group Decision-Making Problems

Linguistic single-valued neutrosophic set(LSVNS)is a more reliable tool,which is designed to handle the uncertainties of the situations involving the qualitative data.In the present manuscript,we introduce some power aggregation operators(AOs)for the LSVNSs,whose purpose is to diminish the influence of inevitable arguments about the decision-making process.For it,first we develop some averaging power operators,namely,linguistic single-valued neutrosophic(LSVN)power averaging,weighted average,ordered weighted average,and hybrid averaging AOs along with their desirable properties.Further,we extend it to the geometric power AOs for LSVNSs.Based on the proposed work;an approach to solve the group decision-making problems is given along with the numerical example.Finally,a comparative study and the validity tests are present to discuss the reliability of the proposed operators.

Comparative Analysis of Pythagorean MCDM Methods for the Risk Assessment of Childhood Cancer

According to the World Health Organization(WHO),cancer is the leading cause of death for children in low and middle-income countries.Around 400,000 kids get diagnosed with this illness each year,and their survival rate depends on the country in which they live.In this article,we present a Pythagorean fuzzy model that may help doctors identify the most likely type of cancer in children at an early stage by taking into account the symptoms of different types of cancer.The Pythagorean fuzzy decision-making techniques that we utilize are Pythagorean Fuzzy TOPSIS,Pythagorean Fuzzy Entropy(PF-Entropy),and Pythagorean Fuzzy PowerWeighted Geometric(PFPWG).Ourmodel is fed with nineteen symptoms and it diagnoses the risk of eight types of cancers in children.We develop an algorithm for each method and calculate its complexity.Additionally,we consider an example to make a clear understanding of our model.We also compare the final results of various tests that prove the authenticity of this study.

A Scenario-classification Hybrid-based Banding Method for Power Transfer Limits of Critical Inter-corridors

To secure power system operations,practical dispatches in industries place a steady power transfer limit on critical inter-corridors,rather than high-dimensional and strong nonlinear stability constraints.However,computational complexities lead to over-conservative pre-settings of transfer limit,which further induce undesirable and non-technical congestion of power transfer.To conquer this barrier,a scenario-classification hybrid-based banding method is proposed.A cluster technique is adopted to separate similarities from historical and generated operating condition dataset.With a practical rule,transfer limits are approximated for each operating cluster.Then,toward an interpretable online transfer limit decision,costsensitive learning is applied to identify cluster affiliation to assign a transfer limit for a given operation.In this stage,critical variables that affect the transfer limit are also picked out via mean impact value.This enables us to construct low-complexity and dispatcher-friendly rules for fast determination of transfer limit.The numerical case studies on the IEEE 39-bus system and a real-world regional power system in China illustrate the effectiveness and conservativeness of the proposed method.

Storing Freshwater Versus Storing Electricity in Power Systems with High Freshwater Electric Demand

We consider a power system whose electric demand pertaining to freshwater production is high(high freshwater electric demand),as in the Middle East,and investigate the tradeoff of storing freshwater in tanks versus storing electricity in batteries at the day-ahead operation stage.Both storing freshwater and storing electricity increase the actual electric demand at valley hours and decrease it at peak hours,which is generally beneficial in term of cost and reliability.But,to what extent?We analyze this question considering three power systems with different generation-mix configurations,i.e.,a thermal-dominated mix,a renewable-dominated one,and a fully renewable one.These generation-mix configurations are inspired by how power systems may evolve in different countries in the Middle East.Renewable production uncertainty is compactly modeled using chance constraints.We draw conclusions on how both storage facilities(freshwater and electricity)complement each other to render an optimal operation of the power system.

A Practical Permanent Magnetic Motor Drive for Hybrid Motorcycle

A novel embedded-type permanent magnetic motor for hybrid motorcycle, which employs asymmetric design of eccentric air-gap, is proposed in the paper. This special design of air-gap well conforms to the mono-directional operation characteristic of motorcycle and effectively suppresses the distortion of air-gap magnetic field caused by armature reaction. Hence the torque ripple is reduced. A drive system consisting of the newly-designed Nd-Fe-B permanent magnet synchronous motor and parallel-MOSFET three-phase inverter for hybrid motorcycle propulsion is established. Wide-range speed operation is realized through a simple and novel control strategy. Computer simulation is described and experimental results given to verify the practicality of the proposed motor design and control strategy.

High-temperature characteristics of SiC module and 100 kW SiC AC–DC converter at a junction temperature of 180 ℃

High-temperature,high-power converters have gained importance in industrial applications given their ability to operate in adverse environments,such as in petroleum exploration,multi-electric aircrafts,and electric vehicles.SiC metaloxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor(MOSFET),a new,wide bandgap,high-temperature device,is the key component of these converters.In this study,the static and dynamic characteristics of the SiC MOSFET,half-bridge module,are investigated at the junction temperature of 180℃.A simplified experimental method is then proposed pertaining to the power operation of the SiC module at 180℃.This method is based on the use of a thermal resistance test platform and is proven convenient for the study of heat dissipation characteristics.The high-temperature characteristics of the module are verified based on the conducted experiments.Accordingly,a 100 kW high-temperature converter is built,and the test results show that the SiC converter can operate at a junction temperature of 180℃in a stable manner in compliance with the requirements of high-temperature,high-power applications.

District heating system operation in power systems with high share of wind power

The integration of continuously varying and not easily predictable wind power generation is affecting the stability of the power system and leads to increasing demand for balancing services.In this study,a short-term operation model of a district heating system is proposed to optimally schedule the production of both heat and power in a system with high wind power penetration.The application of the model in a case study system shows the increased flexibility offered by the coordination of power generation,consumption and heat storage units which are available in district heating systems.
